La Gondola Ratings and Reviews
I had no idea that this restaurant has been there for 20+ years! It was great - loved the bar and piano and the food was very good. I was surprised to realize that there was no cheese since the restaurant is kosher but the dish ended up not needing it anyway. I will definitely come back!
It was my mother's 90th birthday. we needed a festive kosher restaurant. We had reservations for 5:30 We were 10 people. We wer seated at a lovely round table in a location that took in account my mother's age. I preordered appetizers so everyone could eat while the entrees were being prepared. Our final guests arrived 5:45. The restaurant was crowded w/ large groups. I think the kitchen staff was overwhelmed. . we were served dinner @ 6:40!
Easily some of the best kosher food in LA. Have been going for more than a decade and am always impressed. The revised menu mixes in some new favorites to join the old stalwarts, resulting in a rich and excellent selection. The staff is friendly and service is quick and efficient. Would highly recommend. Make reservations - it's typically crowded.
I had been to La Gondola before, but not in several years. I now remember why. It is awful. A boring menu, inattentive service, and moldy food. No, really. My sandwich literally had mold on the bread. I tried to eat the inside without the bread, and it tasted so bad that even if I were not sick to my stomach from the disgusting mold I still would not have eaten it.
I will never go back and neither should you! Go down to Pico in Beverlywood. They have nice Kosher restaurants there with edible food and attentive service.
everything took a very long time, waiter to take order, needed to ask a few times, food to arrive, 40 min plus, asked the get leftovers packed to go, had to ask twice, asked for check, took ten min, gave credit card took another 5-10 min till she came back, everything took too long and I had to ask multiple times. Food was decently priced, but the ribs everyone raves about were not that great, but acceptable. Other food was fine.
We were lucky to have Armando as our server. He went out of his way to accommodate the special requests of one of our diners. He allowed us to take our time both ordering and then receiling our items. We spent a little more than 2 hours at our table and did not feel as though we were being rushed to finish.
