La Famiglia Ristorante
Wonderful! Best service, lovely atmosphere, food is always delicious. Presentation exceptional!
Well worth the visit. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Great for that special night out.
Outstanding food and excellent service. We will definitely return.
At the conclusion of our meal we booked our next celebration!
Great food, great service. Will be back again!
My wife has Celiac disease and every time we come she finds another gem for dinner.
Service was incredible as usual and wine list spectacular.
Lovely restaurant! Wonderful food! Perfect atmosphere! Will definitely return!
Food and service were excellent. Very old world Italian which is nice. Nothing creative about the food. Just delicious. As expected, very expensive. Went for a special occasion.
This was our second visit there. We went back because we loved the food! Our second visit did not disappoint! Everything was excellent! Will definitely go back!
It was a great experience with great food and great service!
Wonderful Branzino and Gnocchi. Service was very friendly and impeccable. Thank you Gitaeno and Manuel!
We came to the restaurant on our recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in we were in love. The wait staff were all on point! The preparation and presentation of the food was stupendous. The flavors of all the food, appetizer, entrée and dessert were magnificent. The entire experience was top notch, even down to the walk to the basement. The marble staircase, the brass handrails and the wine cellar. Fantastic. Thank you LaFamiglia!!! We will be back every time we visit Philadelphia.
An unlikely looking venue but beautiful inside. From the Carpaccio to the Branzino, filleted table side, this was a thoroughly. The service was excellent but not overbearing. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a higher end Italian meal.
Terrific. Can’t wait to return. Service impeccable and food is delicious
Food was excellent. Our table was a little small but we did have a party of 7. Other than that EXCELLENT!!!!
Wonderful attentive service. A throwback to way dinner should be served
Amazing food and amazing service! Was my first visit but definitely won’t be my last! Loved it!!!
Consistently good food, fluffy gnocchi, super service, good drinks. Very good restaurant!
This was my third experience with your establishment. I must say, each and every time was quite amazing! Although i am an African American woman, I appreciate the fine Italian atmosphere. 👌🥂🍷 From a real Foodie, KUDOS, La Famglia!!
Wonderful dining experience! Great food, wine list, ambience and caring, attentive service. Bravo, Famiglia Ristorante!
We went for restaurant week menu. The appetizers were better than the entrees. I had the mushrooms and proccutte and my husband had fried mozzarella. For entrees, I had the filet mignon which was meh - not very flavorful. My husband had the veal (forget the name), but he enjoyed his dish. Overall, the service is excellent, the food was a bit disappointing. That said, we’ve been there outside of restaurant week, and the bronzino was really good. Maybe it was different quality for the special menu
I was very disappointed after a delicious meal there several years ago and a revisit to Panorama a few months ago which was wonderful - lovely new decor and fantastic food. At LaFamiglia the service was fine as were the drinks but the food, except for the salad was tasteless an poorly prepared. I understand that Risotto is tricky for a restaurant but the risotto was bland and overcooked. My husband said his veal was like a tough veal patty and lacking in any flavor. No pepper grinder or additional parmesan. The desserts were sweet but unremarkable. Perhaps this is what one should expect during Restaurant Week.
Well prepared Italian food. A worthy Restaurant Week option.
A group of high school chums (friends for 40+ years) decided to try La Famiglia during Center City Restaurant Week. We all had a wonderful time! Service was great, food delicious! Thanks for a fun night out in town!
Ate here for restaurant week. Food was no better than a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner. Good reviews are a joke and must be paid for. Don’t waste your time or money.
We cane to La Famiglia for our first time for restaurant week. It was a wonderful experience from delicious food to great service to romantic ambience .
We went for dinner during Restaurant Week. We were totally pleased with the restaurant. Ambiance is lovely, food was delicious and service was great. Would definitely recommend La Famiglia. Also, they have an unbelievable wine cellar.
Mozzarella appetizer was great. My date had the risotto and loved it, I had the filet and it was the worst steak I’ve ever had. Definitely wasn’t a filet cut and it was not good. Deserts were good.
Dinner was wonderful! I had the gnocchi in three cheese and veal.
