About La Famiglia Ristorante
The Sena family tradition of culinary excellence dates back to early 1947 when Carlo “Papa” Sena began to cook in postwar Naples. The family carried this experience across the Atlantic and opened La Famiglia in 1976 in the shell of a Colonial tea warehouse. Today, La Famiglia stands as the finest Italian restaurant in Philadelphia and a major landmark on the city’s vibrant restaurant scene.

La Famiglia Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. The service was impeccable and the food delicious!! We also enjoyed the opera singer and piano player- which we did not know would be there. We will definitely go back and would plan it on a night that the opera singer will be there!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I love this restaurant. We try to eat there 3 to four times a year. The food is always excellent. The service is attentive. The wine list is probably the best in the city for Italian wine. The past is great. They have a focus on veal which has always been very good. This is a top restaurant.
As usual, everything was fabulous. I have been a fan of La Famiglia for many years
and it never disappoints. The best Italian cuisine in the city of Philadelphia! Perfect
service, ambiance and food quality. Great wine at all price points and amazing experience.
We have visited this restaurant man many time and are never ever disappointed with the food, service friendliness of management and ambiance. We consider it a special place for two or two entertain for business or pleasure. It is a gem worth visiting often. The wine list is beyond belief and amazing.
Our group went to La Famiglia after the theater (matinee). It was restaurant week and there was a special menu option. We were the first arrivals for dinner and were given a nice quiet table. Our server, Wilson, was excellent as was the food. 3 of us had the veal special. We will definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to go back soon.
Disappointment is an understatement. I had dinner here over 5 years ago and decided to change things up and try it again. The restaurant looks like it walked out of 1990. The food is mediocre and the menu is small. The wine menu is great if that's what you're looking for. There is no drink menu. The alcohol selection is awful. The first three drinks I asked for couldn't be made because they lacked the ingredients. As I was leaving I noticed a variety of Banker's Club products. I wasn't aware this was served outside of dive bars. The desert menu was missing every Italian desert you can imagine including tiramisu. This restaurant is ideal for the over 60 crowd with diminished taste buds that seeks privacy and a large wine list and misses the decor of the 90s.
Brought my family here for a great meal, 5 of us. Service was attentive, not pushy, and timed just right. Explained the menu items and the night's specials. The salt baked branzino, served table side was excellent. I highly recommend this place. Authentic Italian meals- no red sauce or gravy with spahghetti here!
Me and my significant other have been coming to this restaurant multiple times a year since the end of 2014. Our visit to what was our favorite restaurant just was not the same. Prior to this evening we easily rated 5 stars, not today however. Service made us feel unwelcome and inferior to the other guests in the dinning room. There was also a noticeable difference in the food. We may be back again to give another chance but are very skeptical at this point in time.
Had to impress whay I am hoping is a new client. Had my partner salesguy take them to the awesome wine cellar while I spoke with the head waiter. Told him I needed two really good bottles of wine that wouldn't kill the expense account. They have a massive wine list and it would have taken me forever to find something fitting the bill. He was great and we ended up having a third. He knew exactly what we needed to do for our clients and he handled them like an expert. Created a special appetizer for us, pampered us and at the end of the night, sent us several pours of their homemade and delicious lemoncello. They created a special night for us, food was fabulous, menu was eclectic but smaller in size, however, they didn't overload it with junky seafood on pasta dishes. It was comfort Italian food like my grandmother used to make. I looked like a rock star! Many thanks to the incredible staff!
Great place and food (although the portions were on the small side for Italian). We had a nice dining experience. We enjoyed it when Giuseppe came over to say Hi. It was a bit on the expensive side for a Wednesday night meal...seems to be more of a special occasion place.
The fav bean and shrimp salad was delicious. Bread was good. I had the seafood fusilli or something close to that name. It was not hot. Sauce was bland and the shrimp looked like the little frozen shrimp. I wasn't impressed. Two mussels that were tiny. Dessert fruit tart was nice and coffee was good. Slow to fill water. We were done with dinner and had ordered dessert and coffee and were still staring at our dirty plates.
