La Famiglia Ristorante
The food was unbelievable and the service was impeccable. We had a super amazing experience and would come back again and try even more dishes!
Presentation. Service and Food. All were amazing
It was a lovely dinner.
Food and service were excellent.
The service the environment the wine and of course the food
It is the perfect place to go for a special night out
We always enjoy dining at La Famiglia. The entire staff always provides warm and friendly service.
My husband had the Veal Medallions and I had the Rolled Breast of Chicken. Both dishes were delicious although the outside of the rolled chicken was a little tough. For an appetizer I had Totino Di Melenzane - Layered Eggplant Slices. That dish was absolutely delicious. I could eat that as a main dish any day!
The wine list has wine to suit every budget.
It was a nice dinner. Perfect for a romantic meal in a lovely setting.
Love this restaurant. Pasta was great but Caesar Salad lacked flavor. We used to visit this restaurant all the time but due to the distance, we don't get there often. But we would go again in a heartbeat.
Soda machine was off and coke was flat.
But other than those minor things...... all 4 of us loved it.
It was both our first time visiting La Famiglia and we throughly enjoyed our experience , from the hostess to the bartender and our server , plus the food was marvelous . We will defiantly go back.
Went for Restaurant Week. Food was excellent, although the portions were a bit small compared to other Italian restaurants. Food was delicious and well presented. Would like to go back again for regular menu.
Loved the meal, as always! Service is always the best! Dessert was ok. Disappointing because they make such wonderful desserts!
Lived up to its reputation. Excellent wine list too!
The best food ever. My husband and I went to this location for a quick meal not expecting much of anything. But OMG! the food was delicious. If it was a finger linking, plate kicking place we sure would have done both. We plan to visit again by the end of the month.
Highly recommended. If you truly appreciate fine food and service, this is the place for you.
Great food and service was on point. Waiters in suits and white linnen tablecloths gives it a very upscale feel. Awesome wine list and cellar in the basement by the restrooms. Crab ravioli was fantastic .
We were excited for restaurant week but the food was not that tasty. Service was excellent!
The wait staff were very friendly! The food was delicious
Great dinner celebrating our anniversary! Food was terrific as was the service!
Undoubtedly the best Italian restaurant in Philadelphia by far
Best food in the city.
It was forty years since last dining at La Famiglia and was not disappointed in the total dining experience. I was very happy to see it included in the Philly Restaurant 2021 list. Food, Service and Ambiance were outstanding. I’ll return again soon!
The servers and hostess were amazing. The food was also very good.
Excellent service & food.
I was quite disappointed in our dining experience. Although their website showed extensive wine list, we were presented with a list of consisted on 1 each, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chianti. No producers were mentioned, nor vintage dating. There were two wine by the glass specials one Barolo and one Barbaresco. No producer, just glass and bottle price. To be fair, I had a glass of the Barolo which was quite delicious and worth the $20 a glass price. My octopus appetizer was fair. Not really noteworthy. My wife’s pesto and Burrata cheese app.was good. My entrée of bronzino was cooked nicely and filleted table side. The tableside service was nice, but the flavor was unexciting. My wife’s scallops were not cleaned properly, tough and overcooked. The desserts were obviously frozen out of a box.We were disappointed and are well aware that the Covid situation has changed things, and not always for the better. Not worth $240.
I've been going to la famiglia restaurant for probably 10 years or so. I believe it's one of the better Italian restaurants in the city ,old world class the staff knows you and you feel like you're returning to family. It's a great deal now going on also for restaurant week
If you want authentic Italian, this is the place to go. Food and service are excellent. There is a hidden gem as well. If you don't have to use the restroom, ask to see the wine cellar! It's awesome!
The food was good and we even ordered food we never had before & it was good too. The ambiance was nice and very cozy. Now the drink menu was nice as well we got a drink called the "surprise" drink and it was very good! The servers were very nice but the only thing I will complain about is how long it took to get serviced and get our check at the end. We had a good time and we actually spent 3 hours there laughing talking and eating
Food was okay but not impressed. Very limited menu. Dessert sampler, only choice was terrible.
