La Fontana Coast
We were so glad to find on open table with great reviews. We made the reservations and chose to eat outside which was great until it got really muggy but that was our choice. It is bring your own wine. We add two appetizers the Jersey tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and grilled pear and avocado on the side with arugula and we also got the grilled octopus With sautéed onions, artichoke hearts, arugula with balsamic vinegar, we split them and they were absolutely delicious and fresh! For dinner I had the Halibut franchise with fresh crab that needs to be on the menu and not just a special because it was absolutely amazing, It was so tender and fresh and I wiped my plate clean and my husband had Veal Parm that was outstanding, he said it was the best that he has had in quite a while! It was very clear to us seeing the wait staff moving around very quickly and the bus boys were amazing to watch them and literally running to put the stuff back in the kitchen. Wish we had this restaurant in upstate New York, Albany area! 😊
Angelo is a great server. Dinner variety and choices were great and fresh. Best restaurant in Sea Isle City without a doubt. If you go, make sure you make a reservation and bring along some wine to complement your dinner.
It's the shore so you expect to wait but on a Monday night when the restaurant isn't full it shouldn't take an hour to receive your entree. Food is very good though
Veal was lukewarm and not very tender. Risotto with seafood was good, ravioli portion was small for the price.
The food is always excellent and the staff is fantastic, especially Bardhi he always makes us feel welcome.
Best food in Sea Isle hands down, if you’re looking for Italian, this is THE PLACE to go!
This is honestly some of the best food we’ve ever had, and the service is impeccable! The food takes a bit of time to come out, but that’s because it’s all being made fresh, and it is WORTH THE WAIT.
Nick is the server to beat!
Came to celebrate my husband's birthday ~ perfection! appetizer was a beautiful plate of fresh fruits with mozzarella; I ordered the pasta ravioli special stuffed with crab husband ordered Shrimp Fri Diavolo, tiramisu had a candle in it to celebrate the birthday!! Nick our server was very personable, knowledgeable as to menu and just fun to speak with. The whole staff is top notch. Many thanks to Nick, Sara and Bianco for the presentation of the dessert and singing happy birthday to my husband. This is a must go to restaurant in Sea Isle!!!
Next time I will request a table further away from the kitchen door. But the food was delicious and service was great.
Angelo was an amazing server!
Second time is just as great as the first. Amazing dinner and service by Our server Mira was fantastic and Bujar is a very gracious host. They took great care of us and dinner was amazing. We will definitely be back soon.
We loved our dinner and experience at La Fontana. Excellent Menu, Specials, and service. Sara was our waitress and she was amazing!! Ask for her!
We love this local restaurant. The food is delicious and the wait staff is outstanding. Our server, Bardhi provided us with excellent service. He took care of our every need. Our meals were perfectly prepared. This is a very busy restaurant and at no time did we feel rushed.
We celebrated my moms birthday here on Friday night. Dinner was delicious. We each got appetizers and our entree and were full by the end of the meal. Not large portions but big enough that you won’t leave hungry. The restaurant really filled up by the time we left. It did get a bit noisy in there. This is a BYOB and it was on the pricey side. Would definitely return for a special occasion
Fine food, great service. Bianco a man of honor, very respectful and very good with kids.
Amazing food and service. We ate outside. It was beautiful.
We had a wonderful night at La Fontana ! The food was so delicious! Sarah our waitress was very helpful and personal! Great experience!
Amazing, amazing , amazing!!! The food was excellent and the service too!
The food it’s was outstanding great service. Highly recommended
The service is horrible. I made a reservation to be seated inside and when I got there the hostess acted like she couldn't find my reservation and told me I would have to wait a half hour to be seated unless I wanted to sit outside. My family and I decided to sit outside so we could be seated right away. It took at least 15 minutes after we were seated to have our waitress come over for our drink order. After she brought out the bread we asked her for olive oil and red pepper since that usually comes with it. We must have asked her at least 5 times before she finally brought out the oil (we never even got the red pepper, but we were sick of asking at that point). I also asked her for an ice bucket to put our wine in and she never brought that over either, I finally just asked one of the bussers to bring one. To top everything off, it started raining while we were eating and our table was barely covered by the overhang so we were soaked by the end of it. Awful experience. I do not recommend!!
I fully understand that it was 4th of July weekend as I write this - I never have super high expectations at the shore. Thet gave us paper napkins. Ok, I get it. The bread was from 2 different loaves and it was stale. They ran out of my order. Ok, I get it, busy night. I placed a second order. They brought me the wrong thing. Ok, i get it. The bill came and they charged me for the first cancelled order. They fixed that by charging me for the 2nd order on the wrong meal. The special pasta order was $40! Maybe a little comped dessert? Nope. Maybe a comped dinner? Nope. I will not be returning any time soon. Maybe an apology for the services and food? Nope.
Great restaurant, food is reliably great, service is always top notch.
Seated quickly on a very busy Sat night. However, waited over an hour for our meals. The busser could not understand English. Olive oil was empty. Help was no where to be found. Service left much to be desired. Waitress took our order but never returned except to deliver the check. The food (angel hair with a few tiny pieces of crab) was flavorful but expensive ($30) for a very small and mushy portion size. The atmosphere was chaotic. A disappointingly overpriced uncomfortable dining experience. Would not recommend.
