Dinner: Monday - Saturday 5pm-9:30pm
I really enjoyed this restaurant,; food was delicious and mildly unique. I like that ever item was on the actual menu rather then listening to specials. I love the ambiance of the location and service was excellent. My only complaint, it’s so loud! If you have good hearing, you’ll be fine, but us older people, not so great. I would still go back!
Great food and service ! Nice ambiance ! We will be back
Great place to go after a trip on or before going on the train to or from NYC
We went to La Fia for my birthday dinner, and we're surprised to find out it was Restaurant week! This actually ending up being a great deal and the food was delicious as always. Highlight for us were the octopus appetizer, homemade pasta, chocolate cheesecake!
I just love this place. Consistently delicious food, great staff, all around a great place to eat. Also the last visit, which was during Restaurant Week, was still delicious AND the chef made a fabulous cake for my friends' anniversary.
Bread before the meal arrived was rather good. However, the medjool dates were very sweet and I could barely taste the cheese it was stuffed with. The beets in the beet salad were far too overcooked and mushy; the flavor of the cheese in the salad barely came through. The octopus appetizer was also very salty. The cacio e pepe main was a mistake to order. It came in a bowl sitting in quite a bit of liquid. The pepper was not cracked pepper, but rather finely ground. The chimichurri sauce that came with the skirt steak was mostly like oil; I could not taste other flavors. The dessert was also rather unremarkable. All in all, a rather expensive meal I rather would not have had to be honest. It is in a well-decorated restaurant with good ambiance, however. Food was a letdown unfortunately.
Wonderful dinner during restaurant week. We both has the filet that was exceptional. Great meal as always. Among the very best in the area and we always enjoy everything about the experience.
One if my favorite places to dine, never disappoints
Dined for Brandywine Restaurant Week....limited but good menu...the octopus appetizer and duck entree was outstanding! Such flavors!
Great atmosphere! Food and drinks were very good as well!
Since it was restaurant week it was a great deal but otherwise prices are a bit on the high side. Outstanding food, innovative menu, fairly good wine list. Terrific service. Very loud.
La Fia continues to be the best restaurant in the city of Wilmington.
Amazing food, limited menu but for me that means it is fresh every day. Pasta dishes made fresh and great.
Very buzzy atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
We stopped in Wilmington on our way to Washington D.C. and were delighted to find La Fia. It was restaurant week - which I'm usually wary of - but the selections were plentiful and the food was superb. Creative without being fussy; well-seasoned; perfectly cooked steak and fish. The octopus appetizer was sublime. And, the service was friendly and kind. Everyone seemed genuinely committed to ensuring that we were happy and satisfied. We'll be back!
We went to Last Fia door the first time for restaurant week. The food was amazing. For a romantic dinner or to have a good conversation ask for one of the back tables where it isn't so loud. We will definitely go back.
Wow! Went here for our first anniversary on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Amy, our waitress, was incredible and led us through the food and drink menus, making great recommendations and helping us have an awesome experience. The food was delicious, the drinks were tasty, and the atmosphere was perfect, just what we were looking for. We hope to return soon!
Has turned into one of our favorite places. The food is well prepared and the service was personable.
We tried La Fia for the first time last Saturday evening after taking in a movie with some friends. It is the forst itme in my memory that all four of us felt that our meals wer great! Usually somebody complains about at least a little something, but not that night! The food was so creative and yet approachable; just reasing the menu got your taste buds swirling! The atmosphere is so relaxed, yet chic. The staff was knowledgeable and quick to help. A totally delicious experience! Looking forward to our next visit!
Best cheese platter! Always a great meal with interesting and unexpected ingredients! My family from New York always requests a meal at La Fia!
Best meal i have had in a long time. We started the evening with a refreshing and original cocktail at Merchant Bar (same owners, across the street).
