La Fontana Della Citta
We were surprised to find a dirty glass on the table and the napkin in bread basket had lipstick on it
La Fontana is one of our neighborhood restaurants. Consistently good. Wonderful staff!
Everything was great. The ambiance, the food, OH GOD, those gnocchis! Jona was great as a waitress! Can’t wait to go back!
Elvis, the host, was terrific! Great place for dinner. Very welcoming.
Delicious food & attentive service
The food service everything was great Elvis really took care of us best waiter everything was perfect
The food was very good, although a bit pricey. Service was lacking at this establishment. Many other restaurants with excellent food and service, and less expensive.
Great food, very disorganized service; we had to ask for menus. One waiter-captain-order -taker, several untrained assistants buzzing around. It is a BYO, but I did not see that on the website or in open table.
Very welcoming and authentic Italian cuisine . Excellent food and great service. Atmosphere is relaxing, especially enjoy the low key background music
We come about once or twice a month, always amazing food and service!!
The food was fantastic. As was ther service. Our waiter. Elvis was great. Took care of all our needs. Including my special order.
Great time had by all
Food was great and service was very good too! Complimentary dessert for my wife's birthday.
-tables are very close so you'll get to know your neighbors during busy times
- I left feeling hungry but the portion was just right for my wife.
Great food . Service was bit slow but I guess that is because it was Valentine’s Day! Would go back.
this place was god awful. Came here for valentine’s day with friends and it was a horrible experience. Mussels were cold, pasta was hardly warm/cold and didn’t complain about it. Entree came out which was Salmon and it was cold. Complained about that and got a new salmon that was very hot but insanely overcooked and dry. They wanted to keep making the salmon instead of just taking it off the bill. they offered 10% off which was still not acceptable. They were very difficult. My friend didn’t receive her dessert and didn’t eat an entree and still had to pay for a little baby plate of pasta and cold mussels. We were also seated in a basement that was very hot and very loud. Had to ask for a wine bucket three times and also were given dirty wine glasses. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE. Horrible place, horrible service, and horrible management.
Friendly staff, we were about an hour early and they were kind about to to seat us. Great food and service.
Half of the mussels were empty shells. The risotto and shrimp dish only had one piece of shrimp. The server didn’t offer to chill our bottle of white wine.
Fixed menu for Valentine's Day is $20 a person more expensive than Restaurant Week fixed menu and the menu is exactly the same. Restaurant Week is a much better value.
This was our second visit to La Fontana. I found the veal parmigiana to be disappointing. It was tough and yet mushy at the same time. I found it strange that instead of salt and pepper shakers on the table, the restaurant had placed tiny bowls of salt and pepper on our table. Lastly, because it was Valentine's Day, the restaurant placed a 20% tip automatically on each bill, even for our table which consisted of two people. I like to make that tipping decision myself, thank you.
Great location and engaged staff. Nice place to have a business dinner. Three of my four courses were great but the main was a disappointment. So four stars.
Valentines Day- me, my husband and my teen daughter
Food was excellent and the only thing I’m sorry about is
That we haven’t been here earlier.
They were definitely busy, but you never “felt” rushed or
Ignored. Maybe can use a little bit of an update but honestly the food was so good. One of the beat pieces of veal I have had in a very long time.
Our server Remy was WONDERFUL! So gracious and welcoming. Everything we ordered was beautifuly prepared and delicious! Large menu with excellent daily specials. We live in the neighborhood and have our favorite BYOBs and this one will certainly be added to the rotation. Looking forward to returning soon.
Always a delicious meal and wonderful service here. We’ve enjoyed dining heee for over 20 years and keep going back!
GET THE SHRIMP RISOTTO, that is all. Will be back to get this dish regularly
Always a great BYOB spot. Food is always good. Usually very crowded.
It was a very busy night and because of a large party also eating there, we had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation. Once sat though, the service was great, the food was delicious, and we didn’t feel rushed to leave once we finished eating and the conversation was flowing.
Liked it very much. To me the food was very good, but my companions - three other people - rated theirs as excellent. Service was outstanding and the overall ambiance was very good. I, personally, like a restaurant which has more dimmer lighting. Not necessarily dark, but not as bright as La Fontana. Again, just my personal taste. Overall a very nice place and I would definitely go back there again and would also recommend it to others.
Food good but not outstanding for a city of great Italian restaurants. Felt like we got the rush due to an early seating.
The overall experience was very good. The amount of waiters present never made us feel like we had to flag someone down just to get water; they were right there and it was perfect. The food was delicious, however the presentation of the food was a little off-putting. It honestly looked like someone had splashed the food in there. Thankfully, it was delicious, but there is definitely room for improvement. It wasn't made clear on the Restaurant Week menu that it was BYOB, so that was a big bummer.
We went for dinner on the last night of restaurant week and I was really excited because I'd never been before. It started out well - the waitstaff was very attentive and friendly/helpful. Our table was a little crammed in, but that's part of the charm of these places, right? Anyway, we ordered and got to talking as we waited for the food. My caesar salad was Delicious, though a little small. I was surprised by how small the portions were - I realize it's prix fixe and restaurant week "discounted" pricing, but I know romaine isn't that costly... For the mixed pasta second course, I am not exaggerating when I say they literally gave us about a tablespoon worth of each pasta. Like, 1 ravioli, 6 penne and 6 gnocchi. The third/main course was a little more substantial, but still not especially filling on the heels of the first two courses. Dessert was delightful and just the right amount. My main "grievance" if you will was that the courses came out too quickly - it felt a little like they were waiting for us to finish each course so they could bring the next and I like to have a little time to digest between courses... not that there was a lot to digest. It wasn't a bad experience but I also won't be rushing back.
My reservation shortly after 4, the restaurant was wide open but they still sat me all the way in the back, the service was ok, the food was ok, the portion sizes were small. While it was restaurant week, I picked a less busy time. It was highly recommended but I wasn't impressed.
We went for Restaurant Week lunch. My husband’s veal scallopine starred. Its sauce was lemony and delicate. Two of us ordered veal parmigiana smothered with a tangy tomato sauce noticeably different from the standard. Portion size was certainly adequate. My husband enjoyed the tiramisu. My mussels were tasty, albeit a little salty. The host went outside and flagged a cab for us — a thoughtful gesture. Service was cordial. I would like to return for an evening meal to experience a different vibe in this spacious well decorated space.
Food was great. We went for restaurant week and were seated down in the small room under the restaurant. It was a little chilly down there. Tables are very close together. We really enjoyed the meal and would go back again
We went for restaurant week. It was very tasty and service was good. I will be sure to tell my friends about it. It is a hidden gem!
The veal dishes were good on the restaurant week menu, also the eggplant rollatini app, but on the second course would have preferred to choose one of the pastas rather then have a small potions of all three as the only choice.
The ambiance was great, the food was delicious, and the service was also good. I was there on my lunch hour and was able to enjoy a 3 course meal for restaurant week within that time without feeling rushed at all. Highly recommend.
Great place. We have been here often.
We went for restaurant week, but were unaware that the only options would be the restaurant week menu. The portions were small and we did not have the opportunity to order more appetizers or something off their regular menu. I will not be returning for restaurant week as I do not feel it was a good value and will probably not return for the normal menu. The plus side was it is BYOB, so you do save money with that.
I really enjoyed the food & atmosphere. I love how it was BYOB. The only downfall was I felt rushed during my dinner. I was in & out in under an hour. When I go out I like to enjoy my dinner at my own pace.
Risotto was delicious!
