La Dolce Vita of Belmar
The story of La Dolce Vita began five decades ago in a small town in the hills of Sicily. It is from here that co-owner Giuseppe Salpietro brings authentic cuisine, traditions and customs, which come from centuries of good living. La Dolce Vita believes in bringing this passion for Dolce Vita, translates to mean the sweet life, into every dish that leaves our kitchen. It is our goal to make every customer feel like part of our very own family. We at La Dolce Vita believe in family and invite you and your family in to our Restaurant to experience a variety of fantastic tastes to please every palate.
It was very good, except we sat in the front and it was very noisy in the room where we were.
Wonderful food, lovely staff
Consistently good! Quieter this time. 😃
Always good. Best chicken parmigiana.
Food was average at best. Maybe a different cook , 8 months prior we went their and the food was good.
The risotto was out of this world on the chilean sea bass with encrusted pistachios. A bit noisy for my taste but overall a great experience celebrating my wife's birthday.
Seated at an umbrella table looking at the belmar Beach and boardwalk on a very pleasant day. Perfect
Authentic with a modern vibe. Penne vodka was good.
Good food but way too loud to have ANY conversation when they STUPIDLY put a huge party (25) in with tables of 2 and 4.
Spoiled entire experience. 👎🏻
We sat in the smaller room. Service wasn’t great. I asked for red sangria , they gave me white, my husband wanted a specific white wine , they ran out and he wanted a specific beer, they ran out. I had the shrimp scampi over risotto , not much flavor and risotto was undercooked. My husband had pistachio encrusted Chilean Seabass over risotto , he said it was ok but I enjoyed it. Prices weren’t bad and nice size portions.
Food was very good, stuffed salmon was cooked perfectly as was filet mignon and the pork chop.
A fine enough restaurant on Ocean Avenue in Belmar.
It was a busy night and we were seated on the veranda, with its loud ambient noise level - not unexpected given the number of diners. We began with aperitif handcrafted cocktails, which were hit or miss in our group, mostly the latter. Appetizers were unremarkable as were our dinners, but on the whole, both were enjoyable and well prepared. The wait staff was attentive, though hurried, no surprise in these times. The real mar to the evening was the constant presence of fruit flies that plagued our table, not quite a swarm, but bothersome and off-putting all the same.
A beautiful fall day by the ocean with best friends and great food doesn't get any better...except if lunch brings you back to experience dinner. Can't wait to return!!!
We took a friend from Kansas City for lunch. She loved the view of the Ocean from our table. The food was fantastic along with the service. We loved the Salmon, Ravioli with meatballs & Penne Vodka.
Definitely will come again!
We four long time friends and colleagues are retired! We get together monthly for lunch to catch up on news of families and life in general. Louis, our server, was wonderful - attentive without being intrusive. We had a table inside the sunroom with the window opened for COVID-19 safety. Our meals were delivered promptly and were delicious! It was my 2nd time there this month! 😊
Restaurant was very busy & energetic! Food was very good & came in a timely manner.
Service was good
Fun place to go
The menu was different and obviously put together by a creative chef.
Nice touch of cloth tablecloths even in tent. Service was prompt and courteous;food was very good and hefty proportions. Wish they allowed 2 hrs instead of 1 1/2 for time at your table.
Wasn’t anything special
Our first time in all the decades we lived in the area. The food was delicious and a beautiful location along the beach side. We were very happy with our experience! We’ll be back for sure!
Great food, great service & the view is pretty nice too !
I absolutely love dolce vita and gave had many great meals there this summer.
My meal Friday night was mediocre and not the usual - hoping it was just an odd night - this is one of my favorite restaurantss and I usually get excellent meals
Nice ocean front dining. They have outdoor as well as in door seating. There have a number of different items on the menus than most Italian restaurants. There is a full bar also. Great location food and service.
We had the mussels and the Fettuccine Dolce Vita. And they were fantastic!
The server was very nice and very attentive. The table was a bit small for a party of 4 and we were practically knocking things over but the food was good..not 5 stars but good but again....lovely servers!
chicken parm was burnt, chicken saltimbocca had no taste.
second time i was disappointed with food......
Very loud . The hostess did not know what she was doing . Had pages and pages of reservation … Crazy… food great …
Always great food. The best at the shore
Food was fantastic - get the shrimp scampi over risotto! John the waiter provided spectacular service throughout the nice.
Large portions. Prefer small portions with better quality
DO NOT GO HERE! Grossly understaffed, extremely long wait for drinks and food. Food was bland and underwhelming. Very loud. Too many far better places to go to along the Jersey shore.
I decided to book La Dolce Vita to celebrate my anniversary as we have been here once before two years ago and enjoyed it. I had made reservations for 6 and was sat right away. The table was pretty small and within 6 inches of two others so there was no privacy, we were all extremely squished. We ordered a few drinks and placed an order for an appetizer which came fairly quick and tasted great. Before our appetizer came out we placed our order for our entrees. While we were enjoying our appetizer another couple sat down next to us. When they placed their order for their appetizer I heard our server tell them that the kitchen was short staff & things are a little behind and offered to get them more bread but never informed us directly or offered more bread to us. We waited and waited, our waters were empty and was never asked if we wanted a refill. The table that sat down 30 minutes after we placed our order got their food before us. We then asked our server how much longer it would be for our dinner to be ready, she went to ask the kitchen and came back and said ten more minutes. This is after we already waited an hour for our pasta dish & steak disk to come out. The couple next to us got pork chops & pasta as well. It just doesn’t make sense as to why it was taking SO long when we ordered way before they did. We ended up getting our order to go as we did not want to wait any longer & the food wasn’t even worth the wait when we got home to eat it. I totally get restaurants are understaffed especially during this time but why pack your restaurant when you can’t accommodate the people who you take in? I do have to say our server was hustling hard, it seemed like she had all the tables in our section and it was huge. She was trying her best, just wish she communicated more when it came to the wait time for food.
A very nice Italian restaurant in a quieter part of Belmar...please be understanding as they are understaffed at the moment!
Food was excellent; the fried calamari was huge and delicious!
Very crowded, food came out really slow. Not the waiters fault!!
Nice option where options are limited. Friendly staff but on a busy day it was chaotic. We waited forever for our food while 4-tops that came in after us were served, ate and left. Make sure you are not in a hurry.
Food excellent nose level high
Anastasia was awesome
Mediocre food, Slow service
Wonderful experience! Will return!
