La Focaccia will open at 2:00 on Easter Sunday and we will be serving our regular menu.

Have better meals here in the past. My veal chop parmesan ( a special) tasted liked it had been premade and warmed up before it was served. In fact the pasta it was served with was cold when it arrived and had to sent back.
Always a good meal, always very difficult to carry on a conversation but worth it. Food is generally consistently good and separate and many round tables make it easier for groups of 6 or more.
Expect to wait even with a reservation.
Recently dined here for a birthday party. The service was terrific. We ordered several tasty appetizers for the table to share. Everyone had an entree. Pasta dishes, veal, rack of lamb, and the snapper were delicious. When the short ribs came out over done, the waiter exchanged the entree with a different meal in a timely manner. The night was finished with cakes. Love that the place is BYOB, too.
Another amazing meal at La Focaccia -- no surprise! Reserve early because tables book quickly. Service is excellent. Space is a bit crowded and noisy.
Delicious and fresh, I would recommend it for a good Italian meal. Also BYOB
Very good food with attentive wait staff. Some tables in main dining room too close, chose to sit in side room for a quieter dining experience. Nice evening. BYOB also a great option.
We met friends for dinner at La Focaccia. Our meal was absolutely delicious. My appetizer was a warm goat cheese salad with arugula, which was fresh and wonderful. My entrée was the branzino with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and it was superb. All of us were members of the "clean plate club" with our entrees. I fed my chocolate craving with a wonderful sundae consisting of a chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, served in a parfait glass. Our friends shared the key lime pie, which they loved. The only negative to the evening was that it was a Saturday night, the place was packed, and it was extremely noisy.
LaFocaccia is the most consistent restaurant I have ever patronized. And I should know...I have been dining there essentially since the day it opened, twenty five years or so ago. There are never any surprises. Many of the wait staff are the same people who served me decades ago. Don't tell me that experience isn't valuable. It's worth is re enforced every time I walk through the door. If you seek an outstanding dining experience each time you show up, become a regular at La Focaccia. It is a uniquely fine restaurant.
Oysters & veal parm. Both Were very good. I will be back.
Absolutely delicious! Lovely atmosphere and a great staff too
Loved my game hen entree - my husband little disappointed in pasta special - had it a week before and raved - this time felt mushrooms weren’t as fresh. Service was wonderful - we ll go back again !
Food was excellent! The freshness and overall presentation was spot on. The different unique flavors and textures of the dishes really worked!
Another great BYO with endless options for pasta, seafood, chicken and veal. We tried a grilled antipasto misto that was fabulous, as well as a Caesar salad. We enjoyed the pounded veal chop Parmesan which was a plentiful dish with just enough pasta, as a side, to satisfy. The dish was enough to share and so we did. Our other entree was the sauteed calves liver with onions. Growing up with liver on the menu for dinner, this was a comfort food and it did not disappoint. Always a great meal, with servers who are no nonsense. They are ever present and make sure your dining experience is memorable.
One of our favorite spots, where the food is consistently good, the service is professional and polite, and the dinner specials are great additions to the already very strong menu. We shared two starters: the fired artichokes which were fantastic--light and crispy, not heavy and greasy, and the tuna tartare. My husband ordered a pasta special and I had the grilled shrimp with white bean puree (my standard order!). The staff treats the guests like family and it is always a pleasure to return to La Focaccia.
My daughters and I have been celebrating my wife's birthday at La Foccacia for a number of years.
In addition to the delicious food, we always interact with the wait staff. Even though we don't dine there as often as we'd like, they always remember us. It makes for a very enjoyable dining experience.
This is a great restaurant. This is a restaurant where I frequently dine with my husband and friends. On this particular night, we were three women looking for a relaxing dinner. From the very beginning, I felt very rushed. I felt the staff was hovering to take our plates away the minute they thought we were done with our meal. When asked to see a dessert menu immediately after dinner, I informed the waiter that we wanted to relax for a bit before ordering dessert. The waiter seemed annoyed by my request. This was during the week where the restaurant was not at all busy, therefore, I felt there was no need to rush us through our dinner. All in all, the food is very good.
