   Everything about this resto screams elegance and top notch. At our VIP table it was quiet and private. The service from Roger was wonderful. The food was very good and the soufflés were amazing. We went down to the first level bar for a night cap where Tiny took good care of us. We met some nice people at the bar overall it was a wonderful evening. It’s old Paris in NYC at its best.

   This restaurant offers a prix fixe menu ONLY with a choice of two or three courses. The three-course is priced at $198. Some of the listed options on the menu are marked with an ADDITIONAL charge of $10 to $20. The food is ok - I mean just ok and when you weigh against the cost I don't see the value. For two people, with two glasses of wine the cost added up to $500 - I don't see the value!!! The only course we enjoyed was the Soufle - it was one of the best we have had just not worth $500...

   Best classic French restaurant in NYC. The menu has choices you never see anymore. Everything was perfect: the service, the ambiance and especially the food. Note, prices are not for the budget conscious.

   My partner and I loved our dinner at La Grenouille! We ordered the 3-course prix fixe meal along with a glass of wine each. While every course was very delicious and well made, special mentions go to the grand marnier souffle and the duck confit! The amuse bouche cheese palmiers with sesame were also out of this world! The live jazz music was also a treat and definitely enhanced the ambiance as well providing a lovely show. If I had anything that could be improved, it was that it was a little difficult to flag down a waiter at times since it was a busy Saturday night. Still, when we could get them, the servers were very attentive as well as being very considerate of my allergies. While a bit pricey, I would highly recommend La Grenouille for a special occasion where you’d like to have a delicious dinner with a fun show.

    Beautiful decor and excellent service, but the chicken was tough and not very tasty. The appetizer was ordinary . The only part of our dinner that came close to being worth the $600.00 check for two before tip with 2 drinks each, was the soufflés.

    I had wanted to try this place for years, and my wife and I were very happy to finally dine there. Ambiance is very high end French bistro, with pleasantly unobtrusive service. The food was outstanding, starting with a very fresh vichyssoise with asparagus. The mains were done perfectly to order and the wine selection was on point. Our dessert was a wonderful and light warm apple tart. The topper was a jazz combo - guitar, bass and vocals that made the evening special. This is a great place for both special dinners and weekday dates.

    I used to love this restaurant. The food and service are still great. Unfortunately someone had the absolutely stupid idea to add a bandstand and annoying loud music which completely destroys anyone’s dinner. Please go back to being a restaurant, not a jazz club.

    Food - outstanding. Service - outstanding (for the most part). Not being told that you will be paying the price fix menu price regardless of whether you order from the regular menu or not (and at a place like La Grenouille) - inexcusable.

    Place is cozy with beautiful fresh flower all around. Service is very attentive. Tables for two offer sitting side by side which is not available in many places but some tables are still too close. The soufflé was delicious!

    No gluten free bread. Sole on the main menu was good but while ordering, when asked about the source of fish, server stated it was from Florida. When asked again from different server, he said it was from France!

    For that price point, if the food is not innovative, it should be excellent in how it should be prepared traditionally. The food at this restaurant is good, but not noteworthy. The service comes off as forced. The vibe is stiff. But the place is very pretty.

    A romantic trip back in time and across the pond to a truly classic experience. The service was impeccable. The floral arrangements were exquisite. The dessert soufflé was the best we've ever had, by a long shot. It's worth visiting for this course alone; they put great love & care into each dish. It was my wife's birthday & the captain sang her a solo 'happy birthday' in French. It was a personal touch we will never forget. Kudos, La Grenouille, may you be there always.

    Absolutely love this restaurant. I always make a point to go if I’m in NYC. Classic, beautiful restaurant with the most incredible flowers. Amazing good and service. The staff was very accommodating to me and my four month old baby I had to take with me.

    The atmosphere at La Grenouille was among the nicest I have ever experienced. It is quiet and the feel is like being in a gracious French home. The service is friendly and very attentive. The menu is lovely and I enjoyed the lobster appetizer and quenelles, as well as the souffle for dessert. I sincerely hope I can return to this refuge of calm and beauty in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

    The restaurant has a long history of fine dining and a reputation to uphold. I get that. It smells beautiful with all the fresh flowers and the ambiance is great. They have a good wine list, and as much as I like French food, I’ve definitely had better. The bread was stale, everything came out cool and the waiter seemed annoyed. Which may have been on us since it was our first time and the pre fixe system they have in place was difficult to explain to one member of our party. It’s old world and fun in that way. But I’m not sure I would recommend it if you’re looking for a particularly great meal at the price point it’s at.

    The ambience and food were great. However, we arrived in time for the first seating menu. The waiter still gave us the expensive prix fixe menu after we asked for preseating menu. We thought that was scammy. I would only recommend this restaurant to Uber rich people

    Familiar as I was from the old days with the unique ambiance of La Grenouille’s original ground floor space, I felt a little hesitation when we were led upstairs upon our arrival. I was concerned that we were being slighted and relegated. All I can say is that the design, decoration and ambiance on the second and third floors is even better than the original room and everything one could hope for. The warm wood paneling, the fire aglow in the hearth, subdued music played by an elegant pianist, fabulous floral displays visible in every direction, and a suave French captain smoothly conducting the proceedings amid our widely spaced tables—all added up to as ideal a dining setting as one could conjure. Of course, the center of the symphony was the classic haute cuisine, which measured up in every way to the standard of culinary excellence that La Grenouille has always stood for and lived up to the bravura accompaniment provided by the exquisite surroundings. It was for us a dining experience for the ages the memory of which will continue to resonate for both of us.
