Friends and I went for restaurant week, food was delicious...wish the portions were bigger! Will definitely be back to try more dishes :)
La Fia was absolutely wonderful...from our charming table for two in a window alcove to our seasoned and delightful waitress named Amy who made the evening even more memorable...we had a marvelous couple of hours enjoying the menu for Restaurant week...the octopus was among the best we've ever had, the crab cake and serrano ham bites were delicious and the trout and veal were amazing. We started with handcrafted cocktails...spring sling (highly recommended) and a refreshing manhattan...we wish we lived closer...we'd be regulars!
The food at La Fia is consistently fabulous, and the restaurant week menu had plenty of wonderfully unusual options. La Fia never disappoints.
Delicious!!! Really nice atmosphere. I will be back😊
Great food as always!
Hands down the best menu for restaurant week, tons of great choices.
La Fia always excels. Lindsey has been my server several times and she is outstanding. She remembers my favorite drinks and that there is a certain food I do not like. She always answers - or can find the answer - to our most detailed questions. The food is always superb, the drinks are divine, and the service is smooth as silk. Hangar steak is fabulous, as was the gumbo and the scallops carbonara.
La Fia never disappoints. Wonderful menu that makes decision making difficult; so many dishes look very appealing. Never had a bad choice here; the only problem is missing out on the dishes not chosen.
We were not told that we could just order other than the 35/person menu. Our server was not very informative . And a dark haired server / a girl , a bit heavy set was not very friendly to us.
La Fia remains the best restaurant in Wilmington. It is like dining in New York or Philadelphia...except you can find a free parking space on the street.
Do yourself a favor and get the Cacio Pepe!!!!!
Great food and service, will definitely be back.
We picked La Fia because we had tickets for a show at The Grand Opera House and wanted to try something new on Market Street. I loved the space, the food was delicious and creative, and the price what I would expect for a special meal. I will most certainly return.
We always think simple food prepared with seasonal and fresh ingredients is the way to go, and La Fia most of time delivers a treat. My husband's risotto with ramps and pocini mushrooms was delicious. He intended to take some home, but it never made it to a take-home container. My trout was beautifully cooked with a crispy skin but was moist, always a feat in cooking trout. We were very pleased with our meals and look forward to going again soon.
Usually the food is fantastic at La Fia but, this past visit, it was totally off. The veal parmigiana was tasteless and the pasta was cold. The trout entree was so-so. You could taste the oil in which is was fried and the farro was runny. Maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen but, for the prices, it should be consistent.
Great quality food, nice wine list, service was decent but they get busy and are perhaps a little short staffed, Very small portions and pricey.
This is a gem of a restaurant. The food is delicious, and beautifully presented. We got the beet salad to split and it was very tasty! The rigatoni was cooked perfectly and also tasted great. The Tiramisu was also wonderful! No complaints here, except that the bread had seeds which I can't eat. I wish places would be more sensitive to people with diverticulitis.
We had a great meal and a lovely time. Service was a little slow, but it allowed us to sit and relax
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at La Fia the other Saturday night. We now have a new favorite grilled octopus. My wife had a very nice trout dish and I had a great double pork chop. This is our second time at La Fia (we don't get out much) and I can't wait to go back. The service was outstanding and the vibe is laid back and comfortable. It is our favorite Wilmington restaurant.
Tried the grilled Spanish octopus as an app - excellent, the most tender I've ever had. Served on a potato lasagna with roasted tomato ragout.
My entree was their Creole Spiced Shrimp and Catfish Gumbo. Again, excellent! Perfectly spiced seafood without being too hot, the Andouille was perfect, and the grits were out of this world!
My wife ordered the pan-seared Trout Almondine, which of course I had to try. Cooked perfectly, moist and tender. It was served in a lemon and white wine sauce. The sides were Farro and asparagus. I didn't try her Farro, but the Asparagus belongs in the Vegetable Hall of Fame!
Service was quite good, very efficient without hovering over you. Just what you would expect in a top rated eatery!
La Fia is always top notch. A little pricey but worth it.
I have been looking forward to Bryan Sikora's La Fia for a while and was not disappointed . We were 4 diners with very different palates and all 4 were very happy with the meals. I had rabbit which came out piping hot and very tender; my husband had a " traditional" veal parmesan and said it was one of the best veal parms he ever had. My mother had the fish entree and my daughter had the pasta.
The restaurant is small but beautifully decorated. It is ABSOLUTELY worth the trip to Wilmington Delaware for this gem.
The stuffed dates were delicious. So was the beet salad. The scallops carbonara and beef borgignon were delicious- but too salty
Great food. Wonderful staff. Will become a regular.
Fantastic birthday dinner for my fiancé. It was my first visit and we will definitely be back!
Our meal was fantastic, the beef tartar and ceviche are excellent starters and we had the short ribs and rack of lamb as our meal, both were cooked to perfection and ver flavorful. If we lived in Wilmington this would be a regular spot for us!
We really enjoyed dining at La Fia before heading over to a show at the Grand Opera House. The food was excellent - I recommend getting a selection of their appetizers to start. The Octopus was particularly good.
The hostess was fairly rude upon entry, the rest of service was fine. My steak frites left much to be desired - the steak was not high quality and was very fatty and greasy, fries were overdone. Prices on bill were generally between $1-$2 higher for most items, than what was stated on menu. Overall, not super impressed. Would not return.
Dinner after the theatre. Had scallops carbonara & it was excellent. Scallops were done perfectly & sauce was a wonderful mixture of flavors. The restaurant is casually elegant.
Great French cuisine. So many options to choose from and it was all delicious. We are foodies and really enjoyed our meal. They space the food so that there is time to enjoy your food and relax.
I'd read good reviews of La Fia and finally had dinner after a show at the Baby Grand. I could have ordered anything on the menu and been happy. I had steak frites, which was outstanding, a side of excellent Kennett Square mushrooms (took home leftovers for Sunday omelet), and the hamachi ceviche as a starter. Everything was delicious. I'll be back again... and again.
La Gia is the best. Always good and the staff is very friendly
This was our first visit to La Fia. We expected a slightly more upscale atmosphere, but since we came with friends, it was not a problem. Our first courses of octopus were outstanding, beautifully cooked and perfectly seasoned and garnished. Our main courses were very good, just not as special. The bread was over-the-top delicious!
The selection of wines by the glass was exceptional for such a small place.
It was delicious!
Excellent food, service, & atmosphere. Great wine recommendation. Nice renovated block of town. Our first time & we will return!
The food here is delicious. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Nice evening celebrating our son’s 36th birthday.
Our go to place for a special evening and for a new dish to try out.
I've eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is always inventive and excellent. The sauce on my steak was so good I got extra bread to mop it up. Service is outstanding...particularly this last visit on 2/16. This is a "go-to" restaurant anytime I want an exceptional meal.
Went for Valentine's Day. The food wad incredible. We tried the octopus, a first for me, and it was so tender and flavorful. I had the salmon, which wad cooked perfectly and my date had the gumbo which was delicious! The desert sampling was the perfect ending .
I highly recommend La Gia for special occasions and the foodie.
Valentine’s day. We loved the small and quiet setting. The date appetizer was great, and the lamb chops were among the best I’ve ever had. Very happy with La Fia.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was fantastic and our server was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed every minute and will return soon. Best restaurant in Wilmington.
