I didn’t think you could find real Italian food in California- this place was legit! The entire staff was friendly, gracious and attentive. Portions were huge and food excellent. Short ribs with saffron risotto and veal dish were amazing and we had leftovers to enjoy the next day. Bread came out hot with a nice olive oil tomato dip. Ok wine selection. Cant beat the cute courtyard that got you off the busy streets and into a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect evening and hidden gem in la jolla!

worst customer service ever.

Ludo was on top of it. He was our server and we went with his recommendations on food and wine--couldn't have been better. The ambience was very soothing and despite it being a cold night, the wind is blocked by the buildings. There are so many things on the menu I would recommend going with what the server suggests--it's the first time I've been to a restaurant and not read every line on a menu. Everything we saw seemed like it would be great. If you're looking for a quaint and authenticate Italian place, this is where to go

This place is amazing! Great food and awesome staff. My favorite Italian ristorante.

It started out great, our wine and apps came to the table quickly. Our entrees took much longer and seemed to have been warmed up in a microwave. The steak was over cooked and the tortellini was not the best. But overall, it was acceptable.

We love this restaurant. The food and the ambiance is fantastic. Restaurant owner Alfio and his team make you feel welcome and valued from the moment you walk in! Other restaurants could take a lesson from them.

Outdoor dining in the courtyard along with the energy among its customers and staff make it a enjoyable evening.

Best service, food was excellent and the ambience was perfect.

Very good food and value. Server forgot to tell us there were specials, so we missed out on those options. He also forgot to put in our appetizer order. But I'm not going to boycott the place due to some minor errors. It's a cozy, quaint restaurant, and we will come back for another tasty, reasonably-priced meal.

It was awesome. Service was great, menu had a ton of good choices. I don’t know what kinda bread they give you but it was damn good. Plus the sauce was incredible. Not too expensive, offers outdoor dining, and tastes great. Will go again!

Outdoor dining is available at this time. I went with my husband and 4-year-old daughter and ordered the Margherita pizza and Choppino. They were both delicious! The starter bread and dipping sauce is yummy! We will be back 😁 The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Noise being one of the ratings I will note that there WAS a nearby table being annoying listening to videos and talking on their cell phones. It boggles my mind that people are so low class. Food was delicious, service was great, decor is very minimalist but maybe a bit too simple for such a high-end restaurant. I would absolutely go again, and recommend it as well!

We had doubts eating out, during this pandemic. When we came to La Dolce Vita Ristorante, the host was very welcoming. The outdoor dining area was pretty busy, but all the tables were spread apart. Part of the experience of dining out is great service by the staff. The staff was excellent! and made our special occasion extra special!

La Dolce Vita set up a wonderful experience for my date and myself. The personal attention to seating and overall friendliness of the establishment really lended to the authentic ambiance of the restaurant. The wine was wonderful and the food was delicious. We both really enjoyed our dinner out at La Dolce Vita.

What a fabulous place!! Go there now!! The owner is a prince! The food is really good. And they are open!! Totally safe, taking all the precautions!! Can’t wait to go back.

Excellent Italian of the sort I love - angel hair pasta with tomatoes and garlic, fresh fish - at a price that is not La Jolla high. Large portions, so come hungry

Everything is perfect from the service to the food. I love the outdoor dining. Good wine list. A must do in La Jolla.

Our dinner at Dolce Vita was an memorable experience. J -our waiter delivered outstanding service, the food was exquisite. Even though we sat outside, the heating was perfect. I will recommend La Dolce Vita to anyone looking for an outstanding dining affair

This restaurant has some of the best pasta in San Diego but you should make sure you order the "Polpette" meatball appetizer. Their tiramisu was incredible. They have lots of outdoor seating so I always felt very safe.

It was almost just as cute outside! They had heaters so the weather was not an issue! The food was delicious, highly recommend the bruschetta and the bread and oil they bring out before your meal is amazing- I could have bought bottles of it! Very friendly staff and wonderfully attentive. Food came out fast, so if you’re looking to make a night out of it, just note that. Otherwise, wonderful experience and great food!
