La Grotta is tucked away in the heart of the Buckhead residential district and overlooks the lush gardens of the condo courtyard in which it is located. La Grotta literally means "the cave" in Italian and was named such for its cavernous and warm setting. The La Grotta staff is also well known and regarded for its vast knowledge of its customers, the food, diverse knowledge of languages (our staff speaks Italian, Spanish, French & German) and attention to detail. The menu specializes in Northern Italian cuisine with seasonal changes to reflect freshness of ingredients with a focus on locally grown produce.

Hands down our favorite Italian in Atlanta. We had our rehearsal dinner here in May 2021, so we came here for our 2nd anniversary. Always incredible service, food, and a lovely atmosphere. The truffle risotto is my favorite dish in the entire world! The atmosphere is so relaxing, no one was on their phones, and actual conversation was being had by everyone. This is what dining out should always be like. They brought us each a glass of prosecco at the end to celebrate! Highly recommend this place for incredible food, service and atmosphere.

I have always driven by La Grotta, and finally decided to stop in. This restaurant has a great reputation in Atlanta. The entrance is a little confusing. You arrive and it appears to be a dated condo building for seniors. However, you walk in and take the elevator down to the to the bottom level and you see the restaurant and entry way. There is a nice ambiance here. The food was really good. The appetizer was all in all my favorite part— it was a Truffle Parmesan pasta and walnut dish. 10/10. ORDER THIS if you decide to dine here. The servers were attentive, and I’m a big fan of the Parmesan and fresh cracked black pepper offering after each dish is brought to the table. The main dining room is a bit loud/compact, so next time I would potentially choose to sit outside, especially on a nice evening. Overall, I really enjoyed it here, thought it was great Italian food with good service to match — I would come back.

As always, the food was great and love the patio - gorgeous evening. That said, we were seated between two large parties who clearly had priority when it came to service. Bread service took 30 minutes (post seating), wine for dinner came when the entree was nearly gone, and the server was clearly focused on the very loud party next to us as well as the regulars on the other side (on whom the manager doted). Will go back but really hope for a better service experience.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was as La Grotta. After having a Murphy’s Law of a day, I was over an hour late for my own birthday dinner reservation. I rushed in shortly before closing, really upset and sure everything was ruined. Instead, the restaurant was kind enough to have already seated my party without me and I was greeted by a smiling Raoul who took amazing care of us. They didn’t rush us despite having every reason they should, and the food was absolutely amazing. La Grotta really turned around a disaster of a day with their delicious food and warm, friendly service. Will absolutely be back!
