There was a table for 8 was all ready for us when we arrived. Service was good and food was great!
The second time we’ve been back on annual vacation to Paso Robles, we always enjoy the fabulous service, wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and excellent cocktails!
Only negative is that they serve "air bread" with nice olive oil/balsemic vinegar. With entrees/small plates they serve wonderful artisan bread- what gives.? the food is very innovative. Small plates are spaced evenly so one can enjoy each "course"
Birthday celebration. Small plates and pizza were excellent. Drinks were also good. Only negative would be they didn’t offer anything for our birthday celebration even though it was on our reservation and we mentioned it when we arrived.
We love this restaurant. It is usually the 1st restaurant we visit when we go to Paso. However, the drinks come after the food is served. This has happened on multiple occasions. Not good if the restaurant wants to increase the alcohol revenu.
Twice now I've made a reservation at this restaurant and have not been able to eat there, by no fault of my own. I don't live in the area (in fact, I live 4 hours away) so it's no small feat to get there. The first time, I made a reservation but when I got there the doors were locked. I was two minutes early for my reservation. There were people inside, but apparently they had already closed the kitchen and no one would look our way, so we couldn't get their attention. The second time, I made a reservation and when I arrived the restaurant was closed. Like, closed for the day. It was a Monday. They're closed on Mondays. Why was I able to make a reservation at 6:30 on a Monday if they're closed?
It's really unfortunate because the first time I went there, I had a great meal. I had a brand new baby and it was one of my first times out to dinner. The food was awesome, which is why I tried two more times to dine there...
I don't know if it's mismanagement or a bug in the OpenTable system, or what, but it sucked to have a reservation and pull up to a closed restaurant... TWICE.
great food and service. a bit noisy on Friday nights but nevertheless a great enjoyment
Good vibe; tall tables a bit tightly placed making it difficult for servers and for privacy; overall good find
Great cocktails, wine selection and food is superb!
One of our favorite restaurants in Paso. Love the Moqueca! Great cocktails...
I have celiac and have a dairy allergy. I called in advance to confirm they could accommodate my allergies. When I arrived, I was basically told I could eat protein without any sauces and the chef was not willing to modify any of the existing menu items to accommodate my allergies. Had the GM been honest that the chef does not care to accommodate I would have made reservations elsewhere. I understand my allergies are difficult for restaurants, and I do not expect all to be able to serve me, I just wish they would have been honest when I called before dining.
Everything at dinner was just ok; the paella was soupy - more like jambalaya. The empanadas were tasty but soggy...the staff was attentive and efficient...wish there was no tv sports in the dining room. Why not play a vintage film with text instead of sound? Much classier...
The seafood stew was great! The place was so noisy though, we could barely have a conversation!
Excellent meal and service. The air conditioning was a problem; too cold and then too hot. Manager did his best. Quite loud, conversation difficult for 4 people. Probably better on any night other than Saturday.
Fish dish was excellent but paella was disappointing. Cocktails were very good, decent wine selection with fair pricing. Felt very rushed, food came out just couple minutes after cocktails and we hadn't even selected a wine yet.
We always enjoy our experience at La Cosecha. The food, presentation, service and drinks are always top notch. We especially love the seasonal dishes as it makes for a true culinary adventure.
The food and cocktails were great! It was a bit on the noisy side if you are wanting to have quiet conversation. The service was wonderful, except it did take way too long to get our cocktails-- we were half way through our appetizers by the time they arrive (we did get water). Both the waiter and manager apologized for the delay, so I was surprised at least a couple of them were not made complementary (we had a party of 4). Overall a good place-- I would go back.
Delightful. Hostess called to confirm reservations. Warmly greeted. Table ready. Buzz of busy restaurant. Great specials in addition to menu. Waiter attentive. Owners stopped by. Highly recommend.
My sister and I were traveling from out of town, and a friend who lives in the area suggested this place. Best meal we have had, the scallop appetizer was amazing. Our server was so sweet and excellent, worth every dollar!!!!
