Glorious! Perfect for a special occasion.
Celebrated my birthday here and the food was INCREDIBLE! A perfect, romantic, classic, and timeless environment. Definitely a great place to take a date or celebrate a special occasion.
Felipe was an outstanding host and the food and service matched the hospitality.
Will be a must next time we are in the Big Apple.
This is the last great classical French restaurant in New York, and still one of the most beautiful. The service is warm and welcoming, regardless of whether or not you are a "regular" or a celebrity. We eat at La Grenouille once or twice a year, and we are always greeted as if they remember us. Maybe they do! The food is uniformly exquisite, in moderate proportions, which are just right if you don't want to feel over-stuffed. A variety of dessert souffles are a specialty.
The food was mediocre and the price exorbitant
As usual and never disappointed. Epitomizes New York at its finest. Impeccable service, fantastic food served artfully, and a stunningly beautiful setting. Always a treat to enjoy a meal here
Le cadre magnifique, avec un accueil et un service parfait.
la table excellente avec un chef à l'écoute de vos désirs.
Perfect service (even for a woman dining alone...), a fantastic room and great food and wine. I felt well taken care of, well fed, and had a memorable evening.
La Grenouille remains the Diamond standard for fine French cuisine in New York City. There are no negatives . The recent inclusion on Saturday nights of music is an added and engaging plus. Dining here is stellar on all levels z
Quintessential NYC culinary exp - over the top
Service, perfectly cooked meal. Amazing music. Worth checking out on a special occasion.
Wonderful. I enjoyed everything from the best services to the perfect food and ambiance.
Nice to be back
This is a high end dining experience, with a classic French flair. Service is exceptional. Prices are high, but not extraordinary for Manhattan and this level of service.
Not sure what to make of the bandstand (we did not hear the band) but the food was superb “classic French,” as ever: dover sole sauce moutard, quenelles de brochet with champagne sauce and caviar, oysters mignonette, paté de compagne, and soufflés (vanilla and Grand Marnier). The kir royale was a little “pale” but the half bottle selection (Veuve Cliquot, 80$) remains a great value. And the staff and management are magnifique!
- incredible service
- lovely food
- romantic setting
Last of the Grande Dame restaurants in NYC. Fabulous!!
Outstanding service cuisine and ambiance Don’t miss the soufflé
We've been coming for more than ten years, and this remains a lovely experience in every dimension. Beautiful French food cooked to perfection, and the rhythm of service is especially unbeatable--everything comes exactly when you want it to, you never wait and you never feel rushed.
Everything was perfect! Service was attentive but not too much. We had little neck clams and hearts of palm for starters. Lamb chops with ratatouille and spinach soufflé for main and dessert soufflé. Nothing excessive about presentation, just expertly prepared dishes of the highest calibre. Wine list is good but quite pricey. If you’re looking for the quality of meal and experience from the peak of NYC French dining and don’t mind paying for the experience this is the place. So very glad this restaurant survived COVID and is open again.
Never disappoints! This is one of the greatest dinning rooms in all of NYC.
Im in Paris when I’m at La Grenouille
You deserve 3 stars!!!
Wonderful evening to celebrate a milestone birthday. Food, wine, flowers, music- all were perfection.
Absolutely fabulous food, Service and atmosphere. My only complaint is that there should’ve been a more reasonable option for a bottle of wine… Like less than $65. Or
Lovely environment, highly attentive service , world class cuisine with artistic delivery....this is Manhattan dining at its best.
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed the live jazz.
If you want to experience the old time grandeur of New York City, this traditional French food restaurant is an excellent choice! Wonderful ambiance and service. Bill was a bit of a surprise as they automatically rounded it up to fixed menu price plus a COVID surcharge.
The food was excellent but the service was not what I expect from this restaurant. First, it was too fast. I would have liked more time between courses. Then we asked twice for more whipped cream for the chocolate souffles. They serve the souffle with a very small amount of whipped cream. Why don't they leave a cup of whipped cream on the table? The 2 of us who had the chocolate souffle used the grand marnier sauce that was on the table for the third person with us. They eventually brought another small amount of whipped cream.
Our waiter Jon Pierre was great. Phillip the owner was great also. The jazz band was wonderful too
Haute Cuisine at a legendary midtown institution. Classic French service.
Used to come for business years ago. The restaurant has not changed. Every detail was fine. We were greeted cordially.Flowers were outstanding. Hope to be back soon..
We were reconnecting with a relative we had not seen in 2 years and unfortunately in choosing this restaurant (as we have enjoyed our meals in the past) for a quiet conversational opportunity for great food, it turned out we chose poorly. Jazz quartet was unanticipated by us along with the most crowded indoor space we have experienced in almost 2 years. Thus, the lower reviews. If we had known in advance, we would have moved to a differently location and come another time.
La Grenouille is probably the last haute-French place standing, and there's a reason for that. The level of service might have slipped a notch since the pandemic, and the food isn't going to ever excite you, but it's always incredibly well-prepared and presented. If you're looking to be pampered in the heart of "Madmen"-era patriarchy, this is the place.
This is the best experience we have had at a restaurant in NYC in the last 8 years we’ve lived here. The entire thing is an experience we will never forget. We spent almost 5 hours here and didn’t want to leave!
What a fantastic place, excellent food and service. the Foie gras was the best.
Little pricy but I prefer way better this menu than the 7-10 tasting menus of other places.
Wonderful classic French dinner with elegant service. Dover soul with mustard sauce, two souffles for dessert, Grand Marnier and passionfruit. Beautiful dining room with gorgeous flowers. La Grenouille is always a treat. Thank you for a lovely night.
So beautiful! Great waitstaff and lovely traditional French food. Asparagus vichyssoise and gran manier soufflé we’re amazing. My mother and law wants to try everything on the menu!
Magnificent. Every detail— flowers, lighting, energy, outstanding service and food. Music was a huge added plus. We LOVED it!!