Food and environment was great as always, but the service was horrendous. We went 30 minutes without silverware, and had our appetizer out 15 minutes before we actually got silverware. We had to ask four times for a bucket of ice for our wine and another three times for bread (wasn’t able to ask our waitress Sara because she didn’t even bring us any of this). We saw our waitress maybe three times the whole 2 hours we were there, and she tried to win us over at the end with a miniature tiramisu. It’s a shame that the service was so bad because the food as always was incredible. It was our three year anniversary and was an incredible downer on the night.
Good and service were great as always but the portions seemed a bit smaller than usual.
Service was terrible. I have been to the one in Strathmere many times and loved. This one, however, was a much different experience. We were seated outside where we had reserved. It look 25 minutes for somebody to acknowledge us and fill out water glasses. We brought a bottle of wine and it look 45 minutes just to get an ice bucket. We were told we had to order our appetizers, and dinner all at once so we put all our orders in. We received our appetizer before we got the bread basket. I both ordered the lobster ravioli special and the lobster wasnt even fully cooked. Highly recommend the Strathmere location, but this one wasnt as nice of an experience!
Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. We had to sit outside as inside was WAY too loud and we would be crammed at a little table in the middle. Outside, the service was interesting. Everyone was helpful but seemed very confused. The food was mediocre. The veggies in my pasta were hard and uncooked. The meals were too expensive for the quality and we will not be returning.
We were greeted very warmly by the hostess and seated in a fairly quiet portion of the restaurant. Unfortunately, while enjoying our salads, the chef and wait staff asked us to move in order to accommodate a large party. This, had zero impact on our meals, but the noise level change was tremendous.
We both enjoyed one of the finest fish dishes we have ever tasted “Orange Roughy”, which was melt in your mouth delicious. Our compliments to the chef!!! Since we were moved from our original seating, the restaurant provided desserts, which were excellent.
Didn’t even get seated. Along with several other guests waiting with reservations! A large party came in demanding that they know the owner and should be seated despite not have a reservation and their giant party was seated first! Another 35 minutes past with the host repeatedly lying and telling us that our table would be ready soon. Finally after waiting 40 minutes we gave up and left with at least five other parties still waiting to be seated. BUT WORST OF ALL, we called the next day and spoke with the manger who did not apologize and told us that “they will always happily seat people that are friends of the family”. He continued to be rude and belittling to our genuine concern for how they are operating their business. That’s cool and all but restaurants like that don’t deserve to be on Open Table onrhave good reviews. They don’t honor reservations so don’t even bother going. So rude.
Please trust me - do not go to this restaurant. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered. They over book reservations and make you stand on the street waiting. The staff and service is great but there is no management. We had a 7:45 reservation and were seated at 8:45 and served at 10:00pm. It was so stressful just watching the staff try to do their jobs and there was no management to be seen. The food was average at best and a number of orders were incorrect. I am a local summer resident in Sea Isle and will never go back to this place. Much better options - try A Modo Mio, La Finestra or Andrea Tratorria II. During the busy season this place will accept any and all reservations on Open Table but you do not have a reservation - you will wait and I can assure you what you get is not worth the wait.
Very lively- loved the wait staff and bus girls! Very authentic Italian experience! Perhaps a bit overbooked; but everyone enjoyed themselves.
I've dined at La Fontana many times, and took this reservation because it was the only one left in the time we wanted to eat. As usual, they overbooked and people were waiting on the sidewalk. There was no hostess to be found, and the owner/manager was walking around helping no one. Our food was decent, and the server okay. She brought us the wrong dessert, which was more expensive than the one we ordered. Had I not asked, I probably would have paid the higher price.
Nice restaurant food specials were very good
But it’s a very noisy place
Great food! Little pricey for the amount of food you get. Octopus appetizer was great. Only thing that wasn’t good was the bread. Bread was horrible.
Birdhi is the man... la Fontana is the best restaurant in seaisle. Great food and very friendl
Was very disappointed at service. Place was nearly empty when we arrived and we watched other tables get served before us. Been there multiple times in previous years without a problem so I hope this was just an off night. Shore restaurants are always reliant on summer help sure hope this one gets its act together before I return
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Overall everyone was very hospitable.
Our meal and the service were excellent - we had outdoor seating on July 4th, so we were able to enjoy Sea Isle City’s fireworks as we ate our dessert. We always enjoy eating here when we are in town.
La Fontana the Coast is consistently good and one of my favorite!
Have all ready recommended your establishment. Outstanding
We always look forward to our first meal of the season at La Fontana. This time we were sorely disappointed. They must have been very short staffed as we did not receive our appetizers until over an hour after being seated. The waitstaff were friendly but orders were messed up and the wait for food was much too long. Not much apology offered. Other tables seemed to be receiving the same amateurish service. The meals were decent quality but not the best I’ve had there. I did think of complaining to a manager but we were there so long that we needed to leave right away after the meal. It’s too bad this happened at the beginning of our stay in Sea Isle because I’ll be hesitant to go back soon.