At La Fia, we shared an app of grilled octopus...melted in the mouth delicious...best I’ve ever had and i have that every chance i get! I had the hangar steak with brussel sprouts and finger potatoes....everything had a charred, smoky delicious flavor...incredible. My husband had a crab and pesto pasta. Very good as well. A but too much pesto for me but I’m not a huge pesto fan. We shared a tiramisu whihc was also the best I’ve ever had. Service was fun, friendly and informative. Hope to be back soon!!
Warm welcome, very accommodating, delicious foods and nice choice of wines by the glass
We’ve been here on several occasions, and have always left very happy! Prices are not low, but the excellent food is worth the price! Cozy French shabby chic atmosphere, quaint, albeit slightly loud music. Diego is an exceptional sommelier, and can give you exactly what you’re looking for, or pair with what you’re eating. We go here usually for special occasions, date night, or for a friends get-together. It is not a large venue, so a big group might be slightly difficult. Handmade pasta is fantastic. You can tell the chefs really know what they’re doing.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone downhill. The menu is small, and hasn’t changed very much over the past years. If there are few items they should be excellent. The quality and the variety are lacking .
I've eaten at La Fia twice, (and once at the sister restaurant Merchant across the street). The food was outstanding each time. La Fia is more upscale and more inventive than Merchant (which was also excellent). The do a mean steak frites, and my duck breast was outstanding. The wine, beers and cocktails were very good. Highly recommended.
Fantastic restaurant in every respect. Our favorite. I have written about La Fia before, and I'm running out of superlatives. Highly recommended.
Frankly, I would dine at La Fia if all they served was wine, cheese and their amazing bread. But their other offerings are uniformly excellent: creative cuisine, fresh ingredients, superbly prepared and straight out of the kitchen. Wonderful service - welcoming, friendly, well-informed and attentive w/o overdoing it. Love this place. Try the octopus!
This is a go to place for us. Never disappoints - special occasions and just because!
We go all the time and it never disappoints. Looking forward to next visit
I took a friend and we had a lovely evening from service to food outstanding
I love, love, love the food here. It is so creative and inventive. And always delicious.
The place is small so can get a bit loud.....that being said the menu is creative and great, the staff knowledgeable and fun (Erin) and the ambiance is stellar. Loved the salmon and foie gras appetizers, the duck entree' and the wine list was very nice. Will go back again....
This most recent visit again confirmed that La Fia is at the top of the list of Wilmington's finest restaurants. The staff is amazingly friendly and attentive without being smothering. The ambiance is perfect for a quiet dinner. The food is beautifully prepared and oh so tasty. And the wine offerings go far beyond the normal. Definitely recommended for a special dining occasion that doesn't require one to dress up too much.
Our first visit and we will return. The beet salad was a meal in itself! I was happy that we shared it! I wanted a good appetite for my vegetarian rigatoni and was glad that I was still pretty hungry! The pork loin stuffed with cabbage was delicious! Seasonal vegetables and the sauce under were really special. The multigrain bread was really special! We had to know where it came from and found out New York City. No surprise! Some of the best we have ever had!! Desert was a simple fruit tart. Our server was clearly busy but he could've been more personable. Very short answers to our questions and I always like to chat a bit. We will return though for the great food!!
Creative menu, flawlessly executed. Great cocktails and a small but well-chosen wine list.
Lovely ambiance...delicious sandwiches
Friends from Philly joined me for dinner. Our server was terrific, making it easy for us to share several appetizers and sample/share main courses. Delicious food, as always.
We waited almost 2 hours to get our food regardless if they were short staffed we should have been told prior to being served. We weren’t even offered a discount for waiting.
Perennially one of the best restaurants in the greater Philadelphia area. Great bar, and a great selection of dishes for lunch and dinner.
Food was excellent, server was very nice, but attention to detail was absent. Truthfully it could have been us, as we did a lot of talking and catching up, so our attention to the menu and ordering was lacking. Overall, would highly recommend as the food was spot on !
