Four of us had a wonderful meal at La Ferme. We had heard from the Post critic about the trout and were not disappointed. All of us found it delicious. The salads we ordered as well as a desert were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable evening in a lovely dining room with a piano player.

Can always count on a delightful dining experience, which is a reason to return frequently. Caters to tastes of old guard Washingtonians with staff both experienced and discreet. Location in an attractive, well maintained residential neighborhood. Overall relaxing atmosphere. Low sound level complimented by soothing piano background music.

Service was a bit inattentive until we had to ask for more attention. Was it because we were four women? The food was very nice quotidian light French. We all had seafood and it was deliciously prepared. Recommending trout almandine. The grand marnier soufflé was wonderful. Ambiance is sweet. We enjoyed our visit.

As usual, LaFerme met all our expectations!!!! And exceeded some!

We have enjoyed our experiences at la Ferme for many years and were delighted that they haven’t changed in that regard!!

Lovely setting. Food I assume was French Country....well prepared, but I thought like ' comfort food' ...nothing creative or exciting. Most of diners were aged 60+. I imagine they were locals who like their food traditional and dependable, and are not adventurous eaters. Lovely setting, but disappointing for a ' foodie'

Have had several lovely lunches here. This one was the best -- and the impact of the Washington Post Re-review was clear -- and added a nice vibe and energy to the restaurant.

We have lived in the DC area for over 30 years
We have heard about La Ferme but never dined.

Tonight, for our 29rh Wedding Anniversary, was our first dining/culinary experience at the restaurant.

It was exquisite. Amazing. Unforgettable.

We will be back.

SOON!!!

La Ferme knows the three cardinal rules of a restaurant. Service, service, and more service. The food is, as I would humbly assert, 3 stars on the Guide Michelin. We were there for our 35th anniversary and it was wonderful. We shall return!

A neighborhood gem, but I drove from the outer suburbs to come to dinner here. It is perfect if you want excellence in food and service and you want to be able to hear what your dinner partners are saying. I brought a worldly friend from SF who proclaimed the mussels and fries the best she's ever had. The praline souffle was divine. I highly recommend La Ferme.

Full restaurant on Easter Sunday very well managed by staff and Chef Scott’s kitchen team. So many people but you were still able to talk. Easter menu had many familiar items/all really done just the way we wanted and in generous portions. LaFerme just gets better and better—and as (smile) non-snobby experienced gourmets, we are happy to have this restaurant uptown and accessible. Bravo

I preface this by stating that we went for brunch on Easter (2018) and though our experience was less than a fully pleasant one due to the restaurants inability to handle the holiday crowd, we will return. We think it only fair to give it another try when the numbers are fewer and extra tables are not seemingly stuffed in all manner of places for the occasion. The reason is singular; the food was excellent. It also should be noted that the staff was pleasant and the service was exceptional given the circumstances.

Best dirty martini ever, incredibly tender venison, attentive but not over-bearing service. Tables are well spaced and conversation is easy. Location is tucked away from the hustle bustle of Bethesda in a quiet neighborhood. Wait staff has been there "forever", so must be well treated.

Our repeat visit was every good as our first. Although we had only been there once before, Mark, the bartender, remembered how we wanted our Martini. The food, service, ambience were as good as we have had in recent memory. We will be back.

La Ferme is the "real thing" as far as French cuisine goes. I had a great bowl of onion soup, an oyster fricassee, and sauteed mushrooms. With excellent baguette for dipping, it was YUMMY. And we had a delicious bottle of Pouilly Fuisse. Doesn't get much better. Our waiter, Samuel, was excellent.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday at La Ferme. It is an excellent experience, as the staff were very pleasant, the food and wine selection was great, service was very good, and a lot of available parking. Will definitely go back again for a fine dining experience.

Birthday lunch for a friend. Due to traffic, one of us was very late, but the staff shows no signs of impatience and gave just the right level of attentiveness (not intrusive, but always available if needed) once our lunch got going. All the courses were delicious, especially the amaretto soufflé which was superb. Warm and inviting atmosphere on a sleety late winter day.

Wonderful old-school restaurant with delicious food, excellent unobtrusive service, and relaxing ambience. A throw back (in a great, nostalgic way) to fine dining as it used to be, with piano music in the background, a roaring fire, large floral arrangements, white tablecloths, and a gentle grace. This 40-something will definitely return!

Three of us met for a weekday lunch at La Ferme and appreciated the good, classic French food and quiet, civilized atmosphere. Service was polished; the wine pours were generous; and I would highly recommend it for a business-related meal, a romantic dinner, or any occasion where you want the food and conversation to be the focus. Note that this is not a trendy place, and the food is what we used to seek out to impress our companions in 1970. But it remains quite good, delicately seasoned and sauced, and nicely presented, and the whole place is pleasantly retro. The location off Chevy Chase Circle is a bit out of the way, but it suits the French country inn feeling. A nice sized parking lot adjacent to the restaurant adds to the convenience. It's a great place to take anyone who likes good, Continental cuisine and service but is not seeking a cutting edge experience.

Wonderful meal. We had fricassee of bay scallops, morels, en croute (split - it was plenty for an appetizer) and venison medallions as an entree. Choc mousse cake and Grand Marnie soufflé for dessert. Everything was elegantly prepared and presented.

Excellent meal. Our server, Pino, has been at this restaurant "forever."
Menu seemed expanded since our last visit with several memorable choices. All of our meals were prepared well and quite tasty. Portions were appropriate.
We did have the souffle for dessert but next time we would like to try the other options.

The food was the best we have had there in a long time. We remember when the menu would just have three or four listings and we'd bring friends and there was nothing anybody liked. That has all changed, the menu had numerous choices, they were all delicious (I had the oyster fricassee and the trout almondine) and the French cottage ambiance was, as always, a treasure. We especially enjoyed the live music from a very gifted pianist who played Gershwin and Irish songs (it was the day before St. Patrick's Day). We also remember when the service could be quite DeGaulian. This time everyone was quite cordial, and we had an excellent time there.
