La Famiglia Ristorante
Had dinner with a classmate from high school that I haven't seen in 44 years. The food, service and ambiance was fantastic. I will definitely go back.
I love old school Italian. They just know how to show you a great time. Great food, great and well trained staff and great food make this an awesome spot for dinner.
We usually like to eat at the bar but every once in a while it’s nice to sit at a table with space around you and be able to relax and chat in a beautiful environment.
After two generations (I hear the third is in the kitchen now) the family owned La Famiglia knows how to do it.
I hope old school, full service restaurants like this live on forever. I hope I’m encouraging some out there to go and enjoy a relaxing fantastic evening at La Famiglia.
My husband and I did an overnight in Philadelphia and dined at La Famiglia Ristorante. The service, ambience and food were all excellent, we give this establishment a well deserved 5 star rating! Thank you! We will return!!
This is truly a a hidden gem! Such an elegant place. Service is outstanding and such a fantastic menu. Would highly recommend for a delightful quiet meal.
I have eaten at La Famigilia on several occasions. The food is always superb and the weight staff is very attentive.
As always service and food were excellent
This restaurant has an atmosphere of civility and culinary excellence, placing it among the very few “class” establishments in the city.
Very wonderful ambiance, matched by the quality of the food and service
Old school Italian place down in Penns Landing. I was easily able to get an online reservation a week prior for a Saturday night in the city with an original party of 8. I called the night before to change the party to 11 and there was no problem, the gentleman on the phone was very cordial. Our party was seated immediately to a nice big table in the quieter upstairs. Staff were very polite, attentive, and knowledgable of the menu. A good selection of appetizers and entrees. The dinner service itself did run a little long, we were there for nearly 3 hours (but I do understand we had a larger party). Food items were pretty good, not the best I have ever had but still quite good. We were there for a birthday for my brother and they were great about having a dessert with a candle so we could all celebrate together. I would definitely come back to La Famiglia but I would still like to try other Italian places in the city for a greater comparison.
Always a great place for special occasions and low noise level enhances
My experience at La Famiglia has always been excellent; food, service and their ability to accommodate certain needs or desires. It is always a wonderful experience all around!!
Truly the best Italian restaurant in Philadelphia. Food and service was outstanding. Felt like we were back in Italy. We will return for another good meal.
Always consistently delicious food! The atmosphere and staff are always outstanding!
Dining in La Famiglia is a consistent pleasure. The attention paid to guests is exceptional. The quality of the food is high and the list of fine wines vast.
The server did not come back to fill our water for over 45 minutes and the wait for our food was an hour. This would not have been an issue if the food was seasoned better and more thoroughly cooked. A medium lamb chop was raw as well.
Very disappointing compared to the many times I’ve been there before. The veal was tough. The desserts were small in portion. We were charged for something we had no understanding about having to do with our appetizer. Overall I cannot recommend LaFamiglia anymore. For the price, service and food should have been much much better .
I am an infrequent visitor to Philadelphia but when I do i try to stop by La Famiglia where we first ate in 1974. We have never been disappointed - quite the opposite.
We lingered over three courses after visiting the Flower show. The menu pasta dished and the specials were outstanding.
We were going to the Met arrived in town a little late. I called to say we were running late and the hostess could not have been more pleasant. When we arrived we told our waiter we only had about 50 minutes. He took great care of us. Our pasta was the best I have had in Philadelphia. Highly recommend La Famiglia for a quiet dinner for two or a group or a business event.
Fine dining as it used to be 60 years ago, complete with an elegant room, linen table cloths, candles and waiters in tuxes. The food is good, but uninspired. You don’t go here for cutting edge cuisine. You go here to step back in time.
Salt crusted whole fish filleted tableside. Pure perfection. Dessert cart and wine list....you have to see them to get the full impact.
Amazing food!! Great place and wonderful desserts.. we loved it!
Fabulous food, It was one of my guests birthday, The wait staff couldn't have been nicer and the sang Happy Birthday in Italian. The filet was of the best I have ever had, drinks were great as was the asparagus. The staff was very good and friendly. Quaint atmosphere.
We had a wonderful experience from our arrival to our departure. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It’s a great place to get dressed up for and enjoy the ambience.
Lovely night!! Loved our bartender, Katherine! We had a wonderful birhtday celebration! Thank you!!
Outstanding service. Food was excellent. It got louder as the night went on.
Extraordinary dinning experience each and every time”
We love it
Several decades after opening, the restaurant has kept the best of old school fine Italian dining and remained relevant with an updated menu that still pays homage to its roots. If you haven’t been in awhile, go back for a visit.
LaFamiglia should be a synonym for quality and service. Every time I have dined there, each dish has been perfectly prepared and presented. The wine list can not be matched. And the service, puts the dining experience to the highest. If you haven’t been, and are considering going for the first time, listen to me...GO!
Waiter not so good, tried to pull a fast one and gave us a different cheap bottle of wine for the same price as the one we ordered.
Another great Valentine’s dinner at one of Philly’s best.. Thank you again!
Excellent food and phenominal customer service. Definitely going back!!
Very good service and delicious food. Price of food is not cheap but it costs.
Everything was excellent, including the food, service, and atmosphere. My wife and I ate there for Valentine's Day dinner. We both had the arugula salad and the branzino. Both were superb. The service was attentive and fast. This was our first visit, but we plan to return.
1st. time dining at this location. It also came highly recommended. Very relaxed atmosphere and truly a wonderful dining experience. No rush at all from server to order. He let us enjoy our cocktails and then moved on to apps. My wife had the Salmon and I had the Halibut, both excellent choices as noted on the menu. Our party was for 6 people, so the downside is the bar area is limited to seating so my recommendation is order your drinks tableside. I would also recommend to be dropped off to dine. Parking is limited. We will be making it a point to return in the near future
The eggplant dish was simply wonderful!
The Napoleon cake was outstanding.
The veal chop was somewhat different than many I've had, which is not a fault but just an observation. Sections of it were a bit chewy, but overall a well prepared chop.
Service and ambience were excellent.
One of the best old fashioneds I've had. Up to the brim, just the right amount of ice, and, especially, the right balance of sweetness and liquor.
Little prices for wine 30 dollar bottle
It was great! My boyfriend got one of the beef specials, which was veal stuffed with spinach and cheese and it was so delicious. Very good service.
Nice place good ambiance, service dragged out a bit dinner here will take 2 hours min. price was reasonable food was underwhelming. staff incredibly nice all way around. No reason to go back
