La Famiglia Ristorante
Fantastic restaurant with exceptional service. Wine selection was amazing and food was great. We’ll be back soon!
This is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. We try to get there at least every other month. We have been going there since 1980. The food is great, the ambiance is calm, the wine list is probably the best in the city for Italian wine. Plan to spend an evening of relaxation. Do not skip the pasta, probably the best I have ever had. Don't be afraid of the wine list. Yes it is large but the waitstaff will help.
La Famiglia is one of the last “great” restaurants. I’ve been dining here since I was a child and the pride in service, food, presentation is still evident today. Relatively few restaurants know how to make their guests feel as if they are the most important guests of the evening. La Famiglia does it sincerely. It is like dining with beloved friends. The food, as always, is exquisite. Fresh, simple but elegant, you can’t go wrong with any item on the menu. Ask to see their wine book.if you can’t find a wine to enjoy, it doesn’t exists. An elegant, highly enjoyable dining experience.treat yourself and dine there as soon as possible.
Wonderful night. Gaetano was awesome. Food delicious. We will be back!
Best Italian restaurant in Philadelphia
Incredible meal. What a truly wonderful dining experience. This is an absolute must visit if you love traditional Italian cuisine. The service is impeccable and on this particular visit the owner made us feel as though we were actually eating in his home.
By far the best Italian restaurant in the city always has been my favorite place to go in all of Philadelphia and the surrounding areas
Food was decent but extremely overpriced for what we got.
Understanding Covid has taken a toll could explain the smaller portions but to get 2 scallops for almost $40 is too much. I don’t like writing bad reviews but had to leave honest feedback here
Wonderful, old world. One of the last special places around.
I am never disappointed in the food or service. Everyone is professional yet friendly.
My favorite restaurant...
Service was good but portions were small and not enough variety on restaurant week menu. Food was either under or over seasoned.
Great food, great service, extensive wine list with really cool wine cellar. We will definitely return!
Decor is amazing; food and portions were definitely exaggerated. Prior to ordering the salmon, i inquired on portion; the waitress was misleading. Also, the lack of variety in side options wasn’t impressive.
Wonderful food wonderful service!! First time there. Will definitely go back.
Great traditional Italian dining, excellent service. I LOVE the fact that Open Table give a chance to rate noise levels. One of us suffers from some hearing loss and the staff was very considerate in what table they gave us and in adjusting the sound system so that the arias were not deafening. I look forward to returning. Restaurant Week menu had lots of tasty and interesting choices.
Food and service were excellent
Went for restaurant week. Service was fantastic, food was fantastic, and the setting is quiet, romantic, and beautiful. Sommelier was extremely helpful with the wine list, which is literally an encyclopedia of wine. All in all a beautiful evening that my girlfriend very much enjoyed.
An old favorite!!! Was glad to see it was participating in CC Restaurant Week. Food and service were exceptional.
If you have enjoyed La Famiglia in the past, I’d definitely say it’s a fantastic place to revisit!
Bait and switch on the $35 restaurant week special...when you arrive they’ll let you know it’s actually $48...wtf!?
Amazing!!! We had a wonderful dinner that was filled with incredible food and service!
La Familia and it’s sister RESTAURANT Panorama are by far the two finest Italian restaurants in the city the Johnny-come-lately’s can’t compare to these two classical Italian restaurants wonderful wonderful place always enjoyable been going there for 42 years
Servers were friendly and helpful. Food was fresh and delicious. Very extensive wine list! Great find in old city.
La Familia, along with Panorama, are our "go to" restaurants when we visit the Flower Show in Philly. Both were great this week.
Wonderful place for a great Italian meal in an old school setting
La Famiglia is old world high end Italian which never disappoints.
Fantastic Service
Food was all excellent, from appetizers to desserts. Service was excellent and ambiance was very very nice. Note that I found $40 for a double of Macallan 12 Scotch whisky was a bit overpriced, but the wines that the others had were all very good values. Overall a great experience.
La Famiglia remains your classic old-school formal restaurant, compete with waiters in suits, a deluxe interior and a multi-tier dessert cart. The service is professional and the food is well prepared. Prices are on the high side, but that's what you should expect at this caliber of a restaurant.
I have been to La Famiglia many time in the Past . This Restaurant is one of the Best Italian in the City .
The Pasta was great and Try the Veal Its the Best in the City !!! (Some Line as in the Godfather )
Classic modern Italian fine dining that’s not to be missed as big part of the fabric of the Philadelphia dining scene.
This is one of my favorite places for special occasions. Truly homemade and delicious food with impeccable service. It’s never disappointing.
La Famiglia has a great vibe , as well as , phenomenal food and service. Check it out !!
La Famiglia does not disappoint! Made the reservations as mentors were in town, and needed a good restaurant that was not too busy but still offered a great experience. It’s been years since I was at the restaurant for restaurant week, but I had good memories.
From the moment we arrived, till we recovered our coats, everyone truly enjoyed themselves. The food was great (I did not enjoy the pheasant ragu) and dessert ... was DELICIOUS. Even more the wine list will not disappoint. I hope to come back for a wine event. Either way, do yourself a favor, enjoy this gem in Penn’s Landing! You will not be disappointed.
If you need some old school Italian food, service, and ambiance, they have all you need and more. The wine list can bring the strongest man to his knees.
We came with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday and we could not have chosen a better restaurant, the entire experience was excellent. We will be making this a regular restaurant and especially for celebrations to allow more people to experience La Famiglia Ristorante perfection.
Food was excellent as was service. Dessert was delicious but overpriced.
This restaurant never disappoints. The service and the quality of food are beyond what anyone could expect.
The owner is not friendly but the staff is incredible. They pay attention to every detail, remember your special requests and make everyone feel welcomed.
The food was very good and a good value for restaurant week lunch! First course pasta was nice portion and delicious. Second course I had the sole, which you don’t see on menus very often! Dessert was the right size after a large lunch.
The service was a little slow and disorganized, but I think it was because a large porous of about 9 or 10 came in at the same time as we did.
Enjoyed our night for restaurant week, good service and the noise level wasn’t terrible! I’m a sweet white wine person so not many choices for me but the Riesling was fine !
Great experience/food and a value due to restaurant week...
