La Fourno Ristorante - Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
Really great find. We made a reservation last minute for a party of 16 and they were able to accommodate us! We had a great table upstairs in front of the fire and the service was incredible, despite the fact that we were such a large group. Good food, really nice servers
A lovely meal in a friendly atmosphere. Our server, Francis, was charming and very attentive. Their Veal Parm has been rated the Best in Philadelphia, and certainly deserves the title. We will be coming back often. Certainly one of the best restaurants that South Street has to offer!
We had a large group and they were very accommodating and treated us like gold. The bread, pizza and appetizers were all amazing. I recommend sticking with these items and the pastas-our group was less impressed with some of the other meat entrees, but everything was still quite good. They seated us to ourselves in the upstairs room and it was super cozy with a fireplace and a nice bar. Definitely a great place to go if you have a large group of people. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed it. Tiramisu is top notch! The polenta appetizer was also amazing and something you don't see every day. The entrees were pretty big, so consider sharing if you are also getting appetizers and salads.
The Service was great, they found the best table in the place for us. The wine list was limited and we chose a light red that was OK, my friends salad looked great and my prosciutto & melon was good, but not great. However both our main courses were poor, my friends shrimp were tasteless unless you count the garlic, and my chicken with ham and cheese was again somewhat tasteless, and possibly a bit over cooked (although that may be the style) We left half of our meals and skipped dessert.
This review may be a bit unfair; I was not pleased with the food and was surprised by the recommendations seen on OpenTable.
The restaurant offered a wide range of pizza and pasta and some mains. The starters were good. We ordered the special, a shrimp risotto, that truly disappointed. Although the wine list was limited, it was good.
Service was genuine, friendly and consistent.
Go there for the pizza and maybe the pasta and for a fun neighborhood night.
A nice little Italian spot off the tourist grid. Huge portions and a great value. The staff makes the restaurant experience, could not have been nicer and goes hand in hand with the comfort food served. There r a lot of choices in Philly but this little Italian spot was worth the walk.
We had 6 adults, 2 kids and 1 toddler and the waitstaff was very nice! A man who I think was the manager, when we asked if they had plastic cups, offered to go next door and get a paper cup with a lid for my 2.5 yr old to drink out of. We brought wine but they only do BYO on Wednesdays and Fridays...however for those that wanted a drink, they had a great list to choose from. we sat upstairs in a large room that we had mostly to ourselves-except for one couple (sorry for the noise)! Overall, I think everyone enjoyed their dishes and family time!
