Jose was the best!
A+++ experience for my Aunt’s birthday last night. I’m so glad I discovered this place. The food can best be described like a Guy Fieri saying it’s “out of bounds, outstanding”. I love the chicken parmigiana, it’s like the perfect meal! Perfectly cooked chicken topped with the most delicious sauce and cheese, and a side of broccolini. It’s probably the best chicken parmigiana I’ve ever had.
But everything on the menu here has been excellent . So far I’ve had the Sinatra Steak, the Bolognese, the veal parmigiana, the Penne pasta, and a couple fish dishes too.
The wait staff is great too. The waiters were highly attentive and kept bringing us their wonderful bread!
Can’t wait to go back and explore their menu further. It’s “Out of bounds”!!!
This was our second time at La Dolce Vita. The service was absolutely awful. The wine was full of sediments, the waiter served our food without giving us cutlery, didn’t offer Parmesan cheese for the pasta. When he asked if we were done with our main course, he then brought us the bill. I guess they weren’t keen on selling desserts or coffee. After complaining about the experience, they offered to reduce the amount on the bill. Wouldn’t recommend it.
The best food in LA and I’ve been to every fine restaurant in town! I typically get the Sinatra steak or the Branzino. Delicious! I love the atmosphere too.
Came here for our anniversary and were not disappointed! Complete with complimentary champagne and dessert. The staff were very attentive, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect. Looking forward to going back again some time soon!
My family and I have been coming for Christmas Eve dinner for four years now and we were very upset to see that there was a fixed menu. We had been talking about what we were going to have for dinner pretty much the second we left last year. We also felt like we were being rushed. The restaurant and staff are very nice and great to us. We have enjoyed coming here and creating a new family tradition, but not with a fixed menu and feeling rushed.
We ordered at 8:10pm. Food arrived at 9:20pm. We repeatedly asked politely and got “it will be here in 5 minutes”. They never offered a free dessert or to take the cocktails off the bill. Completely oblivious. We saw friends there who had the same experience. Food was cold too.
After years of coming here, I’m done.
4 measly asparagus for a side order.
Pasta was nothing special.
Cool ambiance but far from worth the price.
Always a superb experience. Food, service and ambiance. There is a reason it has been around forever.....never a bad experience.
Great place, romantic excellent service, excellent food
classic Italian fare with good service and food. Appetizer salad was excellent as were the main courses Penne, Veal chop and rack of lamb
Old school upscale American-Italian restaurant that is actually great! The cocktails are right: tasty, not too strong but not watered down. The appetizers are amazing: you have to order the broiled clams. They are amazing. I would recommend any type of meat and pasta. The veal parm was delicious. The wine list is also outstanding: Pinot noir we ordered was perfect. Dessert: they comp’ed a piece of tiramisu for our 5th anniversary: classic handmade Italian recipe. Go there for any special occasion; it’s pricey but 100% worth it.
Really great experience. A blend of retro/nostalgia updated just enough to be 21st century standard. Fascinating history, friendly staff, small and intimate, very interesting clientele - great food well prepared and served. A natural pair with the Golden Fleece Las Vegas. Highly recommended. We would go out of our way to revisit.
Our maître d’, Alan, was an expert at both whiskey and the history of this restaurant. The staff did a wonderful job at timing our courses. Every course had good texture and flavor. The cannoli was out of this world! The wine selection was very good. The bartender was also excellent at handcrafted cocktails
A+ food and service! I love everything on their menu.
Our Anniversary dinner was one of our favorite dinners ever! La Dolce Vita is the high water mark. It was perfect in every way. The ambiance, the service and food were the best! I'll never forget it!
Thanks to the staff!
Dave and Gwendolyn
It was an alright place a mixed green salad @16$ pasta was super al dente and the flames were like rubber.
La Dolce Vita doesn't need my rave review.....it is one of the best places to eat in Los Angeles and especially if you love Italian food. The atmosphere is traditional Italian with red leather boots and used brick on the walls.....very romantic.
The service is well above what we have experienced in many of the restaurants in the area. It is not uncommon these days to experience poor service even in the finest establishments.
