La Dolce Vita of Belmar Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is excellent. Our reservations were honored exactly on time. Service was good and our waiter was very attentive. We has a caesar salad which was big enough for two.We also had the shrimp scampi over risotto which was very good with 6 large shrimp. The veal parm was such a large portion I took half of it home. I asked them to subsitute on my pasta oil.garlic and anchovies instead of marinara sauce which was no problem with only a slight upcharge. We didn't have desert but we did did have expresso and cappachino which finished off a delicious meal. Can't wait to go back.
My wife and I were not pleased having to wait over30 minutes for a table with a reservation. The food was good as usual, but the noise level was terrible. Trying to talk to one another we had to repeat our comments because people were so loud. Would return during the week not on Saturday night.
We had a party of eight and we made a reservation. We were seated promptly. The waiter was very friendly and got all the orders correct. The food was definitely the star of the evening. Everyone of us really enjoyed our meals. Everything was fresh, the combination of flavors were amazing and the portion sizes were perfect. We all agreed we will definitely be back.
This is a pretty good restaurant and has always been one of my local favorites. This time was not as good and hopefully I just caught them on a bad night. They stuck us in the corner in the front patio room and we felt like an afterthought. There were a ton of fruit flies (fruit fly traps in every corner). When we arrived that room was just being set up to be used, so we were one of the first tables in there. 1 hour later, the room was filled, and everyone else had their dinners. We had our salad already and had been waiting. Our meals then came cold. They obviously forgot about us in the corner. My steak was excellent and so was my daughters scallops. My Wife's Crab Cake meal was just too cold to judge. She did not want to send it back, I wish I would have. Anyway.... I will give this place another try. I think it was a bad night. I debated not to write this review, but decided I should let them know.
Service was right on for a Saturday night. Appetizers and entrees arrived on-time. Restaurant was crowded, but that did not impact service at all. Food for prepared perfectly and portions were generous. Only issue was noise in the indoor awning covered area that made it difficult to converse with friends at dinner.
The restaurant was located on Ocean Avenue which is beachfront and that was plenty of sidewalk tables. The menu was extensive The food was delicious The restaurant was very very crowded which is a good sign Overall we really loved it The bread basket in dipping oil’s were out of this world
Excellent service. Food always good here. Unfortunately my mashed potatoes wee very cold on an otherwise great dish. No,big deal. Wine list is varied and affordable. We had an 8:30 reservation on Open Table and were seated by 8:31. There were a ton of people waiting. We were very impressed! And we got our preferred seating area to boot.
First I must say almost walked out had a reservation for 7pm. Got there place was packed. That's ok it happens. But hostess kept insisting that I had 730 reservation. Which from the email we both had was 7pm
If she would have let it go there wouldn't have been an issue at all. Went to find a spot at the bar. Finally got that. Was getting ready to leave. When the two bartenders changed the whole night around with their great. Attitudes They apologized. For the conditions. They got crushed unexpectedly
We ended up staying and eating at the bar because of their professionalism. And great attitudes. Wouldn't even think of coming back but now I will give this place another chance , meal and drinks were good
Praise to Alex and. Don.
Have been going to La Dolce for a while. On this particular night, I think they overbooked. Our waiter was great, as is typical of this place, but definitely stretched thin. They jammed a few extra tables into the main dining room, which was not good for anyone. As usual, the food was great and came out in a timely fashion. We will continue to go here. It is a favorite.
Non attentive server, forgot to ring out appetizer, cancelled it as I already was eating my main course, still pushed it on me. Main course: Chilean sea bass - very bland , underseasoned, horribly plated, overpriced!!!
Would only go back fir drinks as it is right by the ocean
Our server, Danny, was very friendly, attentive and quick to respond to our questions and requests. He is definitely an asset to La Dolce Vita.
Unfortunately the weather that night was heavy rain, very dreary & chilly. We were rained on as we ate our dinner in the glass enclosed outdoor room. Hopefully the defects can be repaired properly so no more leaks drip and dampen future diners !
We love the food there. The stuffed artichoke and they have the best linguine and clams. Service was completely off last night. Once we got our food no one checked on us for over ten minutes. Had to flag down a bus boy twice for seasoning. Then he mentioned it the second time to a waiter who then shrugged and didn't get it for us. Another five minutes we got up and got it ourselves. Waiter still didn't come by. That was unfortunate. Other than that good food and wine prices. Also they really cram you in
The food is excellent although reservations on a Summer Friday or Saturday night don't seem to mean anything. You routinely wait 30-45 minutes for your table even with a reservation. I don't know what they are doing wrong, either the kitchen is really slow, people are squatters, or they are squeezing in too many walk-ins/foot traffic. Or all three combined for the perfect storm. I realize it's a popular restaurant and it's high season, but they could improve their reservation system. We continue to go back even with these problems because the food is some of the best Italian at the Jersey Shore. Love it even more when the season ends!
