The sole was cooked perfectly. This place has beautiful ambience and flower arrangements. It is a little pricey but the soufflé was the best part. Loved it! Nice French experience, I would not come here unless it’s a special occasion due to the price. Dinner for three was over $600.

Unparalleled enjoyment in a traditional setting. Fresh flowers, pampered service and excellent food make this restaurant unique. The perfect departure for diners who want a reprieve from the sleek and edgy.

I believe this restaurant is way overpriced. I came here for dinner with my granddaughters, we were six, and we were told we had to take a fixed menu which is 176 $, they don't serve a la carte. . If you add a price of three dishes included to the fixed menu, it'l never come to 176 $. However, the service is nice, the flowers are the best in the city, the souffle is gorgeous.
Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this experience .
We do not plan to return.

I was really disappointed in this restaurant. I fully understood it was not a cheap date, but expected to get a higher level of service. The waiter was very unhelpful in deciding on the evenings choices, almost like we were putting him out with every question we had..

Have been here many times before and once again everything was spectacular. It is wonderful to enjoy a perfectly prepared meal served by staff who is trained to know every minute detail about every item on their menu and perfect wines to pair with them. The Dover sole with mustard sauce is exquisite. Two of guests had the specials for the evening and couldn't stop raving about them. The ambiance is old fashioned elegance with magnificent flowers.

I remember going to this restaurant when I was a child (albeit a very well behaved one). I happened to be in the neighborhood and chanced upon a last minute reservation. This return visit lived up to all of my expectations and exceeded them. Not only was the service warm and impeccable, but we had the most sumptuous quenelles that quite literally are the best I've ever eaten; even better than I remembered! The oeufs a la neige were plump and perfectly textured and the creme anglaise was divine. Overall, we had a hugely enjoyable meal and I hope to return again soon.

This restaurant is a beauty; a slice of old New York. Posh, fragrant with flowers -- a display worthy of any old architectural digest. Drinking in the aroma of the flowers and sipping on a glass of Paul Roget champagne made an evening worth memory. And oh my, the food was superb. This is a place where you can make a memory.

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful lunch at La Grenouille prior to seeing the show, Hamilton. We were there as part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. From the time we walked into the door, we were greeted and quickly brought to a very comfortable corner banquette. The dining room is as beautiful as many have commented previously. The fresh flowers are stunning and are done in tasteful hues that complement the decor perfectly. Great, great atmosphere. My husband was very happy with his beef entree, as was I with the lobster salad with grapefruit. We shared the chocolate souffle, which was thoughtfully brought with a lit candle and well-wishes from all the staff on our anniversary celebration. When we weren't sure which topping to order with the souffle, they just brought both! {we loved the Grand marnier sauce however}. We found the service to be on point, responsive, and friendly. We would definitely go back. Thanks to all at La Grenouille!

This is without doubt the most hideously overpriced restaurant in NYC, therefore in the US. The prix fixe menu at $172 for three courses is obscene. Food is good, but not great by any means. Fair value is maybe $110 at most. Never again.

It's my favorite NYC restaurant. The food is wonderful -- I ordered a lobster salad as a starter and there was at least a full lobster tail equivalent in the salad. The filet of sole was overpriced ($14 additional) and I prefer it in a velvety cream sauce, as it was once served, rather than fried. But the filet was large -- and tender. Dessert was the soufflé, and, as usual, a lovely delicacy.

The flower arrangements both on the table and against the walls are spectacular.

We picked this restaurant for a birthday celebration because we'd been there several times before and loved the beautiful dining room. And it's still spectacularly beautiful, at least the short glimpse we had of it. Unfortunately, we ended up in the upstairs room, that while pleasant, wasn't the dramatic, flower-filled setting we'd come to love over the years (and that was a big part of the reason we went there for this celebration). It would have been nice if they had told us ahead of time they were going to stick us in no man's land so we could have had the option of doing something different, or coming there at a different time. The food was pretty much what we did expect. It's well prepared, classic French food. The service however, was way too speedy. We ordered three bottles of wine in all, champagne to sip while reviewing the menu, a white to go with the first course and a red to go with the second course. We hadn't even gotten our champagne or had time to look at the menu when the waiter was there wanting to take our order. Courses came very quickly, leaving us little time to savor our meal or drink our wine. In all, the cost far exceeded the pleasure of the experience. Not sure we'll go back.

I believe this restaurant is way overpriced. I came here to try frog legs which are difficult to find in the city. Because I wanted to try this particular dish, I had to take a fixed menu which is 176 $, they don't serve it a la carte.
The frog legs were not so good as in Paris. Actually they put so much garlic in it, you can hardly feel the taste. If you add a price of three dishes included to the fixed menu, it'l never come to 176 $. However, the service is nice, the flowers are the best in the city, the souffle is gorgeous.

Never disappoints when you can snag a reservation. On the pricey side but the service is absolutely perfection. The only disappointment was the cherries flambe, still a bit on the raw side. The Chocolate Souffle was the perfect ending for a birthday dinner.

service was good but there is definitely a focus on the "rich & quietly famous" customers. we were one, if not the only minority there, which is fine. food was quite delicious and on point, but... for that price i know many places who can provide the same... but you can't be the traditional french waiting service.

This was my third visit to La G in the last year. It is an absolutely beautiful space. I’m afraid I must say, I think the food has deteriorated. My seabass was dry And the tataki de Thon was sloppy. I will say that the smoked salmon with caviar was a lovely stand out.
