La Famiglia Ristorante
I love the inviting atmosphere and the attentive waitstaff. I would definitely return to try more dishes. There is a really cool (literally cold) wine cellar so I will surely return to try a glass or two. be careful, the warm bread is addictive. The salmon was cooked to perfection and accented with a delicious citrus flavored sauce. My coworkers raved about the chicken breast with spinach and cheese. We all wished we had more of the mixed vegetables, they were really tasty but definitely sparse on the serving size. The surprise bday slice was delish! Service was well-timed, welcoming, attentive, and friendly. What a hidden gem!
Just love this restaurant
Amazing service and excellent food!!
Outstanding wine list, service, and food. A keeper!!!
We took our son here to celebrate his 21st birthday. I used to frequent the restaurant as a child with my parents and I was delighted to see nothing had changed. This is one of Philadelphia’s Premier restaurants.
The creative Italian cuisine is out of this world, the staff is professional yet warm and certainly makes you feel right at home. Everything was perfection from the moment we entered till the time we left. You will not find a more refined and elegant dining experience.
It was restaurant week here in Philadelphia.
There was a limited menu but it was great.
Six of us were there for dinner and we all got something different.
All of us said our choices were really good.
It is a restaurant worth making a long trip for.
A place where friends can enjoy a good meal and still hear what others at the table say as the noise level is low. And the service is perfect, considerate.
As always, La Famiglia is a very special restaurant. The ambiance, the food and the elegance of the restaurant and service is impeccable.
Was eating alone this time. Staff recognized me as returning customer with warm friendly greeting. Veal was outstanding as was service, as always.
Wonderful service and food!!
Everything about this place from the food to the service was fantastic !
Every time we go ti La Famiglia we are treated with hospitality and warmth. The food is,always ftesh and wonderfully seasoned. Delizioso! We will continue to dine at this retsurant for all occasions and just because.
Excellent. Great wine selection.
We were there during Restaurant Week. The service was absolutely perfect and fabulous. Lovely place. I had a gnocchis with four cheeses for my first course; it was slightly over cooked and mushy. My chicken dish was tasty but also a bit over cooked and dry.
The food was exceptional and the service was as well. Would recommend your restaurant to anyone, it was a night well spent.
The food was excellent but the service was questionable. I felt like I was bothering my server whenever I needed something. I had to ask other staff to find my server to order a second glass of wine (after I sat there for about 15 minutes with an empty glass). When we left the restaurant, all the staff were talking among themselves, in the front, with their backs to us. Unusual behavior.
I dine out 7 days a week and at good restaurants. This behavior was quite unusual for a good Philadelphia restaurant (of which there are many).
I suggest the La Famiglia staff go to dinner at Volver or Vetri or Jean-George or some other fine dining restaurant to see what good service looks like. I felt like I was in the 1980's with a formal staff looking down their noses at the lowly diners.
We've found La Famiglia consistently outstanding, both in the food and service. This is old-world ambiance that you seldom find in today's sterile restaurant environments. Great for special occasions or any time you want to relax and enjoy a delicious meal in a pampering environment.
The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming, made us feel like family.
After several years we returned to a favorite and special spot to celebrate an anniversary. Lovely old world ambiance with an immediate pleasant welcoming. Cocktails couldn’t be better. The menu was rather ordinary, the problem was, so was the food , ordinary. We wanted the evening to be special and it was , except for the dinner: lamb and veal were our choices. Deserts were okay. This lovely spot could be so much more with some modern menu additions and attention from the kitchen. A few changes and this could have been a 5 star review
It is always consistently good food and the three of us enjoyed our meal very much I had mentioned that in past restaurant weeks the veal saltimbocca was a little overcooked and this time they did a perfectly so kudos to them
The funghi et prociutto appetizer was perfect - the flavors melded together perfectly. Saltimbocca chicken and pasta bolognese entrees were equally delicious. Dessert was a trio of fine selections (so glad they didn't include cheesecake) and superb. Service was quiet and attentive. Atmosphere quiet, so very enjoyable and relaxing. Wine list very complimentary to the food. We will return. (Please excuse my Italian spelling; I am not sure it is correct.) We enjoyed dinner very much.
The lunch was superb and the service was great.
I had little neck clams in a delicate white sauce and my friend had a hearty linguini bolognese for the first course.
For the main course, we both had a fabulous fillet of sole.
For desert,we both had a trio of little cakes that were scrumptious.
Overall my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Service, food, atmosphere were all excellent as usual.
Wonderful food and service, excellent wines
Getano provided what felt like a private, pleasurable dining experience. The food was home-made and delicious. Dessert was unique and delectable. The wine list was a bit overwhelming but we found the perfect red to compliment our meal. If you like Italian, this place is for you! We are looking forward to returning very soon!
So glad that we decided to dine at La Famiglia last Wednesday evening during a visit to Philadelphia. We enjoyed a delicious, relaxing dining experience in a beautiful and cozy restaurant.
Our dishes were excellent and the service was great. A little pricey but worth it. The only downside is parking. The parking koisk was beat up and hard to read in the dark. The parking authority will be standing by. Watch yourself.
Beautiful dining room. Quiet. Superb food. Wonderful, attentive, but not intrusive service.
One of my favorites, The food is exquisite in preparation and presentation. The service is of an "old school" type that only the finest restaurants provide. I have brought my friends here and told many more to go. For the wine lovers, you just have to see their book of selections.
Warm and wonderful, old world traditional Italian restaurant with excellent service and delicious food with a variety of options. Decor is very comfortable. Highly recommend!
First class impeccable food and service!
As always, our dinner experience was outstanding!!!
Awesome authentic Italian food, great service, highly recommend!
I might recommend La Famiglia. It is very much an old-style Italian restaurant with tablecloths and waiters dressed in formal black attire. The food was good, well prepared and tasty but not exciting. Of all the things we ate, the pasta was the weakest link. When we asked for a wine list, the waiter brought over the 25 lb. book and plopped it in front of my husband. A bit much! So, good food but there are a great many restaurants in Philadelphia with great food.
My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We ordered the clams, gnocchi, filet mignon, and branzino. Everything was delicious.
We enjoyed the Nostagia menu. Great prices. Great food! It was my daughters 31st birthday celebrated in song both English and Italian. Gaetano is great!
I come to La Famiglia Ristorante because I truly enjoy the service. The servers go well beyond what their jobs entail. They remember details and greet everyone with a smile and genuinely care about your experience. The owner is a bit pompous and only talks to select individuals. I continue to return because the food is good, they have gluten free and the servers are all so nice. I take a different group of people every time I go to treat them to the wonderful experience of La Famiglia Ristorante. Many of my friends have never been and leave there vowing to return. In the summer they have a rollback menu ( Nostalgia Menu ). I like it because I am able to visit more often and bring folks to have their first experience. It is always a win win. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will always leave happy.
Fabulous. The appetizer, grilled peach compresse and the entree, escollope of veal, were exquisite. Without doubt, one of the finest of the few fine dining restaurants left in Philadelphia.
This was my first visit to La Famiglia. It was recommended by a friend for lunch, and we had a lovely time. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and came to the table quickly. We chose from the restaurant’s Nostalgia Menu, which was priced at the rates charged by the family when they opened in 1976. Phenomenal value for the money. I’ll definitely be back.
