Hiding in plain sight. Neighborhood gem that serves up classic Italian dishes and creative specials. Fresh ingredients and welcoming and attentive staff make this place a "go to" spot whenever I am within 25 miles of Newark. Forget the "Iron bound." If going to NJPAC or the Prudential Center, add La Fiamma to your itinerary. Outstanding value. Great food, great service, great people (Angelo, Felix and Jessica) in a very pleasant, comfortable environment. What more can you ask for?
Birthday celebration and the food was outstanding. I had a house salad with a veal chop as the main course The veal chop was tender and flavorful and was in a very tasty wine sauce. I had a nut cake with ice cream for dessert which was delicious.
My companion had the trout special which was a large fillet stuffed with crab meat. Both the veal and trout were large portions served with ample vegetable and potato.
Only complaints would be the bread was a little on the stale side which we pointed out and the time to get our food was a little lengthy but well worth it.
Great food and fantastic service! Always a pleasure and a fun night out!
What a gem!!! Service was on point and the food was exceptional. Will definitely be going back.
Food Was delicious. Service was superb. Very extensive menu with the choices for everyone. Good value and quick service
One of my favorite restaurants. Angelo always greets us like old friends. Delicious food.
Whenever we fly out of the Newark airport we try to get there for dinner. The food is outstanding as is the service. The veal chop was one of the best i ever had.
Our friends got engaged
Great restaurant! Angelo and the staff were fantastic.
Chose this place based on the reviews (lunch prior to a show at the Prudential Center). The service was wonderful, the food was DELICIOUS! Variety of specials for the day (even during lunch) and great portion sizes. We will definitely stop again when in town.
We live in Texas...but we'll go back...we liked it that much.
Recommended dining experience authentic Italian pleasant atmosphere delicious cuisine
Lovely old-style Italian-American restaurant with a quiet and friendly vibe. Very relaxing and the service is great.
Good food. Excellent value.
We eat here every time we go to NJPAC or Prudential Center. We find the restaurant to be inviting and the food delicious. Management goes out of the way to make your eating experience one to remember.
We discovered La Fiamma through a recommendation from our hotel. It was a gem of a find. The food was just like Mama made it and the service was very attentive. It is a bit of an odd combination of a sports bar and finer dining restaurant all in one room, but it wasn't busy when we were there so noise wasn't a problem. The staff brought a tasty piece of tiramisu for our daughters birthday celebration.
Great friendly service and good food. Authentic Italian food
Local gem ,look forward to returning. Pleasant service , delicious meals .
A gem. Old school Italian. Reminded me
Of a restaurant out of the past, the kind you have great family memories from. Food was fresh, and delicious. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was perfect.
What a great find in Harrison. We were warmly greeted and welcomed and seated immediately. The service was outstanding, the food delicious and the atmosphere, while not fancy, just perfect for our group of 8. We all enjoyed our dinner and the staff were all wonderful. This restaurant moves to the head of the list of our new favorite place!
Delicious food was paired with delightful waitor. The restaurant was full and had a very nice feel. The ravioli were divine perfection. Chocolate soufflé was the best dessert. Service was absolute perfection. If only everyplace could be so charming and full of attentive staff. My 18 year old son off to college grinned from ear to ear when he heard the specials. If I wasn't living in Seattle I would go there regularly.
What a great find in Harrison. The food was amazing. The specials are very good. The price is amazing. Full bar and wine list. Staff very attentive. I'm definitely coming back!!!! Give it a try.
Great food and great staff. If you are staying near the Newark airport this is the place to go for dinner.
This is hands down the best restaurant in Harrison NJ. This place will treat you as family, and will accommodate any need you have for your meal. We have been going here for almost 10 years now and it’s been superb every time we go. We had a party of 10 people and everyone finished their plates. I hardly order from the menu since the daily specials are so good and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, that romantic date night, or just want to watch a game at the bar. You will be highly pleased. Thank you again La Fiamma and Angelo for the amazing food and service! See you next time we are back in NJ!
Excellent Food. Professional yet friendly staff. Family Friendly.
If you are looking for an authentic Italian dinner, this is NOT the place. We had two pasta dishes and neither was tasty, or seasoned. My fettucini with clams tasted like Campbells chicken noodle soup with overcooked clams. The Caesar salad was not a Caesar, but rather a mix of greens with a mayonnaise like dressing, it was good but not what it should have been.
The waiter and maitre'D were very nice and tried to do everything to make up for the food. My guess is they just didn't get it. Anyway, the Irish coffees we had after dinner instead of dessert were very good and they didn't charge for the fettucini. I think they have the right attitude, but need an Italian chef/cook to make it work. I wish them the best.
Never a bad meal!
Food, service always great. I highly recommend!
Place was tremendous. We were very impressed by the food and wine. Tops.
We were staying at a nearby hotel and found La Fiamma on Open Table. The food is fantastic, all fresh, well prepared and delicious. Service was attentive even though the place was busy. Will eat here again when in the area.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious food & great service!
We stopped in for an early dinner before a concert at the Prudential Center. We had a great time, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. This is Old School Italian in the best sense of the word. They were very accommodating with special requests or adjustments to the dish. We got there at 5 and the place was already pretty crowded with regulars from the neighborhood. If you are looking for place to eat before going to the Pru Center this is an excellent choice.
I was eating by myself and decided to try this local restaurant. I was greeted and seated. Then, everyone decided to forget that I was there. I ordered a nice bottle of wine, that I would cork and take bacon to my hotel room for following days. The main waiter was all over that, but finally I had to get up and ask for a menu from the bartender! Yep, it was one of those "we really don't believe in service if you're by yourself " nights. The funny thing is, the main waiter kept telling me how important these reviews are to their business! If the shoe fits, wear it. There are other restaurants in close proximity that ARE service oriented and fantastic food.
We went there before a show at the Prudential center & were amazed at the quality of food , variety of drinks & the service which was excellent
Tables were a little cramped & the neighborhood was not that great but food was excellent which made up for all the deficiencies of ambiance , neighborhood etc
Meravigliosa! When we heard from friends that their layover at Newark Airport from Europe to Minnesota would last several days because of bad weather, my first thought for dinner was a Spanish/Portuguese restaurant in the Ironbound district. Since they were returning from Portugal, however, I decided Italian would be more appropriate. That's when I learned of La Fiamma Italian Restaurant and Bar, and it was wonderful - from the service to the food to the price. I started with a very nice Insalata La Fiamma. Then we each had a different special. Here is where the evening could have gone very badly. Three of us were extremely happy. My swordfish special, however, was quite tough. Our server immediately saw that I was not happy and asked what I would like instead. I had originally intended to order the Ravioli stuffed with fresh lobster and brandy tomato sauce, so they prepared that without question. It was done so quickly that no one had to wait (yes - it was freshly prepared and it was delicious). Later they explained the problem with the swordfish, which was excusable. The server and management were extremely pleasant and made our dining experience memorable. I certainly will return.
Authentic is the word that comes to mind. Food, service and ambiance were all great. Family owned and operated.
Was an excellent place to eat near Prudential Center was going to a concert this was a great place to eat before
Good food at a good price. Great stop before or after going to the Prudential center.
Another great Open Table find. New to the area and needed a restaurant for a business dinner. Both the service and the food were very very good. The lamb shank special was particularly excellent. Would highly recommend for any occasion.
Love this place!
Tried out La Fiamma for NYE. A la Carte menu which was appreciated. Service was very friendly and food was very tasty. Prices were excellent for the portions provided. Will definitely return.
