Delicious food, nice variety without the menu overwhelming the patron, and the service was excellent and knowledgeable. We will return.
One of our favorite place in Baltimore. Great dining experience for everyone. And it passes our Spanish approval!
Everything was outstanding! Can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful experience all the way around. Great food, consistently good service, innovative menu that changes frequently.
Excellent service -
The menu could be clearer -
The croquetas, patatas bravas and calamares were outstanding
portions very generous
Would like to see more main dishes/choices: bacalao a la vizcaina, bacalao al pil pil
Would enjoy a less stark environment
Authentic menu, knowledgeable staff, and really helpful sommelier!
As usual, la Cuchara does not disappoint. The food is fresh and the flavors are amazing. Definitely an A+.
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and front of the house staff was very friendly. The food was phenomenal, as well as cocktail and wine selection. My only issue all evening was our server. While she was friendly she wasn’t very helpful when picking menu items and didn’t seem all that interested in being there. That being said all other staff members were fabulous. It is hard when you are at an expensive dinner and the primary server is sub-par, luckily it didn’t hurt our experience too much! Would definitely recommend.
I would definitely recommend the small plates and appetizers to share and then maybe split an entree. I was so full but really satisfied after my meal. The mussels were to die for and the calamari is the BEST I'VE EVER HAD (has a kick to it)! Great place to celebrate my anniversary.
Love Sunday dinners at La Cuchara. Introduced some friends to the restaurant and we all agreed we have to come back. The bread is fantastic as were the crispy oysters and the charcuterie. Had a fabulous bottle of rioja to complement the lamb shoulder. (Thank you for the great recommendation) And leave some room for the ice cream and sorbet, even if it means sharing.
Interesting venue, but it's a very specific offering on the menu. You'll want to check it out before going there.
Had really high hopes for La Cuchara having read about it and absolutely loving the food in the Basque region on trip there a couple of years ago. First off a pet peeve of mine is often finding small plates restaurants have tiny tables for two. Really makes it hard to share food, especially with a bottle of wine on the table and when the kitchen sends out the food when its ready (as many small plates restaurants are want to do). Puts the burden on the server to really manage it well and it our case not so much. Maybe we just selected the wrong items, but with the exception the scallops nothing much else was memorable. The pork belly was inedible but to be fair they took it off the bill. Didn't eat much of the lamb shoulder either. The highlight of the evening was the wine - had a terrific Rioja that was recommended by the sommelier who spent a ton of time with me and who knew a lot about Spanish wines (and Bordeaux). Was ok but with all the great restaurants there are around now would not go back to give it a second chance for a long time.
One of the best tapas (Basque style) that I've been to in the US. Our services was amazing, especially Alex our waitress and Red, the host. We'll be back for sure!!!
We have enjoyed La Cuchara many times, and last Sunday met some friends from Annapolis who had never been before. They were completely wowed, from the décor & wonderful use of such a cool space when they entered, to the happy hour specials, the tiny plates we shared at the bar, just the whole experience. They are no strangers to great seafood having grown up on the water, and working in catering -- well, they were stunned at the quality of the oysters, the halibut and the scallops -- all declared the best they had ever had -- no kidding!
Great birthday dinner! The churro at the end was 😍😍. The food runner had the craziest deep voice and it might’ve been the favorite part of my meal. 5stars gang
The food is absolutely delicious. My husband and I really enjoyed it!
We had a fantastic dinner, my niece has just spent time in Spain and the food took her back. Service was excellent and everything taste great—even the mussel hatters at the table loved the dish!
And the tab was less than expected, can't wait to return.
Excellent dinner, wonderful experience! From the beginning until we walked out the door, it was a pleasurable experience.
We might have gotten a bit lost in the menu should we have dined without our friends who lived in Spain for two years. We overall really enjoyed our dinner minus couple of little things.
Table service was not very friendly and we felt rushed. Good was great. Saving grace was a gentleman named Red who perhaps was a manager or the Sommelier. He recommmended a wonderful cava and was very hospitable.
Outstanding food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
Mike aka Red the sommelier was very attentive and informative! The overall food and service was delicious and impressive. Can not wait to go back!
Very enjoyable new find for us. Eclectic menu of small tastings of high quality food offerings. Enjoyed the flights of wine/bubbles. Will return.
The staff was outstanding, and the food was great. It's a bit pricey, but acceptable for special occasions. Maybe better values are to be had at happy hour. We'll try that next time. All in all, a very nice place.
Thank you for another wonderful meal!
Our experience was top notch. The food was excellent as was the wine. Our servers were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable.
Red wine was served cold. Several of the tapas dishes seemed to have been pre-prepared and were a bit dried out.
Excellent Pinxtos: Bacalao fritters and Lamb meatballs
The entre was delicious: we had lamb cooked in a water bath and it was tender and perfectly seasoned!
We had a wonderful Bachelorette party at La Cuchara this weekend. The staff was extremely accommodating and the food and wine was excellent! They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and special. This is a fabulous place for any event!
First of all our waitress made sure that our dinner was just what we wanted with the most attentive service that I have experienced. I noticed that she treated everyone special. Her name was Alex I’m pretty sure. She helped me pick out our drinks and food and made my birthday happy. Also the baked Alaska will be my favorite dessert for a long time.
I must say I loved the style the way the food and drinks were brought to our table. First class. We have dined with you 5 or 6 times.
Delicious meal in a beautiful restaurant. They were very thoughtful and after our dinner they actually called me to say that heard it was my birthday and realized that the server didn’t know, so there wasn’t a dessert or anything sent. They offered me a free drink for the next time I dine with them. Above and beyond in service. Thank you to the La Cuchara management team!
We started at the bar for cocktails and pixtos. La Cuchara specializes in wonderful hams and cheeses and they make all of their own breads which are amazing. We ended up with the calamari which, though an appetizer, is plenty for a meal (especially after all we had at the bar). Delicious unless you don’t like spicy. The only disappointment was the tres leches dessert which had no flavor at all. The sorbet, however, was flavorful. Service was excellent and unobtrusive. Will be back again.
Excellent service! Delicious food! Love it here! You must go!
It was a great experience for a first date. I will definitely go back.
This is quite simply one of the best restaurants in the Baltimore/Washington are. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the pricing is very reasonable. I always look forward to coming to La Cuchara after visiting the Baltimore Craft Show. This is my third trip to Las Cuchara, and each visit has been a delight.
Fantastic service and amazing food. Truly unique in Baltimore.
Lovely place. Great menu
Love this restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine list one of the most interesting in town. There are numerous staff walking around to make sure everything is perfect. We particularly love that one is able to have a conversation over dinner without shouting.
