Delicious food, outstanding service and overall beautiful culinary experience.
This is. A great neighborhood spot for dinner and Drinks. A family favorite!
It was a Friday night. By the time I made an online reservation we couldn't get a table until 8:15. We showed up 45 minutes early and three bar seats miraculously opened up, so we took them. The service was slow to come around, but the place was packed and they were working hard. The food was spectacular, beautiful to look at and flavorful. We all oooohed and aaaahed at every bite! Yum. Next time we will go on a weeknight.
Waited 20 minutes past reservation. Entrees and appetizers came 5 minutes apart.
Really enjoyed the new (to us) tapas-style food choices. We had several and loved them all. The remolacha (beet salad) and the queso fondido (poblano pepper fondue) were especially good. Service was slightly slow - only one server on duty when we were there - but very friendly and knowledgeable. La Fresca is not as trendy as some newer spots, but the food cannot be beat, and prices are more reasonable, too. Great value.
Outstandingly creative and fresh. Wait staff knowledgeable, available, but unobtrusive. Small intimate ambiance encourages conversation. Pleasant outdoor seating overlooking residential neighborhood with limited traffic. Parking is a challenge. One of our go-to places when visiting the Cities.
The carne asada was particularly good.
Did the wine pairing dinner and it was excellent as always.
Very nice wine and food pairing! Thoughtful and creative food. Will be back!
four of us each ordered fish and they were beautifully prepared great seasoning
Cute little neighborhood spot, very homy and welcoming. Very attentive and friendly service by both the waiter and host. The food was delicious and fresh, true to their homemade claims. It's small, so space is a bit tight but didn't feel uncomfortably so.
The waiter, Zach, was very friendly and efficient, but not intrusive. Great food overall but guacamole was lacking flavor. Comfortable atmosphere. We had a great time and will return!
La Fresca had been highly recommended to me, but it still surprised us when my wife and I finally dined there. The food was outstanding; carefully prepared and presented using fresh ingredients, and everything served to us was simply delicious.
This is definitely nouvelle Mexican cuisine, as the restaurant proclaims, with ingredients that were beautifully combined. Service was informal and very friendly; we genuinely felt welcome.
The only disappointing thing was that the restaurant was so quiet on a Wednesday evening--it deserved to be busy!
Another great experience. Fresh and lively menu. Great fish. Upbeat atmosphere. We love to come to La Fresca with friends.
Always excellent! One of our favorite places!
I love La Fresca! I brought guests from San Diego who are the first to tell you how snobbish they are about this cuisine. They loved it, too. Your guacamole and ceviche are stand-outs.
Service was lovely, table was small awkward for two people. Food was fresh and interesting. Portions small but adequate. Will be back. It was quiet and perfect for conversation .
The food was delicious! Our server added to our wonderful experience.
Service was fabulous!
Dan was a great server. We had delicious food.
La Fresca makes the most authentic Mexican food we have ever encountered in Minneapolis. We have traveled in Mexico quite a lot and our extended family had a Mexican housekeeper who was a fabulous cook. The food at La Fresca is wonderful!
Really great small plates. Loved the guacamole-and the duck empanada. However, both entree fish dishes were a bit over cooked (dry). Waiter was very attentive if not a bit too familiar (we didn’t know him, but he acted like we were old friends).
Very creative dishes, wonderful presentation, very delicious and great service. Also charming environment. We very much warmed to our server Juan. He was so gracious, even helping us w/ our botched Spanish. Highly recommend. Will definitely return.
the food was fabulous as usual; the sound system was a bit loud for 5:30 in the evening and was more suited to a bar setting with 4 on the floor bass (during our quiet birthday dinner)...always a favorite spot
Hidden gem in residential neighborhood. Superb service. Delicious, inventive dishes.
La Fresca is a great little neighborhood restaurant. We've been there in the past and loved the food. They recently changed the menu to all small plates. Our food was good, but we were disappointed because we craved the old menu.
We chose La Fresca totally randomly, and it is a gem. Excellent Latin-inspired menu and all nice tapas-size plates allowed for us to taste quite a lot, and we were not disappointed. Best ceviche I've found thus far in the Twin Cities - done the right way in individual servings on crackers (not a big bowl of raw fish in a pool of vinegar). We will go back to this neighborhood gem even though we are not in the neighborhood.
Dan was a most terrific server. New menu is fun! And tasty. Best guacamole in town. We’ve coming here since it opened years ago, and it always knocks it out of the park in all areas. Truly a gem in a cozy neighborhood setting.
We went for a date night and I was pretty disappointed. The portions are all very small. The guac had little to no flavor, along with the civeche. The place is cute and the service was great. I was expecting more spice/flavor to the food. It also is quite pricey, it was $70 for gauc, a glass of wine, 1 beer and two small plates.
We've been to La Fresca twice. Biggest pluses: This is a warm, engaging, fun restaurant, reasonably priced, with great wait staff and good, attentive service. Further, the quality of the food is excellent and the tastes, delicious. Biggest minus: The size of their main courses are unusually small. I had the snapper and could eat it in 3 bites. If I wanted tapas, I'd go to Rincon (another of their restaurants which serves great tapas). But, if you're hungry, skip La Fresca and go to Cafe Ena (their third restaurant which has reasonable portions).
The food is wonderful! The menu changed since we were there last and they now have small plates, which we liked.
Fantastic food as always
Such a cute neighborhood gem. Fun upscale Mexican tapas.
Loved the food. Our waiter was EXCELLENT! Could you PLEASE get a liquor license? Wine and beer are not the same with Mexican food... we loved it overall. A bit pricey, but would go again.
Waiter was new but good for being new :)
Food portions smaller than they used to be but food is always the highlight and fish is always delicious.
We felt somewhat kicked out as they were starting to close up at 10 which seems early for a Friday night. But friendly and polite.
Loved our experience at La Fresca!! The ambiance was wonderful and service was great.
Really nice looking restaurant, easy parking, friendly and attentive service. Food is quite boring but attractively presented. Not recommended.
A gem of a restaurant! Interesting, delicious food! Feels like you are at a friend's house for dinner in the neighborhood!
We loved everything!! Amazing!
Cute, cozy restaurant, great/tasty food and excellent service. Most of a wine menu as they don't serve hard liquor. Food a little on spendy side, but really good too.
