A garden of visual and epicurean marvels, La Grenouille serves Lunch and Dinner, Tuesday through Saturday. A spectacular three tiered skylight room with grand fireplace is available for private parties. À la Carte menu for Lunch and Dinner is served at the new “Aviator” bar designed by Philippe Masson. A bar dedicated to St. Exupery who, during the 1940’s, wrote part of the Little Prince upstairs in the Skylight room of La Grenouille.
Food is wonderful. The service is impeccable. The room is beautifully decorated with floral arrangements. Nice and quiet as well. A dining experience not to be missed
Food was correct, but far from outstanding. My baguette was obviously overcooked and burnt at the ends. But the worst was how overcrowded this "chic" restaurant was. We were squeezed into a tiny space side by side with the working station. I had to call a waiter in order to move the table and be able to go to the restroom. Next to us there was another couple who also could barely move. Also you don't expect to have dished piled up under your nose in this type of restaurant and when paying $170 fixed price for a meal, plus taxes and tips.
Incredible service, wonderful staff
Those who appreciate the ultimate in refinement and sophistication in French cuisine will be swept away by Le Grenouille. Those who do not appreciate this should look elsewhere.
We've been eating there for years. Same unique ambience and attentive service but the food is not up to the level that would be expected for the price. One member of our party had over cooked (despite the $20 extra charge) Dover sole. The lobster entrees we're also overcooked. Probably our last dinner there sadly.
Unfortunate experience with misunderstanding on the part of the waiter. All he or the owner, Philippe, had to do was say “I’m sorry for the misunderstanding”. Instead Philippe was rude and pompous. They have lost two very loyal long-time New York customers as well as our friends who entertain corporate colleagues often.
Our 49 th Anniversary - lovely dinner and atmosphere
What a joy to find a restaurant that has old world charm-attentive staff and wonderful food! I felt like I was back in Paris France! One. Word describes the experience--Incredible!!
All my special occasions I can't imagine without a lunch or dinner at La Grenuille.
As if you are in Paris, and fantasy is taking you away. Festive atmosphere, food and service, French language make your visit unforgettable.
Always looking forward, and never get tired of this place.
Looking forward to visit again.
Lovely break from being in New York
We love everything about the restaurant but the prices. With only having a price fix menu of $172.00 per person, with no Ala carte menu it ended up costing us $952 for 4 people. instead of around $500 which we paid the previous times we ate there. We make the trip every year and look forward to seeing a play and dinning at your beautiful restaurant
I am afraid we will not be able to come to your restaurant again.
The food is average for the asked price
La Grenouille is superb in every way -from the welcome upon arrival, the beyond spectacular flowers which are so exceptional each and every season, the flawless service, the wonderful cuisine, the attention to details, the special extras (Madeleines, palmiers ( I hope I have right name, the Florentine (again the name) and the lace crisps), the beyond compare Grand Marnier soufflé, and I could keep going on. I always feel I get great value for my money- it is a lovely dining experience on so many levels. While I live in Connecticut, I always look forward to returning since my first visit 36 years ago. It makes me feel special.
We are grateful for Bertrand and his assistant deserves a reward for going to great lengths to enhance the experience
perhaps without getting the credit he deserves. I must get his name next visit.
In love with La Grenouille.
Very expensive but still good value for one of the few remaining iconic French dining experiences left in NY. They don’t miss a step.
I loved it. It was a special evening. In the name of constructive criticism, I did not think the French roll was very good. Also my chicken breast was dry, which the waiter recognized because he came twice offering more of the wonderful sauce. Everything else was wonderful.
Excellent French cuisine Beautiful flowers
Classic restaurant Delicious food well presented
Wonderful lunch. The bouillabaisse was delicious. And the lobster salad was fantastic.
Absolutely spectacular as always. I do wish that the portions were a little bigger.
Everything was perfect. Great ambiance excellent service and the dining experience was delicious from beginning to end. A real jewel.
If you're going to go large in NYC, and you're not obsessed with "the hot new thing" or with spending hundreds of dollars on bite-sized "tasting menu" portions, you can't do better than La Grenouille. Old world style, delicious cuisine, superb wine list, top-notch service -- it's one of the last great "grandes dames" of classic French cuisine left in America, and almost certainly the best.
An exceptional find in NYC . A beautiful restaurant filled with awesome flower arrangements, absolutely delicious food and exemplary service. Very privileged to have enjoyed our best meal ever in NYC
Absolutely fabulous restaurant and experience! Everything was enjoyable except for the check (LOL). Very expensive (at least for an out-of-towner) but worth it as a special occasion. We love dining and would definitely come back when in NY again.
My husband and I went for a dinner on Saturday for his birthday. We got an amazing table upstairs, exactly where I wanted. We where greeted very warmly and started with a glass of champagne. We loved our dinner and the atmosphere. Staff really looked after every guest and made it an amazing experience. We will be back!
Everything at this restaurant is perfect. Food, service, ambiance work together to create an unforgettable experience. Put it on your bucket list!
Absolutely outstanding as usual!!
My girlfriends hadn’t been so I brought them over during lunch for the daily special. The onion soup was superb, the main dish was okay. Overall though, you can’t beat the daily special price for the ambience and service at this upscale restaurant. I’d go ala carte next time.
The food was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere is sublime. There are not many places in the world that capture the feeling of true Parisian dining off continent. This is the penultimate example of first class fine dining in a romantic setting.
The ‘captain’ was pretty close to intolerable- he spent the majority of the time looking at himself in the mirror and lying zero attention to his actual duties. Useless.
Outstanding! The food, service, old world ambiance, in a few words, everything was fantastic! Pricey but worth every bit!
The most gorgeous flowers, gracious staff, delicious food. Such a special place!
The frog legs are why I come to NY.. then while there, I try to do a little business
The only issue to this beautiful Restarunt is the service seems to dialed in.
Extremely beautiful, fresh flowers everywhere, the service was excellent and the food amazing! Perfect for a special evening. Highly recommend.
Really great experience. Wonderful service, delicious food, beautifully decorated with flowers. Went here for my anniversary - very romantic. Had the prix fixe - had the foie gras/ pate, the fish stew, and the coffee soufflé. Every dish was wonderful. Every item in the fish stew was cooked perfectly.
It's the best! I have never been so touched as this time. It's really wonderful. I should last forever. It's the pride of Manhattan.
As elegant as ever. Staff and service is impeccable. Food and wine excellent. Flowers beyond description. One of the worlds special places.
Awesomely beautiful. Service was the best.
