As always, La Grenouille had incredible food, great service, beautiful flowers. Now they also have music and it made it the best experience of my year!
Standard fare. My dinner was warm and I sent it back. When it was returned they neglected to add the sauces to make it palatable. The best thing about the dinner were the people seated around us. We won’t go back
Lovely decor. Less packed in than Pre Covid
Onion soup and frog legs very tasty but could have been served warmer
Attentive service without being overbearing.
Good wine list but too high a markup
Great food and loved the special attention for a birthday celebration!
This was our first meal in NY City for our vacation with my sister, we came to celebrate my birthday with my sister.
The food was delicious, and the restaurant is beautiful!
The desert was definitely the best I had all weekend!
The most beautiful restaurant in NYC. Old fashioned in a good way and a treat to enjoy the ambiance and food.
Always a wonderful experience and can’t wait to return. I always miss the flowers when I’m not there.
Ambiance and service were amazing! For the price, food was disappointing. Prices for beverages were outrageous from my perspective ($25 for a vodka and tonic). Definitely save your pennies and visit on a special occasion!
Great dinner and Jazz show
Food and service were average. Be sure to request a seat on the first floor where all of the ambiance and character along with live music is. Sitting on the top floor was disappointing and completely changed the flavor of the restaurant.
Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. The soufflé is second to none.
Birthday dinner. Food ok. Very mature crowd. Jazz singer is cringe worthy. Beautiful flowers
La Grenouille has remained consistently terrific since my 1st visit in the 80’s. The food, the ambience, the romantic environment—even the new jazz (on certain nights) is superb!
Beautiful in every way. We were warmly greeted by the owner who graciously allowed us to choose the location of our table. Superb food prepared and served in a traditional manner rarely seen in recent years. The profusion of beautifully arranged fresh flowers is unlike anything you will see in any other restaurant. I do not live in New York so I will not be able to eat here often but it will certainly be my first choice for fine dining whenever I return to the city.
A wonderful evening! Chocolate soufflé best ever. Truly.
We were ripped off. We ordered three appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, plus drinks. Food was supposed to be around $220. The waiter instead assumed we wanted two prix fixe meals, plus two desserts, plus an extra appetizer. The cost was almost $200 more than what we ordered for what amounted to a few chips, nuts, and cookies. We assumed these were complimentary. We were also charged $20 for bottled water we didn't order. The total was over $600, when we were expecting closer to $400. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth about this whole city.
Amazing food and service. The soufflé was to die for!
Such a lovely room and a respite from the cacophony of the city. Food was wonderful. Service was great.
My absolute favorite New York restaurant for lunch or dinner for any time or for any occasion.
We ate at the outdoor dining gazebo- inspired room. It was a lovely night, the servers were very attentive and the menu, though not as elaborate as the original one, provided many wonderful choices. I would recommend this whole-heartedly.
Excellent service that made us have a truly magical evening. Felt like a story book - we will never forget this night!
The food was very good, a little pricey but good.
The service was excellent.
The restaurant is a little old fashioned and outdated, as you can tell with the age of the clientele.
There were two musicians that were quite good but then the owner decided to sing and that was a little cheesy.
An elegant sublime dining experience.
Online there is a four square menu that suggests a pre-fixe menu that is $39 for the early birds. When we arrived at 4:45 we were given the evening menue where pre-dice is $151. A big difference!! I inquired about the early menu and was given that but told they’ve never had a pre-fixe price for it. I informed our Captain (who we really liked) that there is mid information online. He said that wasn’t his job, he would notify management. He never got back to us about it. The whole thing was very awkward and so we just bit the bullet and got the $151 meal. Though service and ambiance was incredible, the food was not very flavorful, the chicken was dry, the bread items seemed stale, and the quality of taste was no where near worth the cost. It was a special occasion and they did a lot to make it special (sang happy birthday in French) but it felt very overpriced and sadly misleading.
This was my first time dining at La Grenouille, my date had suggested it and I was all for a new place to try! This lovely space, adorned with flowers in every corner, was simply charming! To my absolute delight, there was a band and singer! They were incredibly good and that just added to the ambiance ☺️.
And then the food! Oh my was I happy! Every dish done to perfection, hard to not try everything on the menu (specials too)… Cannot say enough about the soufflé selection, we landed on the pistachio soufflé and it was superb!
Just can’t wait to return for more!!
Outstanding. Welcomed warmly on arrival. Safety protocols deftly engaged. Our Captain Roger was superb. Service was extraordinary. Atmosphere, décor, music, drinks and suggested menu choices made an exquisite experience. The Pistachio Souffle was sublime.
Very festive and friendly atmosphere of old world french culinary masterpieces
Overall I enjoyed my birthday at La Grenouille. I’d gone because it was a favorite of my grandfather’s. I ordered the sole and was told they were out. It was still relatively early in the evening. I understand, certain popular dishes sell out. However, after we’d been served and were almost finished, a nearby table was served sole. This was long after I placed my order. I’m not overly upset but I did find it very odd.
The food and wine were overpriced and chicken was dry as a bone. But foie gras was exceptional. The dining room was gorgeous and lavish and the staff and owner personable. Lovely live band, which was a treat.
Perfect experience from start to finish. La Grenouille nails every detail — we can’t wait to come back!
Excellent dining experience! Delicious cuisine, outstanding service, gorgeous decor and very cozy atmosphere!
Great service and food quality
Our finest meal and most fun evening out since March 2, 2020. Firing on all cylinders. Room was full; classics like fois gras terrine and griiled Dover sole executed perfectly. Souffles earned their reputation. Owner Phillippe - constant attentive presence beginning with arrival greeting and lending panache to the new practice of live entertainment. Outstanding in every way and worth every penny. There is not a more glamorous dining room in the city—the flowers dazzle, while the lighting flatters.
Love the new entertainment!
Yet another wonderful dinner at “the Frog”. We can’t wait to come back for another soufflé.
This was a great evening. From the minute you walk in and smell fresh flowers to the luxurious velvet banquettes to the character of the servers and host staff to the amazing food - then the live jazz show- GREAT GREAT GREAT. thank you all for your hospitality and spirit of NYC.
The waiters are very attentive ! The owner entertainer was awesome , he greet his guests table to table snd sing to them ! The ambiance was so beautiful a great place for a date, anniversary, birthdays and special occasions !! The food are great but the service is impeccable !!
I had my birthday dinner at La Grenouille. I am a vegetarian and there aren't many (or even few) options to pick from. Even the bread was dry. Having said that, I would recommend this place for the ambience, service and drinks.
It is an expensive restaurant and it is known for being pricey, so it is unfair to comment / complain about it. So let me warn you, it is pricey, expect to pay $200 per head.
Amazing service and very romantic environment. The food was to die for, will be going here again for my aniversary.
Beutoful 1st time experience. Service was top notch. Would return again for sure.
