La Dolce Vita of Belmar
The story of La Dolce Vita began five decades ago in a small town in the hills of Sicily. It is from here that co-owner Giuseppe Salpietro brings authentic cuisine, traditions and customs, which come from centuries of good living. La Dolce Vita believes in bringing this passion for Dolce Vita, translates to mean the sweet life, into every dish that leaves our kitchen. It is our goal to make every customer feel like part of our very own family. We at La Dolce Vita believe in family and invite you and your family in to our Restaurant to experience a variety of fantastic tastes to please every palate.
The outdoor tables were closed due to an earlier rain, so we were seated on the enclosed patio. Never again. The noise level was so high that it was physically painful. Eventually, I saw others begin to be seated outside, and I was able to prevail upon our server to allow us to move outdoors where we had a much more relaxing experience.
Was looking forward to but very disappointed by our first time visit. I would not suggest going there on a summer weekend night. Way too many people for the staff working with the result that we waited a very long time for drinks and dinner, which showed up cold and over cooked. Sorry to say we won’t be back anytime soon.
Easy to get a reservation on a Saturday evening in-season. Landed a great outside table. Tables are a little close together, but a minor issue. Food is good - and was enjoyed by our party of four.
We always enjoy a great meal here.
Had a reservation for 7:45 on a Thursday night. Our waiter was very short with us and we were competely rushed. He wouldn't take our appetizer order until we knew what we wanted for our main course because they were "very busy". He never came to our table ONCE. We never were asked for a refill on our drinks, never asked how our food was or if we needed anything. (Food runners brought out the food). We had to call him over to receive or check. Every time we spoke which was only twice, it felt like we were annoying him. However, the food was pretty darn good. We'll be back, but ask for a different easier if seated with him.
Great linguini and clam sauce. Loved the meatball appetizer. Great selection of wines.
Great food, choppy service and very loud inside.
Wonderful oceanfront Italian restaurant. Great pastas and seafood! We'll return.
Really fast great service. Chicken Parmesan was good - marinara is good.
The Red Snapper Special was absolutely delicious! Nice presentations. The chocolate cake desert the next table had looked amazing. I was so filled from my dinner I did not have any room to try it, but I will be back!
Overall this restaurant was a positive experience. It was nice to be across from the beach, the staff was pleasant and the food was great. I had read other reviews that warned of the noise level and I would say that is one of the downsides. I think it has to do with the wall to wall glass and sound bouncing off so much. Me and my husband sat on the patio and had the stuffed meatball which was very good. We also both had penne vodka- his with shrimp, mine with chicken and gluten free. I am very particular about my vodka sauce and was pleasantly surprised at the overall flavor. They are a little high in the price for a simple pasta dish but I think it's the waterfront they are charging for. I would def go back, I enjoyed being able to walk the boardwalk at night with my hubby after dinner. I would also suggest they open up the bathrooms to include more than one being they are seating a huge amt of people. The parking in this area is also terrible bc it's right on Ocean Ave and super busy. Give an extra 20min for parking.
Had an excellent meal from start to end. Seated promptly, great outdoor ocean front seating. Server had water and tasty bread within minutes. Drink order was placed quickly along with appetizers as we went over the menu. Food was served in an appropriate time, food was delicious. Nice variety of good entrees to choose from. Dessert was delicious. We’ll be back.
Best linguini and clams ever!!!!! Their burrata is excellent too. We also love the olive oil and bread. Just little too cramped wish they would remove three tables from the main dining room so you could feel less stuffed.
We went to La Dolce Vita to celebrate a friends birthday- our table was available immediately when we showed up (30 minutes mind you) . Everyone had 3 courses meals and one was better than the next. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching. I would recommend La Dolce to anyone willing to listen
We’ve been there many times, service great, food great! (Although the portions are pretty big!). Only thing to consider is that the tables are pretty close together and it gets pretty noisy.
Marinara on veal... yuk. The veal was good and tender though. Just wish they used a sweeter sauce. Antipasto was good as well. Vodka rigatoni was very good.
I have eaten here several times. Most of the time the food was very good. One big negative is the noise level if you eat inside in the main dining area. It is very hard to have a conversation without straining to hear and you have to speak at a high volume. They do have a patio area which is quite and of course you can sit outside. That would have been our better option but we decided to be inside with a/c.
Delicious Italian food and great service.
We sat outside and it was wonderful. Our waiter was very good and very busy. The drinks were very good. The portion sizes were large and was good to very good. The artichoke appetizer was fair but the sales were huge and very good. The veal was tender but the Francese sauce a bit on the watery side. veal part was very good. Typical red sauce was very good. Chicken dishes were also very good. Desserts were good. Overall a very nice evening.
Excellent food and service, a little pricey, but worth it. We sat in the front where it was loud, but alright.
Food was good. Felt rushed. They wanted our table for next party.
Great food and live bar scene. Meatball and calamari some of the best we tasted.
Elvira the host always present with a special eye to detail and needs of the customer
We continue to return and always impress our friends with a delightful meal
Love sitting outside anywhere !
The drinks are great and the food is always excellent.
Sometimes a little rushed. In the peak season the service is a little high stress but still attentive.
Great appetizers and pasta. Fish always fresh.
Service and food was great
Very crowded, noisy and food was under cooked.
Kitchen could not keep up with the amount of customers
Food took over 55 minutes. Waiter did not apologize or check on us.
While the food was good and the server tried, it was definitely over priced especially compared with some better restaurants in the area. It was absolutely understaffed and the server was literally running and had too many tables to deal with and unable to give the proper attention to each table. Another staff member tried to take our plates while we were still obviously eating. The noise level was the worst I have ever dined in and was unacceptable. Seems like the owners are greedy and looking to just pack in the people with too many tables in a small area and then push you out to continue pushing others through. A poor dining experience and will not recommend
It was a beautiful beach day, so this place was hopping for dinner! The food & atmosphere was great, but due to how busy the place was, it becomes difficult to give great service. It was not a deterrent-we’ll be back!
First time there and will be back!
The food, service and drinks were spot on!
Prices were reasonable.
Although it's a pretty place, it was SO NOISY it was hard to enjoy our very average, but expensive meal. We won't be back.
It was very loud. They have large parties mixed in with small parties outside and there are poor acoustics. So our table of 2 could not even talk because the table of 6 next to us were overbearing. The food was very bland, and needed seasoning. However, our waiter was OUTSTANDING!
Alex was outstanding. Great atmosphere. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and it was great.
I was there for lunch and surprised that there weren't ore people there but it was one of the hottest days of the summer and many probably went to the ocean to cool off. Food was very good and service was excellent.
The food and ambiance was quaint. The only complain I have is the wait time and setting, there was a 30 minute wait even with a reservation. Also no seats at the bar or room to stand and wait for your table. They need to revise their wait list procedure and protocols.
Good food, very crowded, service not as strong as the food.
If you want good Italian food, this is the place to go. You just have to get over the loud atmosphere and other diners sitting on your lap. It is always too crowded with large parties. Food-great. never disappoints
Food was really good.
Very noisy. Could not talk to each other. Food was just okay.
Our waiter was an older Italian guy who could barely understand our order. He didn’t tell us the specials of the day, like the waiter at the best table did. He checked on us once throughout sinner. We needed korenbread and water and had to ask a bus boy to get it for us.
Took friends who are real foodies and got raves about the place.
