Started off evening well, ordered guacamole and was tasty. Evening went down hill quickly. Wait staff was not very well trained or attentive. Had to continue to call them over for more water, ordering drinks and to correct order. Overall food had mixed reviews from our party, based on price and quality, had to rate the experience and value poorly. This was a business dinner and I will need to strike this restaurant off my list in the future, my clients were not impressed.
Tasted like Mexican chain food. Rude diners and rude front of the house staff. Pretty awful for this type of resort spot
We went to Hacienda to see the Princess resort and read online reviews that it was voted best Mexican, etc..The food is fine, nothing special..pretty generic Mexican really. Sat on fire pit table on patio which was nice. We were at a different resort, so wouldn't go out of my way to eat Mexican there..just wanted ambience of Princess resort and to check it out.
Great place but a bit on the pricey side. !8 for a top shelf margarita and several pricey tequilas. Food portion on carnitas Tacos are huge, more than most could eat. Fajitas nothing special
A wonderful 21st celebration for our daughter! The different tequilas, margaritas were awesome! Then food was exceptional as was the service!
Really enjoyed our evening at La Hacienda. The food was great. The ambience was excellent and we enjoyed the Princess Resort setting.
We tried to change our reservation to a later time and were told that the restaurant was fully committed and couldn’t change our time. So we went at our original time and the place was half empty and remained half empty when we were done with our meal over an hour later. We’d only wanted to push the reservation back 30 mins! This annoyed us greatly. The server was nice and attentive. The food was extremely greasy. Extremely. Greasy. Would not dine here again.
The hostesses need some training but other than that the service and food were great!
great service from friendly customer focused staff. ice surroundings and not overly expensive. Decent wine list , again not over the top prices.
Downside, the fish just didn't taste fresh. Not off, but not great. If I was served it at home I would grumble, so I am grumbling now. Pity, top people in a hotel we have always loved back from the 70s
We ate outside at a flaming table surrounded by heaters so it was perfect eating outside at night. I had the pork shoulder entree with home made Cole slaw that was utterly delicious. The fact that they had choices that didn’t involve carbs was welcome for me. Our waitress Amy was excellent. She recommended pomegranate margarita that has become a favorite of mine already.
Poor service and mediocre food. We will not be back.
Highly overpriced for moderate food
Good food. Good service.
The food and service were outstanding!! The guacamole sampler is delicious and the halibut tacos are really tasty. The atmosphere is lively yet very comfortable.
Great Mexican cuisine.
Had the nicest birthday meal!
Food was awesome and they didn't rush us!
Willl was fantastic!
We have been coming to La Hacienda periodically for many many years. Food is as good as ever. Truly some of the best Mexican food you can find in Scottsdale/Phoenix. The atmosphere is good but the noise level has become intolerable. A party of six, we could not carry on a conversation without shouting. Music too loud, no soft surfaces anywhere to absorb noise, and so many large parties in one room it was not enjoyable. Prices are pushing the limit of reasonable even for special occasion dining. But for the noise and pricing we would go more often.
My sons wedding proposal
Huge disappointment. Food was terrible!
Very responsive server with great recommendations. The guacamole, salsa, and chips were addictively good. Entrees were so outstanding that I was sad to be full! I had carnitas that were just “melt in your mouth” delicious. Cozy atmosphere with just the right amount of lively conversation around you but you could still hear easily at your table. Loved this place. I’d go back every night.
Great food, attentive staff, server spread too thin.
Great drinks food and service
Great food, wonderful service
the drinks were poor, the bar didn't have the right accompaniments for my drink, the food was mediocre....with such great reviews, I expected a better experience.
We had eaten earlier at La Hacienda and both times food and service were excellent.
We will definitely return
Excellent Mexican inspired food with a twist. Great drinks and extensive Tequila and Mezcal selection. Staff was courteous and very responsive to mistake from kitchen. Would definitely visit again.
Service was excellent. The entire staff was attentive but not bothersome. Our orders were taken in a timely fashion and our food was served promptly but not in a rush. The food was not up to our expectations. We are long time Arizona residents and have, perhaps, a more traditional view of Mexican cuisine. I will add, however, that the food was of high quality. It was the preparations style we thought too unlike the Mexican style we appreciate. We did like the atmosphere, service and the surroundings and will give the restaurant another try just to be sure of our opinions.
Francesco our waiter was fabulous, very professional but warm and friendly and knew the menu extremely well. The carnitas tacos were so flavorful and a real deal since I took one home for lunch the next day. My husband had the halibut and it was delicious.
Our waiter and service was very good. Great selection of tequila. Guacamole was too salty. Entrees were nothing to write home about. Was expecting much better based on other reviews.
The food is expensive, there is nothing special about it and the server was uninterested and bordered on consdesending
Fabulous food and ambiance and service!!
We had a horrendous waiter who was only redeemed by the fact that the bus boys and women were picking up his slack. When I confronted him, nicely, about his lack of attention and service he was extremely defensive and rude. I expect better out of a 5 star hotel.
Fantastic Mexican food! Great spot for locals, not just hotel guests. Some of the best carnitas and short ribs we have ever had. Chef does a tremendoes job with flavors and is very creative.
We dined at La Hacienda after a day spent at the Phoenix Open. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and efficient. The food came out quite quickly. This would be my only complaint as we wanted to enjoy our delicious cocktails and expertly prepared guacamole. The chips were perfect as well. We shared a main course (carnitas hacienda)that was perfection on a plate. Wonderfully tender pork and slaw to die for. A must dine spot when in Scottsdale.
Really enjoyed the dinner. Maybe a bit too loud. But I still have it all the stars. But I was on the fence. Between 3-4 stars.
Food was excellent but our server didn’t have the best attitude. He was a little cold to us the whole time. I would recommend the corn guacamole and braised short ribs. They were amazing!
Poor service, the waiter couldn't get the right drinks and then he kept giving them to the wrong people. Food was basically middle of the road, nothing like it was hyped to be. Drinks are pricy and weak. The mole was great, nothing else really stood out and we had four different entree's. Oh well, the spa next door was really nice.
Amazing food and drinks! The service was outstanding and I can say enough about the pear and pomm guac!!
You have to try the churro for dessert! We will be back just for that. :-)
Guacamole sampler is a must.
Such a delicious meal! Our wait staff was excellent as well.
