This place is totally underrated. I'm honestly not sure why they aren't more busy. They are how most Italian restaurants SHOULD be - all homemade pastas. It was AMAZING!
Good, fresh food and great service. The ambience is nothing special and it was very chilly the night we visited.
So delicious! Great service. This place is really cute, I will definitely be coming back.
Excellent food, ambience, and service! We come back every year for my daughter's birthday.
Place has gone way down hill over the years I will not go back. Place was freezing inside heat must be off , they were out of some stuff on menu it’s a Friday night at 7pm if your out then that just plain poor planing. No specials what Italian restaurant has no specials on a Saturday night. I turns around to get a waiters attention and they are all on there cell phones texting or facebooking right in front of the owner and she said nothing. It’s a shame place used to be really good
My wife and I had an enjoyable dinner at LA Galleria 33. The food was good and ambience was fantastic for a romantic dinner. We first heard about this restaurant from the show Kitchen Nightmares. I have to say magnifico!
We love this place! Our first experience here was several years ago with a group for our wedding rehearsal dinner and we were so impressed with the service, the delicious food, and the great prices we’ve come back several times for our wedding anniversary, New Year’s Eve (2017/18), or anytime we just want a great meal and a warm and welcoming environment. They continue to impress. Can’t miss with this simple & lovely spot!
I had booked at table for 12.30 and received a confirmation. It was my husband’s birthday. We arrived a little early - the restaurant shows its opening hour as 10. The door was unlocked but there was no-one around.
We came in and waited. Eventually one of the chefs appeared, saw us but ignored us. After a few minutes of waiting we called through to the chef and asked about lunch. He shrugged and said there were no waiters there and he didn’t know what time the waiters would be there.
We cancelled and left. Very disappointing.
Nice place. Authentic cuisine. Food and service were very good. A lot of personal attention from the manager. I will be back next time I am in Boston.
Terrible Service. We had a 6 pm reservation and we told them we were attending the Celtics game later that night and 50 min late we still had no food. The staff was ignoring our table and did not offer any drink refills while we waited. After we tracked them down to ask where our food was, they informed us it would be 15 min longer because two large parties had come in. If you can not handle a large party, do not take a large party. We ended up walking out and not receiving any food. Staff was rude and took no responsibility. Do not go here.
Great food and great atmosphere. our waiter had a great personality with recommendations that were great
The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The dishes were tasty and rich and the ambience was classically Italian. Not huge crowds which to me was a nice change from the rest of the North End
We love La Galleria 33. Their calamari and dipping sauce for the bread are amazing. Everyone joins the “clean plate club” here including our children. We highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed!
Food was very good and the staff was welcoming. We felt as if we were at their home, just as it should feel. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Gluten free staff member was amazing with extra carrots. Thank you so much for the great evening.
Great spot in the North End
Brought our son and daughter-in-law here for their last night in Boston. As usual, La Galleria 33 did not disappoint. The kids enjoyed every taste and my husband said that his Veal Parm was the best he’s had in Boston yet. And he entertains vendors weekly for the last 3 years.
Will definitely return again
Food and service were great!
Great! Would definitely come back!
The food was carefully prepared and excellent.--a North End spot we'll come back to. Nice atmosphere as well.
Great menu for authentic cuisine. Service was friendly, attentive, but not pushy. Very comfortable atmosphere. Dessert was excellent as well.
We waited 1.5 hours for our average tasting, overpriced North End dinner. The waitress never acknowledged our entrees taking an hour to arrive (two appetizers and a pasta), but bought my husband a glass of wine while I was in the bathroom.
The manager/hostess rolled her eyes at me as we were leaving and I asked to speak to her.
Having managed restaurants in NYC for many years, I was shocked she would be so rude before I said a word about the miserable service.
I understand being short staffed and overwhelmed and tables getting lost. I don't understand not speaking to the table to acknowledge the screw up and being rude when a 'guest' approaches the host/manager. She said she had no idea our order was lost, but open kitchens are very revealing, even if you've never worked in the industry.
