I'm a regular now and will definitely recommend friends to come. In fact that evening, I brought 2 of my friends who have never been there before. They will definitely be coming back , if they can get sitter to watch their kid! We had the scallop, blue tuna, halibut and steak. All were well seasoned. Thumbs up!

My wife ordered the tuna with roasted vegetables... was brought to the table ice cold. We mentioned it to our waitress and she took the meal put it under a heat lamp for 10 minutes and had them put the tuna back on the grill.... at that point it’s not even worth mentioning again. Just won’t be going back.

La Cuchara is a favorite. Sunday nights, the restaurant has half price wine night, on bottles of $100 or more. That's a great way to taste some terrific wine we would not buy otherwise, absent a special occasion. Some evenings we go for a cocktail and a few small plates; other times for a full entree. Either way, we've never been disappointed. The food is always reliably excellent.

I must give a shout-out to Kevin, who I believe is the GM. He's an important part of a great service team at the restaurant. He's also turned me into a sherry drinker. (This is not your parent's cream sherry.....)

Overall, it was a nice dining spot. There was plenty of available seating, and though I had a reservation, we were seated between two other couples in the back of the restaurant. It would have been nicer to be seated with a bit more space between us and other diners. Next time, I would sit at the bar and sample more of the pintxos and cocktails. I recommend the Baltimore's Finest.

La Cuchara can be noisy and our table was near the open kitchen but food and service were superb and menu is different from other restaurants, which adds interest.

The food was amazing!! My husband and I felt the waitress and the atmosphere were stuffy. All throughout the meal we felt like we were being pushed to order more food. We had already ordered an appetizer and the waitress began to push for us to order another. One is enough for two people! Also, I had three flutes of sparkling wine in front of me and she came over telling me that most people order red wine with their dinner. The restaurant overall felt stuck-up and not comfortable. But as I said in the beginning, the food was amazing!

I’ve been to La Cuchara twice. Same server both times. She’s incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the food and wine, but not intrusive at all. Her recommendations were spot on. The food is excellent. Highly recommend.

The bar staff was very friendly and informative with the traditional Sidra from Spain. Food is good. Wait staff a little too formal and micro-managing with placing orders. Should flow a lot more naturally. If food takes time, it takes time. Just focus on making solid recommendations and let the guests relax/enjoy.

We've been to La Cuchara numerous times for dinner service, over the last 2 years. This is the first time I did brunch, and that was the Easter Prefix menu. I'm not sure what went wrong in this trip but majority of the food did NOT stand up to the La Cuchara standards that we're used to. However, we love La Cuchara and hope to give it another chance in the future.

My husband and I have been to La Cuchara many times. We come back again and again because it is simply amazing. This review is for our most recent meal. We started with some pinxtos - don’t be afraid by the bacalao croquettes. The frog legs were so buttery and tasty. My blue fin tuna was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and my husband had incredibly tender lamb. The Meyer lemon semifreddo was amazing - I’d go back just for that.

The wine list is also thoughtfully curated and complements the meals perfectly.

This was the first time that I went for dinner (the last was for HH about a year ago). Two of my friends had been before and recommended that we go for a birthday. The service was very good, we all enjoyed our entrees (the seared tuna and brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly). The homemade bread was great as well. I had some of the manchego cheese, almonds and blistered peppers. There were all good for starters. The sparkling flight I sampled was great and complimented the seared tuna dish well. I would recommend to others and will certainly be back again and would like to perhaps sit outside to enjoy the warmer weather. Hopefully very soon!

Delicious charcuterie and cheese platter. Exceedingly disappointed in the pastas Brava and the braised lamb. Both were overcooked and our waitress made no effort to help us out or make it right. Will not return

The food was excellent, however the service was not so great. We had great service at the beginning and then we were not checked on after we received our meals and some people were left without drinks for a little while. We came in on a Monday night and it was a business meal. We also arrived early for happy hour and there was no one in the restaurant, but they still made us sit at the bar. Even after I mentioned we had a reservation.

This restaurant is wonderful especially on Sunday evenings when their wonderful wine list is on sale for 50% of (on bottles over $100). That means that along with all of the fabulous small plates, appetizers and mains, you can also sample their extensive collection of wines without breaking the bank. Fab!

Prepared. I liked it better than some high end, overly rich sauced foods at some other well known places. It wasn’t as authentic basque as I expected but I’m assuming they have to please the local palate.
I would go there again happily.

We have been at La Cuchara twice and have never been disappointed! The food is fantastic as well as the ambiance and service. It is a wonderful mix of Spanish and Basque food choices with wonderful tapas, cheeses, meal choices. The place is huge, but it feels quite intimate. The service is very prompt and attentive and they do their best to keep things smooth and the table clear. The server was able to take her time to address our questions, concerns and to offer suggestions on food choices, wine and beer.

Went to dinner with a couple of friends last weekend and the whole dining experience was amazing. Having never been to the area, I was a little worried that I had gotten lost on the way to the restaurant as it's location can best be described as atypical. Parking was very easy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious. I feel that this would be a great place for big groups because tables are spaced out enough that patrons wouldn't be disturbing the next table too much. Now, into dinner. Our server made great recommendations with food and wine. She seemed to always know when to check back up on us and when to just leave us be. Another staff assisting always made sure our glasses were topped off and our plates cleared out. We quite literary never had to look for somebody and ask for anything. All of our needs were anticipated and that is a testament to FANTASTIC service. The food was divine! It was difficult not filling up on the bread, it was so good. We loved the charcuterie and the entrees were sumptuous. I ordered the octopus and the brightness to that dish is something extraordinary. Definitely a must have! The lamb shoulder and rockfish received rave reviews from my dinner companions that evening. The brussel sprouts and mushrooms were amazing as well. Dessert was really delicious. I unfortunately had most of my flourless chocolate cake stolen from me because it was that good. I had to console myself with the equally delicious strawberry (mint?) sorbet. Long story short, I understand why La Cuchara is so highly rated. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the menu out some other time.

Fabulous food, cocktails, and wine. Sommelier Michael is terrific. He’ll steer you right! The wine he recommended (a rioja) actually matched well with a broad range of flavors: a mushroom appetizer, papas bravas, oysters, and the grilled octopus entree.

An all-around great experience! We asked to be seated in a quiet area, and the staff was very accommodating. The service was excellent -- attentive but not intrusive, and they didn't hurry us. And the food! Wow. The small plates were all good and interesting, but the entrees were amazing! Rockfish, lamb, calamari, and pork chop were all perfectly cooked, had great accompaniments (especially the Brussels sprouts!) -- just beautifully presented and delicious. We didn't really have room for dessert, but split the hazelnut tart -- wonderful. Buttery and rich without being too sweet. Not an inexpensive evening, but worth every penny for food of this quality.