I went there during the restaurant week and it totally worth it! I would love to visit again. They have great service, great food, and a great wine cellar downstairs. Personally I love my filet of sole (a kind of fish I guess). It was fresh and soft and very flavory. Mussels in Philly are generally average, I got nothing to comment on that. But I absolutely love the sample of apple crunch. It was my fav. I don't have sweet teeth, but I think it was surprisingly good. Berry jam was delightfully sour, with walnut crunches, to make the dessert just right.
I came here for Philadelphia’s restaurant week and I was actually very surprised by how poor the service and the food was. I’m not sure if it was because it was restaurant week or what, but the food had no flavor and my salmon and my friends shrimp were completely overcooked. We ordered Diet Coke which was brought out twice, completely flat both times. Furthermore, we ordered coffee to be brought out with dessert which was brought out much later than dessert and it was cold. Lastly, I got very stomach sick after my meal. Horrible experience!!! Never had such a disappointing restaurant week experience.
La Famiglia has been a family run restaurant for three generations and - until last week - we have enjoyed our meals there. It's one of a number of Philly Italian restaurants we liked. Last week we made a reservation for 4 (including two friends) for lunch during Restaurant Week. Our friends had to cancel at last moment so we were just two. There is a price fixe menu for RW. The pastas we ordered for apps were very good. The dessert sampler was too. But the entrees left a lot to be desired. My veal scallops were not only small but smothered with sauteed onions (and cheese) that lacked flavor. Even worse was the Veal Cutlet my partner ordered. It was a flavorless breaded cutlet with NO seasoning and some unflavored greens on top. I mentioned this to the waiter (excellent) and was going to write the owner when I got home. (He was not on site). When I did, he said he heard about the food issue and replied - I quote - " I don’t think we would have been in business 42 years if we did, but I will not make any excuses because I tasted the veal myself and there was no taste. Just a breaded piece of veal with no seasoning is inexcusable. I hope that you and xx will change your minds about returning". There was no offer to remove the charge or have us back again as their guest. That would have been good business sense.
I wrote back again explaining that we paid $50 (no drinks) for a mediocre meal (which he agreed was "inexcusible") and waited three days for a reply before posting this review. Having received none I decided to save others from our experience. Hence this review.
We went here with neighbors for dinner during restaurant week. The food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is beautiful. My husband and I will be back again and will try their regular dinner menu.
Beautiful place; Excellent service; Food was amazing. I will be returning.
Great food and service!
Went for Restaurant Week. The Atmosphere and aesthetics are beautiful. The food on the other hand is a different story. The bread is straight up just white (prolly Costco/Sams club) bread with normal butter (no olive oil/herbs etc). The food that came out is something I could have gotten at a Golden Carrol Buffet. The fillet Mignon was really bad and it came with steamed vegetables that had zero flavor and looked like they came from one of those steam bags you can buy from the grocery store. Spent over $120 total on my bill and felt like the food was total crap. We also got the salmon, the mushroom appetizer and the bolegnese. All of these things in terms of quality could be better found at a fazoilis/Olive Garden/cruise ship for half the price. Will not be going back again ever. Huge waste of money. DO NOT GO for restaurant week especially.
My wife and I spent the weekend in Philly and again had the pleasure of dining at la Famiglia. This is by far our favorite restaurant. The staff is very knowledgeable and engaging. The food is always top shelf and the wine list is hard to imagine unless you go and see the wine cellar for yourself. Already planning our next trip back, job well done to all who made this another memorable dining experience!
Excellent!!Havent been there in years. It was better than I remembered. Elegant dining. Old fashioned good service. Hard to find that anymore. Owner is charming. Makes a point of spending time at each table. Loved it
This is likely a “traditional” Philly dining landmark. The crowd was older, we’ll-dressed and probably long time loyal patrons. The sashimi tuna app was horrible; should have sent it back. My lamb was awash in heavy sauce that overwhelmed the naturally delicious taste of lamb. The others at our table of four agreed the food was “okay” - seafood ravioli was heavy, tuna was pretty good. But at those prices, we all four agreed it was a mediocre value and not a place we’d return.
A culinary delight; La Famiglia raises the bar in every facet. Service impeccable while welcoming and warm. Ambiance romantic with a fabulous Italian twist. The food speaks for itself; nothing compares. Their wine “almanac” of a list spares no region . It’s a habit, a most enjoyable and rewarding one.
