La Grenouille never disappoints! My wife’s favorite restaurant for her birthday. The staff is always so outstanding, and it is wonderful to see familiar faces every time we visit. Old school service without the stuffiness. One of the very best restaurants in NYC!

Quintessential French! It’s as if you are in Paris! Waiters with strong French accents, white tablecloths , Flowers on every table, impeccable service. Authentic French dishes like Frogs legs, duck, foie gras, filet. The soufflé as a desert with their smooth house coffee is to die for! A must place to go for those special dinners that celebrate. My number one French restaurant .
Prices are not bargain range, but I say worth
It for the experience , because there is no other restaurant like this anywhere in New York.

The food is out of this world, and the ambience is unmatched, with flowers
everywhere. Our only complaint is that we were rushed. We arrived at 7:30 p.m.,
had drinks and the full prix-fixe dinner, followed by espresso, and were out by 9:05
p.m. As our empty appetizer dishes were being removed, our entrees were
served, without a break in between. For $172 per person, plus drinks, tax and
tip, the experience should last 2 and 1/2 hours or so.

Great intimate spot located in Midtown. Fresh flowers at each table adds to the romantic atmosphere. The Captain and wait staff were tremendous. One guest has Gluten sensitivity, and they were able to accommodate that readily. Price fixe dinner with excellent options for all 3 courses. Food was delicious, great presentation, and more than adequate to fill us up! Although very expensive, well worth being spoiled for a special occasions.

We were seated upstairs. I would not recommend it in winter. Although the room is lovely, the fireplace is not properly ventilated so to room smelled like smoke. When you are paying that kind of money for food, and you can't properly taste it because of the smoke, it is not worth it. My daughter and I both were congested and had coughs afterwards, from the smoke. Also, I did not feel the quality of the food and the portions lived up to how it used to be - you can get much better quality French food in the city for less money. The service was wonderful, though.

Highly anticipated but the actual experience left us a bit disappointed. Ambience is beautiful but the meal was too routine and too heavy on the portions. In fact when my wife did not complete her appetizer or entree, the, wait staff expressed their disbelief and appeared to be offended. The food does not warrant a price fixe at $172/person...nor does the lack of providing a drink menu warrant the ultimate cost. And finally, providing separate tips for the waiter and captain is something I am not accustomed to and have been to many restaurants in many countries. Oh well, we can cross that off the list and try something new the next time.

This was my second visit to Le Grenouille. The first time was about 15 years ago. It was still wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is excellent and the service is top notch. We ordered from the pre-theatre menu. Prices were reasonable for NYC. Their fix priced menu is pricey and I think it would be too much food for me(several courses). With the pre-theatre menu they bring you little extras throughout the meal (appetizer crackers, dessert cookies and 6 small truffles). Everything was delicious. There are not many restaurants left that provide the level of service and food that Le Grenouille does year after year. Hope to go back the next time we are in NYC.

I'm confident that anyone who is thinking of dining at La Grenouille has had many wonderful dining experiences, in all sorts of wonderful locations, with wonderful food, wonderful service, etc. Right--me, too. But this is different. The hardest part is finding the words to articulate what it is that's unique here. In a way, you'll feel like extras on a movie set, maybe a period piece about living the high life back in the 60s or 70s. The lack of change since that time is certainly one of the things we love about La Grenouille in the 21st century...really, there was no reason to change. Anything. It's that perfect.

Often when we go out, I really don't feel like "dressing for dinner." Really, who cares? Yet I love the fact that men are required to wear jackets here. It really changes the vibe in a cool, old school way. There are a million restaurants that have ended this requirement, if indeed they ever had it, so these days, it's one more nice touch that signals the attention to detail and the sophisticated style of this fabulous throwback restaurant.

This is a very special place. The foie gras divine. The Grand Mariner soufflé heavenly. The ambience is a little on the “romantic” side for a business lunch but you can hear each other talk and there is space on the table to open a notebook and take notes.

This place is called the frog so right off the bat I know it's about to be some straight fire. First comes this little plate which I wasn't loving but that's not the important part. The important part was the artichoke carpaccio with quail eggs... When I tell you the artichoke carpaccio had me feeling like I was low temping 90u rosin pressed at 120 degrees I mean this stuff was just the gas. The flavors danced on my tongue like Bardi used to do and kept dancing even after I ate the whole thing. If you want the rosin of French food this be it.

The last of the real French restaurants in Manhattan, ie authentic , not phony nor gimmicky, classical French cuisine. Delicious and at the same time not heavy at all. Hopefully they will not be wiped out by the moronic millenials and their hopeless tastes.

I've been a regular customer of the restaurant for decades. None-the-less, this tasting menu was one of the finest meals that I have ever had there. The owner himself asked my preferences, including what I wanted and excluding what I did not want, so that it all an all-star dinner. The occasion was the birthday of my best friend
