Such an elegant ambience with gorgeous flowers, white-glove (but not stuffy) service and wonderful food. Gracious management. A true New York experience. Go for the beautiful dining room. Really enjoyed it.
Our experience was lovely, the service was wonderful, but the crab cake entree , although delicious, was too tiny. There should have been at least two crab cakes for the entree selection.
We felt kind of rushed and were placed at a very busy spot in the restaurant at 5:15. The décor is classic, but the food just mediocre. We could not enjoy the food since it brought out one plate after another and really could not enjoy the experience as a whole. The price is as you would expect, which would not be a problem, but for the quality of food. The wait service was fine. Net net, given the declining number of good French restaurants around, this place will survive.
A fabulous midtown choice for classic French is a beautiful setting, the pre-theater dinner menus is a gem, the service and conviviality from the servers make it that much better!
A.classic. Honestly, there is nothing more to say.
The service was great. My boyfriend and I were there to celebrate his birthday. The waiters sang birthday song in French for him. Sweet!
La Grenouille never disappoints! My wife’s favorite restaurant for her birthday. The staff is always so outstanding, and it is wonderful to see familiar faces every time we visit. Old school service without the stuffiness. One of the very best restaurants in NYC!
We loved it, everything was special. Thank your to you all.
Reasturant needs to update Decor and food . Service was excellent but food taste and quality mediocre and it came very fast like it was prepared . Definitely not a repeat needs a lot of work on food and decor
Please remove those ugly and outdated flowers on the table and in the restaurant. Remove the ugly color of seating and make it more casual. I had to wear a jacket which I almost refused and left the restaurant.
exceeded our expectations. dinner and service could not have been more exceptional
Quintessential French! It’s as if you are in Paris! Waiters with strong French accents, white tablecloths , Flowers on every table, impeccable service. Authentic French dishes like Frogs legs, duck, foie gras, filet. The soufflé as a desert with their smooth house coffee is to die for! A must place to go for those special dinners that celebrate. My number one French restaurant .
Prices are not bargain range, but I say worth
It for the experience , because there is no other restaurant like this anywhere in New York.
Food was was very dissapointing, seared fogroie was cold ,crab cake soso, small portions,
The last classic haute cuisine restaurant in the city. Lovely floral arrangements. Superb service.
It is sheer perfection always.
Elegant, romantic and exquisite food. A wonderful experience for an anniversary dinner.
The food is out of this world, and the ambience is unmatched, with flowers
everywhere. Our only complaint is that we were rushed. We arrived at 7:30 p.m.,
had drinks and the full prix-fixe dinner, followed by espresso, and were out by 9:05
p.m. As our empty appetizer dishes were being removed, our entrees were
served, without a break in between. For $172 per person, plus drinks, tax and
tip, the experience should last 2 and 1/2 hours or so.
Great intimate spot located in Midtown. Fresh flowers at each table adds to the romantic atmosphere. The Captain and wait staff were tremendous. One guest has Gluten sensitivity, and they were able to accommodate that readily. Price fixe dinner with excellent options for all 3 courses. Food was delicious, great presentation, and more than adequate to fill us up! Although very expensive, well worth being spoiled for a special occasions.
Lovely old world New York restaurant with excellent food, impeccable service and lovely ambiance.
Fine dining experience with a great menu and delicious food. The service was attentive and above and beyond. Definitely would recommend!
We were seated upstairs. I would not recommend it in winter. Although the room is lovely, the fireplace is not properly ventilated so to room smelled like smoke. When you are paying that kind of money for food, and you can't properly taste it because of the smoke, it is not worth it. My daughter and I both were congested and had coughs afterwards, from the smoke. Also, I did not feel the quality of the food and the portions lived up to how it used to be - you can get much better quality French food in the city for less money. The service was wonderful, though.