I hope that if you read this you spend your money and time elsewhere.
Making customers feel like a nuisance at 8pm on a Saturday night is not a way to do business.
I wouldn't be writing a review if they were remotely professional or the food was amazing. No one said sorry, no one cared. This place is a mess.
This was a wonderful experience
Excellent service and menu. Reminds us of North End eateries we visited before the neighborhood resurged after the Rose Kennedy Greenway was built. Setting feels intimate and open at the same time. We'll go back.
Great spot in Boston's north end for delicious Italian food.
Rudest employees and slow service. Showed up a little late due to traffic and the hostess greeted us with “you couldn’t call!?!?” Food and check took forever as well.
Great food, great service! Perfect meal for me and my parents who were in town for Parent’s Weekend. Will definitely recommend and probably return myself!
Good food. Service was a little slow because they were very busy. Worth the wait!
The service was crap and the food was mediocre and expensive.
We shared the arancini and a bottle of wine and I had the eggplant parm. Everything was absolutely delicious! Not my first time here, but it's always excellent.
Selected your restaurant due to the Gordon Ramsay show but mostly wanted to meet the two owners who seemed so authentic and determined. The fact that they are still opened is a tribute to their desire to succeed. The staff and food were fantastic and do not regret our selection. Came all the way from Québec City, Canada for this and would do it again in a flash.
Poor service, overpriced Italian food. We've had better food and service at Olive Garden.
The meal was really excellent and the ambience here is so warm and lively!
We had a reservation, but our waiter wasn't all that interested in us when he learned we were ordering just a few small plates rather than larger more expensive entrees. He rushed us through taking our plates very quickly each time. Never asked if we wanted a second glass of wine. When we ordered dessert he didn't offer coffee or anything else other than the check. While we were putting on our coats, they were clearing the table. If you're looking for average food, rushed service and unfriendly wait staff then I suppose you'd like this place. I didn't and would not go back.
Took over 1.5 hrs to get our food. The service was below par but the food was even worse. The price was very good compared to competing restaurants. I would recommend spending a little extra money and go anywhere else.
I chose this restaurant because my favorite pasta dish is cannelloni with white sauce and it was on their menu. Although the menu said white sauce and tomato sauce, I asked the waiter if the red sauce could be left off, and he said it was no problem. My order came and it was delicious! I also had a Caprese salad and it too was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Traditional Italian Food. Very delicious. If you like pasta it’s the perfect spot.
Food is absolutely fabulous! Service was wonderful. Only negative is that is was very loud so romance is out
The pasta was excellent, the bread was fresh and warm. The food came out relatively fast and it was cute and romantic. Relatively fairly priced for the North end. Centrally located, easy to get from one place to another, not far from north station. Everyone in my party greatly enjoyed their meal. Will be returning.
We took friends from out of town! We loved the food and service was amazing!
I have been to Galleria 33 many times however my recent experience has left me with such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never be going back there and will make sure to tell everyone that comes to visit me on Salem to NEVER visit this restaurant. I have never experienced such rude and bad service in my life. We gave our order for 3 pasta dishes then waited and waited... after an hour past we pulled out waiter aside to kindly ask what was the hold up and he VERY rudly in a nasty tone responded "I don't know what to tell you it's a Saturday (it was Friday)" then he just walked away from us. Note that he did not come back to check on us for a full hour. We all immediately got up and said we were leaving we explained the situation to 2 servers because no manager was working... not to sure why since it was a Friday night. Our server John kept coming over and staring at us rolling his eyes and making snark comments to our face. He then continued to give us a bill for $17, we gave him our card and when he returned we saw he charged us $36. WORST EXPERIENCE. Thank god for Ernesto's down the street, it's a pizza shop... they gave us 100 times better service than we would have gotten at Galleria and cost us a whole lot less to. My recommendation, never go. It will only cause a headache. Maybe if they fire John I will consider going back some day... probably not.
