Always top in their game and one of our most iconic restaurants. Thank you for being as gracious and welcoming during such a difficult time.
Grenouille is my all time favorite restaurant where my husband and I have spent many anniversaries and birthdays. It has beautiful ambience, lighting and floral arrangements, and it’s staff and of course dining experience is beyond compare.
La Grenouille lived up to everything I had ever heard about it. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Very consistent over the years! Great for special occasion but it’s NYC so it’s expensive but worth every penny. Service, presentation, staff everything is impeccable.
Amazing service. Prettiest restaurant I have ever been to. The chocolate soufflé was simply heavenly.
It is always a treat to eat at La Grenouille when visiting New York. This visit was no exception. It is a favorite of mine!
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and had the most enjoyably lunch. Bertrand was wonderful as always!
oysters, crab, cheese soufflé, lobster ravioli, chicken pot pie and...crepe flambé for dessert! Could not have asked for more. Can’t wait to return.
This Grande Dame of restaurants is still going strong. Lunch is a good deal at $83 even if there is a supplement for frogs legs, their namesake dish. They also charge a supplement for Dover Sole but it is a large one and cooked to perfection.
The highlight of the meal was a captain's recommendation of a Pistachio Souffle. He said it was his favorite but they also had another 10 or so to choose from. You can see why they have been around for 59 years.
This was a special lunch for my birthday. We both had three courses. Husband had French onion soup followed by Dover Sole and a hazelnut souffle. Everything he had was reportedly wonderful. I had the pate duo, the fish with boulliabase sauce followed by a caramel souffle. My pate serving was quite small, although it is rich. The fish---scallop, shrimp, salmon and sea bass was good but the shrimp was a bit overcooked as was the salmon. The scallop was perfect. I wish I knew their secret to their wonderful souffles!
Ambiance was wonderful with soaring arrangements of forced spring flowering branches and abundant fresh flowers on every table along with table lamps with flattering light. Service is friendly but not overly familiar---just gracious. We can't wait to go again!
One of the nicest dining experiences I’ve had!
There is no place quite like it on earth, let alone New York City. It is surely the last bastion of civility.
The flowers and the service are beyond perfect. I do believe that it is the only restaurant left in New Yor where people dress and make an effort for.
Le Grenouille remains the finest restaurant in Manhattan, bar none. It is legendary for a reason and no other restaurant comes close.
A great restaurant and the most beautiful dining room in New York.
La Grenouille remains unparalleled in NYC. Exceptional on every level from start to finish. Truly extraordinary.
It was an early anniversary dinner and one of the best meals of our lives. I can see why it is such a staple of the BYC dining scene. We will be back, again. It was spectacular!
Beautiful room and food, wonderful service - Jean-Pierre makes everybody feel like a beloved regular!
This was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to the food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Went there last year for our anniversary and we had to go back this year. Keep up the good work
Such a wonderful experience! The dining room was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the service was so wonderful!!
Absolutely superb experience! Fantastic atmosphere and the staff was incredible. Highly recommend!
Our evening at La Grenouille was memorable. The ambience established a dining experience in beautiful flower-filled surroundings with elegant table settings. Gracious staff took our dinner requests and presented them to us at the appropriate time. The wine list provided an abundance of choices to accompany our selections of Lobster Bisque and La Salade Grenouille, Boeuf Bourguignon and Apple Tarte. Our delicious dinner was served by the professional and almost invisible staff. We savored our coffee and then asked for the bill. There was no rush to complete the evening even though we had selected the pre-theatre offering. Perfection.
Wonderful food, quiet atmosphere and fantastic service, what else needs to be said?
We came to La Grenouille to celebrate our anniversary.
We arrived a little early for our reservation so we took a seat at the bar. It was a pleasure to meet the bartender Tony and taste some of his drink creations! Best cosmo ever!
The tasting menu was wonderful, as always, and service from Bertrand was impeccable. This is a special place, not to be missed. If you appreciate classic, traditional French food and a magical atmosphere, La Grenouille is for you.
Most beautiful restaurant in NYC
Simply the best cheese soufflé in all of NYC. I’m a patron 3-4 times a year and for old school NY it is wonderful. A throwback.
Food, service and environment were outstanding.
Certainly a special place.
Wonderful!!! We loved everything about it
Most beautiful restaurant in Manhattan. The flowers are magnificent, and the best French food outside of France! Simply the best!
Great romantic place for special occasions, dates or anniversaries.
1. Overall - the flower arrangements were amazing and the entire place had floral aroma.
2. Food - the tastes of our selections were great, appetizer portion a bit smaller than I expected but main course and desert were right amount.
3. Service - everyone was very attentive and ensure we're having everything we needed. from start to finish.
4. Price - it's a fancy place so be ready to open your wallet. well worth it for those special dates.
The Friend would need to know the price range, but YES! This is a top New York City restaurant. More like a family restaurant for local NYC wealth. The service is excellent and welcoming on occasion.
The Menu is ‘French superior recipes’, excellent wines and even a surprise bit of entertainment now and then. The Valentine lunch clientele were treated to a charming serenade by Philippe one of the owners. Now this is not a regular event but it was thoroughly charming nonetheless. Still one should not count on such charm. This is a serious French restaurant renown for excellent service, superior food and beautiful atmosphere. We had not been there for a year yet one the servers José recognized and greeted us with an honest welcome, nice. Of course the owners are always gracious and accommodating as well.
Excellent service,. Were taken right away with our OpenTable reservation. Food choice was great and decoration and ambiance well done.
Still the word excellence applies! Always a pleasure and memorable experience.
Outstanding, personal (and personable!), and classic service adds to the testimonial French ambiance. Food was flawless with our selections ranging from foie grad ravioli to oysters to duck to Dover sole. Wines were well selected.
The only downside? It doesn’t come cheap. But for a rare dining experience - and great evening out...we were there 3+ hours but the time flew by - it is worth it
Wonderful dinning experience. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, food excellant, soufflé was perfect. Ambiance is special, with noise level, allowing for quiet conversation. Wine prices bit high and corkage $100, but I guess it is worth it if you bring an appropriate bottle. Will return on special occasions and when budget allows for it. Anyway kudos to all.
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were treated with the utmost respect and care. Its been a long time since I was fortunate enough to experience elegance like this in New York, along with the quality of food and wine.
So please treat yourself to the last bastion of a what dining should be
Food was good & so was the service. The atmosphere was very nice. The portions for the price were like appetizers.
It was my first trip to New York and my first restaurant. We ate off the pre theater menu, which was a very good value. The place smelled like a rose garden. Fresh beautiful flowers everywhere. The service and food were excellent. I felt very spoiled and would definitely recommend!
Most polite very gracious 35 years of amazing food and service totally amazing as ever thank you for a great experience
The lobster medallion salad (with the exception of the lobster meat) was cold as ice. It clearly had been made that morning and was sitting in a fridge waiting to be ordered. Not cool when you consider how much they charge for it. Cold avocado and lettuces simply don’t have the rich flavors they do when they are served at room temperature. You would think a high-end restaurant staff would be aware of this. And the bouillabaisse I ordered as a main had very little taste. Very disappointing. The chocolate soufflé, on the other hand, was the one really good part of the meal. And service was mediocre at best and gruff at times. Again, not cool. I won’t be going back there for sure.
Very disappointing. The food was average & in very small portions. The staff was polite, but unfriendly & condescending. For the price, it should have met a much higher standard. It’s no wonder that it’s the last of its kind.