You may also have a celebrity sighting which is always fun.
Another positive aspect of dining at La Dolce Vita is that the host or hostess is always friendly and they make you feel very welcome. From our first experience, we were treated like long time patrons. It is important to note that we drive quite a distance to dine at La Dolce Vita and it is well worth it!
Iconic restaurant probably best know as one of Frank Sinatra's favorite places to eat. Great food and superb craft cocktails. Old school red leather seats.
Outstanding restaurant for wine, food and service. The food was authentic Italian and delicious. And the staff was amazing. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and they treated us well. in conclusion, I highly recommend the restaurant.
Always love dining here. Staff is absolutely amazing and the food is terrific! Great ambiance and friendly and accommodating. If only the walls could talk.
Service & food was great it can get a little pricey but you probably know that going in.
They handled an unfortunate circumstance impeccably.
Amazing service and food highly recommend !
We come here occasionally and have had great service. Not this time. Our waiter seemed unhappy we didn't drink alcohol and had an attitude. We waited and waited for the check. It was embarrassing as we brought a visiting relative. Not sure we will be back.
Ps the valet was extremely warm and friendly.
Wonderful birthday dinner. Our server was fantastic!
My boyfriend and I came to LA for a trip that I won at work. I researched several different romantic restaurants and we decided upon this one and we were not disappointed. I made a reservation for 8, we arrived about 10 mins before 8 and were greeted by name promptly. The restaurant was smaller than I expected but was not a bad thing at all. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. I had the spinach ravioli and it was amazing. The portion was perfect and was cooked perfectly. They had an Italian sausage special and that’s what my boyfriend decided to have and he agreed that his was just as amazing. I would definitely come back if we ever get to visit LA again from Knoxville Tennessee.
One of my favorite meals out I've had in a while! I went with a couple of friends for a special occasion - the ambiance, service, and food were all AMAZING.
Food was great! Servers were very helpful and attentive. Overall excellent experience.
La Dolce Vita is my favorite restaurant. The ambience is low-key but elegant, the dishes are absolutely delicious, and the service is old school and wonderful. Considering the high quality dining experience, I think the prices are very reasonable. Allen, the maitre d’, is most accommodating and makes us feel welcomed. Living in the San Diego area prevents us from making weekly visits, but we dine there whenever possible.
It was exactly as advertised old world italian food. Great wine. Only issue there is no valet service till seven and have find parking in a lot locks away.
Amazing experience at one of Sinatra’s old haunts!
Excellent service and food was delicious. Several celebrity sightings. Throwback to an era.
The BEST FOOD in Los Angeles! Best Caesar salad I’m my opinion, and I’m not someone that gets excited about salads, but every time I’ve ever ordered the Caesar here I literally clean the plate, it’s that good. The dressing amazing , just the right amount of fresh cheese, the croutons are homemade and delicious, you’ve got to try it.
The Sinatra Steak is outstanding as well. My wife had the Spinach Ravioli and she loved it. Service is A+. I come for the food! Ambiance is relaxing, and the booths are very comfortable.
Everything was a B minus. Caprese salad was soggy—tomatoes were not as tasty as they should have been in July! Veal Marsala was chewy and over-liquored. Bread roll had no taste. Host greeted us with a sales pitch for a very expensive wine. Huh? Not a hello, welcome, etc.
Our server Mary was exceptional as well as all of her support team. The food was as we expected, exceptional.
Was very excited to come here. The restaurant could have been cozy and romantic however there was a really loud mouth seated across from us who ruined our intentions of a cozy quiet romantic dinner. The shrimp scampi appetizer has a tasty sauce however the shrimp was over cooked a rubbery. The mozzarella prosciutto salad was the best dish of the night. The rice balls were fair. Nothing special. I ordered the spinach ravioli which was dry and burned with minimal sauce pasted on. My date reports that his spaghetti and meatballs were mediocre. Wine tasted watery.
Great food. Great service
Excellent service from the moment we walked in. I recommend the lasagna.
This is still our favorite restaurant in LA! Superb food, unbelievable service, amazing ambiance. Absolutely, our go to place!