We went for my husband’s birthday and it was our first time there. We will go regularly now. The food was the best Italian food we have had in Philadelphia. The service was impeccable. The waiters could not do enough for you. A fantastic dining experience. The decor is lovely and they take COVID precautions. Tables well spaced and hand sanitizer at every table. Everyone wore masks properly. A wonderful dining experience.
I am sorry I had to give it one star.
Meal was good and service was excellent.
My problem arises after dinner.
The waiter was given my credit card for the meal and cash for his tip.
Outside as we were approaching my car the manager comes running across the street waving my check. He is showing me the receipt and asking what about a tip for the service you were given.
I explain that a tip was given directly to the waiter in cash.
He just walks away leaving me standing there with people looking at me.
Imagine my embarrassment that is why I will never be back there again.
Wonderful food and service
The wait staff were some of the best in the city! We weren’t rushed with our dinner and the evening was amazing between the food, drinks and atmosphere. We felt as if we were VIPs that evening, could not have asked for a better date night! Also, downstairs is an incredible wine cellar if you appreciate wines! This restaurant is a must see!
Let me start off by saying the food was outstanding! The service on the other hand was not. I am writing this review in order for the restaurant to hopefully figure out how to organize themselves. When we arrived we waited quite a bit of time before someone came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. At this point we didn't have any menus. Once we got the menu's and reviewed what drinks we got, I received the worst Margirtia I have ever had. My mistake for ordering a Margarita from an Italian restaurant, but it tasted like hand sanitizer. We truly weren't sure who our actual waiter was and that as frustrating. When the food came out it was perfect; warm, delicious, and tasty! It seemed almost worth it to deal with all of the issues just for that food. I want the restaurant to figure out how to manage their staff and to make sure they are timely when going to tables, especially when they make a reservation and are spending a pretty penny to eat there.
We love this place. The food was excellent as usual! Tee service is top notch. We did have a drunk vulgar person a couple tables over and the staff addressed the issue promptly. I was shocked for my boyfriend to propose after dessert. The staff gave us complimentary champagne and offered their best wishes. Overall one of our favorite places to dine!!
Great food.great service.Best Italian restaurant in Philly
Excellent food and ambience. love this place! Ge the veal chop!
Special, wonderful night out at La Famiglia. Can’t wait to go back!
Our first visit here and it was very memorable - very good food and excellent service. It is in a nice setting in old city off the crowded streets and is romantic or festive, whichever you request. It was full on a Thursday night so they clearly have a following. We had a great experience. Our cocktails were outstanding. My husband had penne ala familigia which was good, and I had the homemade pesto cavatelli with burrata which was excellent if you like pesto. The smoked mozzarella appetizer was unique but we wouldn’t order that again - it’s basically a big slice of cheese with mushrooms and a delicious drizzle, but I would try another app. We were surprised with a delicious custard for dessert for our anniversary and again we can’t say enough about the setting and the staff. All were charming and professional. Grazie!!
Great food and attentive service. You get what you pay for and we certainly felt we did. We would highly recommend La Famiglia.
We had the best dinners. Caesar’s salads and calamari. We ordered veal parmigiana and bronzino. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered penne pasta. Everything was wonderful. Great service and fabulous setting outdoors. We even had music. Great evening.
Thank you La Famiglia.
Three of us, one celebrating a Birthday spent an absolutely delightful evening here, feasting on four courses The evening was made especially memorable by the charming Owner who sat with us for a while.. Every single item we ordered and even more--the restaurant provided a delicious Birthday desert-- was top of the line I have dined here for over 25 years, and am a member of an exclusive Italian Gourmet Society that arranges several Feasts here annually--and I can honestly tell you that every aspect of dining here--the quality ingredients, the excellent servers, the elegant decor is perfection.. I dine out every night at fine restaurants in Center City, and this is absolutely among my favorites..
