Amazing food!!! Amazing service! Long live Walter! Great to meet Joseph from Sicily!
My husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary here last night and WOW. Everything was incredible.
Appetizer: We did the grilled portobello topped with goat cheese and pine nuts. It was served with a baby spinach salad and it was delicious.
My Entree: I'm a vegetarian so I got the sacchetti filled with cheese and black truffles with a creamy Marsala sauce. We paid the extra for the black truffle shavings on top and it was 100% worth it.
My Husband's: The Veal loin scaloppine with wild mushrooms and creamy Marsala sauce. He also added the truffle shavings.
Dessert: tiramisu and creme brûlée, both were amazing.
We both had craft cocktails and they were very good and reasonably priced.
The service was outstanding and everyone who served us wished us a happy anniversary. Even got complimentary champagne with dessert. Will definitely make La Grotta our go to spot for celebrating special occasions. We can't wait to go back.
My Dad started an accounting firm around 1982 and Sergio, who had just opened La Grotta, was one of his first clients. So La Grotta was always my parents favorite. I went a couple of times in the 90’s. It was always good. Became a foodie and frequent trendy restaurants but went to La Grotta last week. It was fabulous. Great food, cocktails, wine and the atmosphere was fabulous. I’ll definitely be back regularly.
We have dined at La Grotta on numerous occasions. This one was for my wife's birthday. As expected the service was impeccable and the cuisine delicious! The waitstaff paid us great attention and saw to all of our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys Italian cuisine.
Have been there twice in the last week, and loved it both times. Plan to be there on a regular basis.
The wild mushroom rissoto with truffles was just perfect, and the appetizer portion was surprisingly generous. A great selection of wines by the glass gave me a chance to try a wonderful A marine. The only regret was that I was driving and couldn't visit their really well stocked bar. Next time I'll Uber.
It was exceptional, as always. It can easily be said that this is the best restaurant in the US. We travel a lot and go to the best restaurant everywhere we go. The only other place I can put on the same level is Le Bernadin from New York. Eric Ripert is a phenomenal chef there but the atmosphere at Le Bernadin leaves a little extra to be desired and service is very stuffy.
So there it is. La Grotta is the best of the best of the best.
I’m sure all of you reading this will agree.
The ONLY complaint I have is where the hostess sat us on a Saturday might @ 6. We had reservations and it appeared we were one of the first few parties at LaGrotto.
She sat us at the table next to the bar facing the kitchen. I asked her if we could have a table away from the bar and kitchen. She politely refused our request. she said those other tables were already reserved. I didn't persist, but I was NOT happy. There were multiple tables that weren't yet occupied : there were only 5 people in our party: It seems to me that she should have accommodated our request.
Otherwise, the food, service, and atmosphere??? EXCELLENT
It was superb food - we had a great view of the christmas tree outside. Everybody (including my 18 month old son) loved the calamari with pesto and the mussels for the appetizers. For entrees, we loved the wild mushroom risotto with truffles and the catch of the day. Their side pasta was also excellent. Great food and amount for the price - would go there again!
What an AMAZING eating experience!!! Walter is the B.E.S.T. server in Atlanta!!! He makes the meal better!!!
