La Grenouille Ratings and Reviews
A memory each time we visit and it is by far not only our favorite restaurant in NY C but a special place for any occasion. The hand arranged flowers by the owner to the most professional staff who know how to handle any customer’s wishes ..and with not being too intrusive . Can’t say anything but...you can not do better for French cuisine and ambience and service in NYC
La Grenouillle is that last of the classic French palaces in NYC. Extraordinary setting for fine modernized French classic dishes. Tableside preparation by ultra-professional Captains and waiters. Filet of Sole; Frog's Legs; Tournedos; Lamb Chops; Sweetbreads; Champagne Chicken. Please don't miss a gorgeous Souffle' for dessert.
La Grenouille is one of our favorite restaurants in the world as well as being our favorite dining experience in Manhattan.
It’s traditional French but definitely not tired. The staff is sharp and the kitchen is always on point. We have never been disappointed here.
Looking forward to our next trip to La Grenouille
Restaurants like la Grenouille have unfortunately become increasingly rare. The food and service were excellent, the decor, beautiful and the ambiance overall is elegant yet welcoming. However, what sets La Grenouille apart is the ability to have a conversation without struggling to hear over the din from all the other diners' conversations. Highly recommend!
Perhaps the last of the New York Grande Dame French Restaurants, it is, however, still a top choice for excellent food and service and worthy of its reputation. Grilled Dover sole was fabulous! Service was, of course, top notch as one would expect. Captain struck the right balance between welcoming and professional. This experience of great food and great service is, of course, what you pay the big bucks for. Will always go back, particularly for a special occasion. My only complaint (and very minor) is that I am not a big fan of the side-by-side seating that predominates their tables for 2 and 4. If you can, get a corner table.
This was truly a very beautiful and romantic restaurant, plus the food was excellent. The service was superb. The quality of this restaurant is very hard to find today. Loved every minute that we were there. Will definitely dine there the next time we are in New York City.
This was my idea of dining out in old fashioned style. as I remember from my youth in Europe. It has never disappointed in any category---food, courtesy of staff, ambiance (although I prefer the flowers of a warmer season. We all felt as if we were in a dream world.
We enjoyed an amazing dinner at La Grenouille. At Christmastime, we visit NYC to see Rockefeller Center and go to Handel's "Messiah" at Carnegie Hall. We always look for a special place to have dinner before the performance. After much searching, we settled on La Grenouille, and it could not have been a more perfect choice. We booked a 5:00 p.m. table and ordered from the pre-theater menu. At first we were handed the full prix-fix menu (which is much more expensive), but when we mentioned we wanted the pre-theater menu, they readily switched without a problem. The ambience of the dining room is incomparable. Beautiful lighting, colors, gorgeous flowers on the table - everything perfect. The service and attention to detail was superb - we felt like royalty. And the food was delicious. It was nice to have little extra tastes of cheese pastries arrive at the table, and sweets at the end of the meal. Hearing all of the French being spoken, and even getting to use a little of our own was a treat. We have never had a better dining experience - it was magical.
Le Grenouille is absolute perfection. The staff is attentive and professional. The food is divine. The attention to detail in every aspect is impressive, and the floral arrangements are gorgeous. From the moment you walk in the door you know you are in a very special place.
Wanted fine dining for luncheon celebration of spouse’s birthday - a very special occasion. We were graciously welcomed and seated although we were 30 minutes early. Waiters and service staff were exceptional and attentive. We both had 3-cheese onion soup-deliciously delicate. Our entrees were as equally tasty. Our waiter recommended a French Chenin blanc which complimented our meal well. Finally, a classic dessert grand marnier soufflé baked to perfection. In addition to the service and food, the ambiance was perfect for the holidays. Our expectations were exceeded and we highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining.
Very prompt wait staff and captain. Very friendly and personable, also very nice bartender to chat with while our table was being prepared. Many people working in the restaurant but all seem to work smoothly in unison. Food quality is top notch. Had the prefix with the tuna grade sushi, filet mignon and waygu beef, finishing off with the pistachio soufflé... the soufflé is amaaaaaaazing!!!