The party of four dinner out was a hit. My fish of the day was excellent and my wife gave me a taste of her pork "chop". (The menu probably named it differently). It was the best pork I've ever tasted, and I'm not using a figure of speech here. My mojito (drink) was very good too. We're locals and will be back.
It’s was a good overall experience though the reservation wasn’t necessary as we still had to wait for them to set up a table.
Fun atmosphere with a very nice wine list. Small plates are very flavorful and great for sharing
service was knowledgeable and efficient
Very loud. Poor , slow service
Exceptional as always!
Love the seafood stew!
No Grilled Calamari this time, which we had pre-sold to our visiting friend and was a bit of a disappointment as it is the best in the universe!
There were 4 of us and we arrived after having spent the day on a wine tour. The ability to have small dishes was great. Two in our party had a delicious strawberry caipirinha. We ate calamari, shrimp, paella, salad, and coconut flan. Everything was very good.
We were visiting Paso Robles for the weekend and reviews of La Cosecha were good. Food was okay, service was very much sub-par. Despite clearly telling our waiter that we weren’t in a rush and wanted our shared plates brought out one at a time he didn’t seem to understand. We ended up cancelling the third one and the manager acted like he was doing us a favor by taking it off the bill. Our experience at Artisan the previous evening was 180 degrees opposite - go there instead!!
The food and craft cocktails were amazing. The ambiance was great and the noise level is high but festive. Our waitress, however, was awful. Nice but kept forgetting things and would come back, be reminded and STILL never bring the requested, food, drinks, items. Very disappointing for the cost.
Made a reservation for 5 on a Saturday night. Table was ready and we were seated as soon as we checked in. Great local wine, very fresh and hot food. Will definitely be going back!
The cocktails were unique , fun and delicious. The service was outstanding. We had 3 appetizers and each had an entree. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious! Can't remember the last time I had such a great experience at a restaurant! I will definitely be back!
We had appetizers of scallops, calamari, and octopus plus two different pizzas and they were all fantastic! Can’t wait to go back.
Selection and portions were great, pricing on par for them as well. The dishes we selected were all delicious and would most likely return. Service was a bit slower and it was interesting how the larger parties were given so much more attention.
My wife's and my first visit. The service was excellent. The food was good...not great, but good. I had the Paella, a dish of which I am a big fan. This restaurant does it somewhat different in a risotto style. It was not what I expected but it was still good. My wife had the scallops and those were great.
My bottom line is always, Would I go back? For La Cosecha the answer is absolutely. Our experience was limited, but this is it: We weren't that hungry and we had spent the day tasting wine; OT requests with res were honored; service was very pleasant; we shared a Margarita pizza that was excellent and the paella of the day that was delicious. $15 for the pizza and $25 for the paella was very reasonable. The paella was unusual in my experience: it was soupy with bite-size pieces of shrimp and sausage, delicious.
Services staff is great. If you have any allergy issues do not expect their chef to accommodate. Chef seems to have an ego and no understanding or care for the need to amend a dish due to allergies.
Penicillin cocktail awesome, as were scallop starter, Brazilian seafood stew and branzini. Server’s suggestions for wine pairings were spot on. Server provided great suggestions for area wine tasting which we followed the next day. Glad we went back and tried the restaurant again, after a disappointing experience 3 mo. before in which it was slammed on a Sat night and unable to honor our reservation.
My wife had a wonderful beet salad and I had a wonderful tortilla soup. Both dishes were delicious. We then shared their special paella which we would recommend greatly, but it was rich and we were correct in sharing. For dessert, my wife had the flour-less chocolate torte and I had flan. Both were great.
Food came out at different times. My food was lukewarm and returned to kitchen where it was put in the microwave to get heated up. Expensive for what we got.
All around phenomenal!
The grilled octopus over mash is a must try! The crab meat avocado toast was also very satisfying. The fish was grilled to perfection. Pizza is thin, which reminded me of NYC, but of course the dough texture will not be the same, but was very good.