The food was good and there were a number of items on the menu which I would have been happy to order. Pasta's were fresh and flavorful. Salads were interesting, tasty and not over dressed. Soup was delicious. Waiters were unsmiling and surly. Restaurant was louder than necessary making conversation a bit difficult. Overall I would return due to the paucity of equivalent food quality in the area. Given the prices ($30/entree; $20/pastas; $14 /salad) the if the wait staff was more welcoming, warmer while serving and more helpful I would be running back.
The appetizers were beyond small and we found hair in the food. Wouldn’t go back
Always good, great food, fresh, authentic and well presented.
Family tradition to eat at La Focaccia for New Year’s Eve. Excellent food, ambiance, and service. Always a pleasant experience.
Great for families early in the evening. BYOB and great food.
Great place, attentive service, interesting menu and BYOB.
The food was delicious. The overall experience just average. Service a bit abrupt, efficient, but not pleasant. I asked to switch out one vegetable for another and was told that they couldn't do it. The door kept opening and it was very cold!
Excellent food, great service. Looking forward to visiting again.
Delicious Italian BYO restaurant. Lovely ambiance, wonderful service.
Been coming for many years. Still my favorite Italian restaurant in New Jersey. Bring a bottle of your best Italian wine to enjoy with great food.
This is our favorite Summit restaurant. So much on the menu and added daily specials to choose from and always fantastic food. The service is tops. Love this place!
Servers are great, attentive, and often times were trying to pull plates off our table a bit too quickly during the main course. This got a bit annoying.
Ordered two fried appetizers that came out mushy due to clearly low temperature frying oil. Wife had a pasta special she enjoyed, I tried and found the sauce didn't stick to the noodles the way I'd prefer but it was still properly cooked and had good flavor nonetheless.
I also had a special, the sweetbreads, that were horrible. They were accompanied by a diner style side of steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The sweetbreads had no sauce on them and were cooked to a mushy state.
It's a restaurant I'd probably give another shot to trying some other dishes due to the service and extensive menu, allowing me to avoid anything they require oil to cook.
Very pleasant except that one in our party was quite disturbed by the noise keve
Fantastic Italian menu with great service and lively atmosphere where you can tell everyone is enjoying the place. Only negative in my opinion food was too salty.
Venison was fantastic! The service is always tops! One of our frequent faves!
Every time we visit NJ we include a night of dining at our favorite all time restaurant in the US! Even though we haven’t been locals for six years, they greet us like old friends! The staff is friendly, helpful, attentive and professional. The food is always amazing no matter the season or the choices we make. They have the best oysters on the half shell! We always bring a lasagna dish with focaccia bread back to Virginia for our son who reminds us “he needs it!” Thanks to Brian and everyone there for another wonderful meal!
Food is very good! Waiters are attentive, and friendly, along with the Maitre d !! Would recommend! Sometimes parking can be an issue but worth the little extra walk after dinner!
Excellent food, specials and service
The service was very attentive. The food was fresh & well prepared. It was a bit noisy, but the restaurant was full on a Sunday night, and that is always a good sign. We will definitely come back!
Impressive delivery for our table of 10 - everything was perfectly cooked, timed beautifully and not one issue. Delicious and great value.
La Focaccia ia a gem on Morris Avenue. Away from downtown Summit, it is worth the drive. Its namesake focaccia in the bread basket is delicious and tastes like you're in Tuscany. Appetizers and salads abound - the recent shaved Brussels sprouts and baby kale I had were outstanding - heathy and extavagant all in one dish. Their housemade pastas are tender, creative, and exciting. I also had the veal parmigiana special - it is sometimes deceptively challenging to make a simple dish taste so good. Desserts were tempting, but we were too full and completely satisfied to indulge this time. I love this restaurant.
My wife and I went for her birthday. I indicated on Open Table that it was her birthday but didn’t request anything special and they still brought a lit candle with her dessert. It was very thoughtful and appreciated. Thank you La Focaccia for a memorable meal.
We brought CT friends here on a Saturday night - reservation required. They could not get over the overall experience, particularly that it was a BYOB. Would take too long to highlight all the ups (no downs). Just go if you want Italian food at its best.
Great food and service. If you go ask to have Harry as your waiter.
