La Diosa was wonderful and is such a cool place! The food was great. The only reason I took stars off was because the AC was out when we went. They got it back on and running within the time of us being there. It was just so hot (Lubbock summer). They just didn’t mention it until we brought it up, and they could have thrown something in. Otherwise, it was fantastic.
First, our server was super nice and made good recommendations. Service in the restaurant, however, seemed disorganized, and they weren’t staffed for the kind of service they seem to want to provide. I noticed that the hostess running the door and waitlist was also bussing tables, pouring water and coffee. Both hosting and bussing are big enough jobs that a restaurant that size wants dedicated staff for both things. Communication also seemed like an issue — called to change our reservation this afternoon, but that change wasn’t communicated which resulted in a long wait before we were seated (and a comped glass of wine for my trouble which was nice). But it looked like we weren’t the only ones at the door running into problems. Once seated, we were served food without napkins and silverware. Had to ask two different staff for those things.
It’s a beautiful restaurant, though, and the band was great. Like I said, our server was really nice. Food was pretty good/great, with the pork belly tacos and the goat cheese and prosciutto honey toasts being the highlights. This restaurant would be outstanding if they could dial in their floor game.
Farron was the person helping us Friday night as they were short staffed. She was extremely helpful and provided us with outstanding service. My husband and I had a fun, wonderful date night... thanks to the wonderful live music, the food and wine, and the service.
A piece of heaven in Lubbock. I only wish they served other beverages other than wine so we could come here more often. Their food is outstanding and the decor is my favorite of any place in Lubbock.
La Diosa Cellars is one of our favorite restaurants when vacationing in Lubbock, Texas. It is still the cute, funky place that we remembered. We loved the Bella Roja wine and bought a bottle to bring home. Our food choices were the pork tenderloin and the Mediterranean Salad –excellent!
Food portions are too small but delicious. I recommend this place.
Fabulous dinner and atmosphere. Wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion!
Allyson was amazing!
Service was incredibly slow and poor. We had to flag our server down every time we needed everything and he never asked if we needed or wanted anything else. The music was great, we love The City Limits! Overall the restaurant service sucks though, aside from when you first walk in - the greater was great!
Authenticity and a rare gem in Lubbock and West Texas. Highly recommendable if you are visiting the High Plains of Texas.
Our favorite place to go for a special evening. Always appreciate the opportunity to taste some different foods that you can’t get elsewhere in Lubbock. Everything was perfect on our visit
The food was great. My waitress was training someone and they were both very friendly! My friend from out of town LOVED the food and the restaurant and said I made a great choice bringing her there!
Great food, amazing service, astonishingly ambiance! Will return often!!!
Nice ambiance. Interesting food combinations. Would recommend if your looking for something different.
Tables were a bit to close to each other. Made it hard to sit and not be crunched to table. Music was a touch loud. Drinks and food were very good, however one persons food did not arrive with everyone else’s. Waitress had to go back and find it. Took a little wait.
Fantastic food in a lovely atmosphere
This was my first time at La Diosa. A colleague and I had taken a candidate there for dinner. Since it was MY first time and didn't really look into it, I didn't know that it wasn't a "dinner" kind of place. It worked out though. The waiter worked with us and helped us to fill our tummies. All in all we had good service and the food was delicious.
One of our favorite places for a date night! We come often. Will be back!
Our night out was delightful! The music was fabulous, the food was fabulous, and the entire experience was slightly less than perfect only by the slowness of some orders from the kitchen...our server was precious but the kitchen must have just been swamped. All in all, it was a lovely crowd and we all wanted food from the Cellars...drinks were perfect!!! looking forward to a repeat performance.
La Diosa was the perfect place for girls night! Drinks, live music, & wonderful cheese/fruit board
My wife and I recently moved to Lubbock and, at the recommendation of several friends, we decided to take my father in law to La Diosa during his first trip to West Texas. It did not disappoint! The tapas ranged from very good to great (I highly recommend the meatball-based dish or the shrimp and cheese stuffed jalapeños) and the service was some of the best ever. We are definitely going again!
I get excited about going to Lubbock because it means I get to go to La Diosa Cellars. Their food is fantastic and the atmosphere is eclectic, but homey. I always have great service and the house branded wine is fantastic.
For our Sunday brunch of 4 people: 2 entrees came at one time ... 1 entree came 5 minutes later ... last entree did not show before the other 3 entrees had already been eaten. Manager explained that this is a tapas restaurant with 15 years of local following & that kind of food delivery delay should be expected because of their known service style. We ordered from the brunch menu which only has full sized (non tapas) plates, meant to be a meal for the person ordering. One person at our table did not eat at all, as group was ready to leave by time the entree was ready. We will not return.
I'd recommend for a friend, just to have the experience .... but it's not a restaurant, I'd come back to after experiencing it once. The food was good but not for the value. For two people, we spent over $100 for 4 tapas. Also, be prepared to pay a cover at the door $5 per person for music (although you're eating and spending money there). I've been to PLENTY of restaurants and that was the first time I've ever heard of having to pay a cover for a mediocre band. The environment was great. They lacked in service, resembled a European style, very very slow. Our waiter checked on us twice in over two hours and at that we flagged him down to get our check.
All and all, there are better places in Lubbock to celebrate a birthday.
This is easily our favorite spot in town. Great food, great music, and great atmosphere!
La Diosa has a very intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The cuisine is unique and excellent. The service was perfect. It is a great place to spend time in conversation and fellowship.
LaDiosa is a place for relaxation and refinement. The menu is unique and upscale while the wine list features both local and West Coast favorites.
Don’t miss the Angelina small plate. Out of this world.
The atmosphere was delightful. We really enjoyed the selection of tapas and would definitely return.
Lovely! The food was good the atmosphere was nice, service was good.
Great for lunch or tapas. Nice selection of Texas and Calif wines. Ultra friendly which seems the norm in Lubbock. I hope to return often.
We loved the experience we had and our waiter was fantastic and very attentive. Will definitely come back!!
Group of ladies celebrating ones birthday. Everything, food and service, were outstanding. We all had a great evening.
We loved eating at La Diosa. The only issue we encountered was a lack of wheelchair ramps and space in the restaurant to accommodate room for a wheelchair to move through. That was disappointing that they were not accommodating in that sense.
Food was great but our party of 4 had food come out separately not all together.
Great service, our waitress help us decide what we wanted and so nice and helpful
This restaurant is a great place for a date or a nice outing with friends. Had a cozy atmosphere, and live music on the weekends. Our service really want good, but I think it was just the one server. That being said, our meal was really delicious and we still had a great time!
Exceptional! The food was superb, the ambiance was as well. We will be back!
Great food and atmosphere. Small awkward seating, but nice. Surprising good desserts. Service was a little slow.
Food was good...prices were pretty reasonable...the atmosphere is awesome....service was fast. I would recommend this restaurant for speacial occasions.
We just moved to Lubbock and found La Diosa Cellars to be a great place for not only their wine selection but their food, too! They have a very nice list of wine available with their winery across the street. And, the food menu was very inviting. We had the caprese salad and a pizza while there along with a couple glasses of wine. Both of our platters were delicious and our wine was perfectly matched. We’ll be back again to try other wines as well as their menu.
