Meal was spectacular-the flowers were exquisite- the service was exceptional as always- Bertrand is an excellent waiter and Her e is as lovely as can be- a very special dining experience
Pierre is in charge and very special too
Lovely but not as fabulous as it should be for the price
The food was well prepared and expertly served, but the waiters were quite stuffy and the food portions were astonishingly small for the extravagant prices. Our special occasion was a birthday, and I was asked for what gender at the time of reservation, but no acknowledgment to the birthday was made during this dinner. We left the restaurant feeling a bit duped, and still hungry. Later that evening we ate at another restaurant to supplement the $250.00 “snack” we had earlier at La Grenouille. Would not recommend.
Really still a delightful experience to dine at La Grenouille. First dined there in the 1960's on business and it is still a pleasure. Food was excellent, service extraordinary and compared to some other over priced restaurants, this is almost a bargain though we did do the Pre Theatre menu.
La Grenouille should be on everyone's list for the holidays. A family favorite, I was not disappointed in my recent visit. The staff at the door welcomes you and quickly takes your coat and takes you to your table for a fabulous dining experience. The waiters do not rush you, so take your time to savor ever bite and enjoy the beautiful flowers and ambience. the food has never disappointed us and this time was no exception. The lobster salad and salmon were excellent. Once should not skip dessert, as their souffle's are so divine, and well worth the calories!! A place you will never forget.
Business lunch. Superb food. Ambiance unmatched
For 15 years, I have tried to get a December Saturday reservation. Sadly, my luck “ran” out when I got one. It is a stunningly beautiful restaurant with great service but the food is not up to the ambiance or the price.
Extremely too expensive
I was not impressed with food and also the service was very poor and the price was outrageous... will not dine there again
Best restaurant in NY. Best everything, great place to entertain important clients.
food excellent as usual...its overpriced but i was expecting that. We will be back sometime when I have more money
Food was amazing. Service was well intentioned but a bit chaotic.
La Grenouille, like so many other things, is not like it was once. The food, while well-prepared and tasty, is not particularly innovative or inspiring. Serving it before it becomes lukewarm would enhance it. Service is attentive but not flawless. I believe the same experience could be created elsewhere at less expense.
Excellent service, delicious food. Great experience!
Beautiful room. Traditional food. We went there pre-theater when the have a more modest menu. But my wife did an impulse order of a soufflé and we found out the hard way that it was $35!
Overpriced for the quality of food and wine. My seafood entree was 4 small pieces of tasteless dry fish. Same withe my wife's Dover Sole $70 for dry and tasteless sole. Cheapest bottle of wine was $80. Their web site says jackets required but obviously not enforced--several men there without jackets.
The service was excellent. However the soufflés were not good this time. Undercooked and gave us stomach problems.
Perfect in every aspect!
Bravo. The restaurant continues to exceed expectations after all these years. I have been going since I was a kid and for forty years it has been a iconic institution. Stay the course!
Good atmosphere, good service, bland food, too pricey. Not worth the price.
Only our second time to La Grenouille after our first visit almost 12 years ago. Very nice meal with excellent wine and one of the best martinis I’ve had in a while. Staff were very attentive and accommodating with good knowledge of the food and drink menu. A little fancier than our usual dining choices (I forgot a jacket is required in the main room, so had to wear a “loaner”) but I’m glad we went back for a special night. Had the smoked salmon and caviar and the beef and duck, while my wife had the lobster bisque and the Dover sole. All were excellent. Ended the night with chocolate and caramel soufflés. Great stuff!
Food was fabulous as always. Service was on point. It was Not just having a meal but enjoying a dining experience and the evening.
Le Grenouille is wonderfully tradtional French restaurant. The menu, preparation, presentation reflect this. Service is first rate. All your needs are anticipated, without being intrusive. The dinning rooms are the perfect setting for the quality experience. The flower arrangements in the room are special. Whether you are first time diner or regular the greeting is warm and welcoming. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star.
Everything about our experience was over the top and amazing. The service was impeccable, the food was amazing (we had the Dover Sole 3-cheese onion soup and soufflé for dessert), and the decor, restaurant amenities and fresh flowers were nothing short of spectacular. La Grenouille is now my favorite fine dining restaurant in New York. Wow!
It is a luxury to eat at La Grenouille!!! We are never disappointed!!!
It had been years since I had been to La Grenouille, and I found the food uninspired and overpriced.
Impeccably prepared classic French cuisine, white table cloths, silver service, professional wait staff, glorious decor and larger than life gorgeous floral arrangements. We've been dining here for about 36 years. Long live La Grenouille.
Outstanding cuisine, decor and service. Can’t get any better
Only negative comments relate to the breads. Breads were not soft, actually "tough". Also, gougere were not fresh.
Have dines at this restaurant several times and always had a good experience. This time was very disappointing, Food tasted like leftovers service was chaotic. Souffles undercooked as they had forgot to cook them as was requested. Captain was rude, arrogant, and lazy and totally full of himself. Love fine French cuisine but this restaurant dropped of my list.
Fantastic as always :)
Since 1962, a beautiful romantic place with an excellent quality of service and food in the heart of Manhattan.
The last surviving classical French gourmet restaurant in NYC is really worth trying at least once in a lifetime.
The Next Generation/ Boulud, Bernardin, Jean-Georges /is also very good but the ambiance is really different.
Love my Birthdays at Le Grenouille. This year as always terrific food, service, atmosphere!
Definitely will return, can recommend to everyone.
Fantastic! Always great
We enjoyed an exquisite evening at La Grenouille! Everything was perfect.....the gorgeous flowers, the charming tables, the exceptionally delicious food, and the impeccable service! I am looking forward to our next opportunity to dine here.
Fantastic experience. Everything one could imagine at one time. The food, the service, the ambiance all A+++.
Had the signature Dover Sole. One of my favorites wherever I go -- this was lighter and delicious -- exceeding my expectations.
I had the dark chocolate souffle. Also, one of my usual special "out to dine" treats, La Grenouille delivered this dessert with splendor.
My best dining experience in 60 years including travels overseas and all over the Americas. I will make this a regular stop when in NYC. You should too..........
Was amazing night before broadway show! Liked interior and atmosphere. Ps: olive bread is so delicious:)
Wow! The cheese souffle, was to die for! The French Cabernet, was smooth, and wonderful, and the desserts, which were complimentary, were yummy. We loved everything!
Because La Grenouille is one of the city’s great — and most expensive restaurants — its recent prix-fixe lunch was a breathtaking bargain (three courses for $34) and delicious as well. Our waiter winced almost imperceptibly when we ordered it, nevertheless we were treated like royalty. It was an exceptional meal.
Outstanding lunch at La Grenouille. We started with a cocktail at the bar- the bartender Tom was wonderful as were the cocktails. He was also very helpful about wine offerings. Our appetizers and entrees were equally wonderful and bring us back over and over again. The dessert was superb as well. Service is always exceptional and the floral arrangements are a beautiful touch.
