A Casual, Friendly and Inviting Restaurant
Loud and crowded. Definitely not a restaurant to go to for a special event. Tried two dishes: A super salty pizza that was hard to eat (and I love salt). The other was a very forgettable and uninspired pork dish. Zero interest in returning.
La Cosecha never disappoints us!! They consistently meet our dining expectations!!
Place was great as usual. It was extra nice to have the three piece band playing during brunch. My only complaint, and it is ever so tiny and more of a preference on my end, the loaded Bloody Mary was not spicy enough for my taste so the second round I ordered it extra spicy and it was perfect. Again, more preference than anything. Thanks for the great afternoon.
AMAZING food. I found the place totally by luck while passing by Paso Robles on the way to Santa Barbara during dinner time. The place was packed so I was happy I made an OpenTable reservation 15 minutes earlier. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food was so flavorful and spicy, we absolutely loved everything - from our appetizers (mussels) and main courses (the special seafood cioppino-like dish) to desserts (the creme brulee was super yummy!) We were so impressed by the Spanish food here that we're already planning a Paso Robles trip just so that we can go back to this restaurant. It is not often that each and every dish you eat at a restaurant is perfect. This restaurant definitely offers that. Highly recommended.
We have dined at this ambient place several times but our Valentine's Day dinner was a big disappointment! The appetizer tasted like it had just been microwaved and the Brazilian Seafood soup broth was very watery.
Creative food, well prepared and presented. Room was way more than energetic, it was downright loud, so loud it was difficult to carry on conversations. Service was attentive, bordering on "Hurry-up, we need this table again tonight, order everything now, please." At the end of the evening, it turned out quite expensive for what we ordered.
Spectacularly good food! We had the lamb shank and the branzino (Mediterranean sea bass?). The lamb was falling-off-the-bone tender with a tasty sauce. The fish was cooked to a gently delicate texture and served over a bed of properly prepared (NOT gummy) risotto. The wine steward was especially helpful with suggestions and serving us tastes of four different wines to help us make our selections. This restaurant deserved SIX stars!
Shareable plates ... great atmosphere
Cute find in downtown Paso Robles. A nice change from the normal bbq & taco food scene
Our meals were fabulous. My husband and I had one of the specials that night -a Brazilian seafood stew. Our friends were equally pleased with their dishes and the bread was particularly
very fresh and delicious. We shared a chocolate dessert that was heavenly. Our waitperson was attentive with a warm personality. The location is also fabulous as it is on the city square and was walking distance from our where we were staying. This is a real plus after a day of wine tasting.
Amazing food, friendly staff, a little loud as it’s close quarters. But over all a great experience!
Our first time at La Cosecha and we will certainly return. Excellent food, great selection of local and European wines that complement the food well, and the service was excellent.
Great food and service!!!!
Great food, very well run, very attentive staff. We will be back.
Fabulous! Very outstanding food with great pairings of spices and flavors. Was there 3 times in 2 weeks. Must ask for the mousteca Brazilian seafood chowder. To die for.....
The place was a great venue, very cozy and had a hip but warm atmosphere. We ordered the beet salad, a pizza, and a paella.
First, the beet salad with goat cheese and honeyed walnuts was delicious. The pizza was, according to my pizza-loving husband- one of the best he's had. We ordered the Pizza Meditarrano with lamb meatballs and goat cheese.
Unfortunately, the paella was what caused the one star to be knocked off.
It sounded great on theory: jumbo prawns and Portuguese linguica sausage. The sausage was great, and the jumbo prawns were grilled to absolute perfection...but the rice? Was horrible. I would say there was more onion in it than there was rice. Each bite of the rice was 70% onion 30% rice. It really ruined the texture and flavor for us.
We were just visiting Paso Robles for the weekend, so we don't know if this restaurant "specializes" in Paella. Having visited Spain and eaten paella there...we can honestly say that their paella fell far below the bar. We so wish it could have been better.
We had an outstanding meal on NYE 2018. We enjoyed the paella, which is done in a risotto style that was excellent. Loved the poached cod done with a carrot ginger sauce. The sauce was delicate and flavorful and was a perfect compliment to the fish. Great wine list with many wines from Bodegas winery in PR. Great meal!
NYE was amazing. Food was beyond belief! Everything was top shelf. Best of all wait staff was attentive, host was remarkably attentive, helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back
We had reservations for New Years Eve, It was a fun, energetic place to go on that night. But the food, well what a mixed bag of very good to very bad. Three of us had Martinis and they were well done except that one drink was noticeably smaller in volume. The other craft cocktail was just ok. The ceviche was excellant, very fresh with noticeable citrus flavors. The tortilla soup was very generous and good altho very rich. The empanadas were enjoyed very much. But now, the pizza! We ordered two margarita pizzas. They were terrible! The crust on both was limp and soggy. They were smeared with a strong tasting tomato sauce, probably tomato paste, and randomly scattered with rounds of mozzarella cheese. One of the pizzas had 2 slices that had no cheese at all! They were covered with cut up fresh basil. These were the worst examples of pizza we have ever had. We would hesitate returning to the restaurant.
Had my 28th birthday there and it did not disappoint. Amazing ceviche and great value on the local Paso wines.
Favorite spot for Sunday brunch! Exceptional live music, love the menu, best bloody mary I've ever had, and any craft cocktail you'd like. Fun vibe. This place rocks!
Dinner was well prepared and delicious. Awesome service. Great cocktails!
We love La Cosecha! This visit was a birthday lunch with girlfriends. We enjoy dinners, and also Sunday brunch. Fantastic food, the best servers, excellent craft cocktails and wine list, and such a classy yet comfy vibe. Love this spot. And love that we can reserve a table. Check it out!
Excellent except for the fact I ordered huevos hispaniolas and the waitperson delivered eggs Benedict. It was a friend’s birthday so I didn’t notify anyone of the mistake, and didn’t want to detract from the experience of dining with two solid friends who then would have had to wait for me to get a new plate...but I don’t eat ham, so I ate only two of the eggs.
Great food! Great ambiance! Great service! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food and wine selections! A bit loud as indicated in other reviews.
La Cosecha was lively and noisy on an early December Wednesday evening. The service initially felt rushed -- our appetizers arrived before our cocktails -- but it evened out as the meal progressed. We had two appetizers -- a green salad with a bright, fresh, light dressing and tuna tartare, which was delicious but overwhelmed by the slices of jalapeno pepper on top, and whose accompanying bread slices needed to be toasted, not just warmed. We shared the excellent shrimp and chorizo entree. Cocktails were good -- the seasonal caipirinha of strawberries and raspberries -- and the wine selection was too.
Great food and drinks! The stew is amazing, but we loved all our dishes. The short ribs and pork were delicious! Cocktails are also top notch. Def recommend for date night, night out, any occasion really :)
Great location overlooking the main square park. The menu has interesting pairings and choices. There are several reviews for gluten free, which the restaurant offers a GF menu guide, however this is not safe for celiac. The server was not well informed about options for GF and allergies which ended up with me getting pretty sick. Overall, cute place, food is beautiful, great location. Perfect if you don’t have allergies.
Good food but very slow service
Calamari very well done.
Very pleasant staff who took excellent care of our needs. Food was beautifully presented and delicious! Loved the overall menu choices.
Food and service were excellent . Noise level a bit loud. Very accommodating had to move to a more comfortable table because of my friend’s knee and they were great!
Yummy as always!! One of our favorites!!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. I am a local and I almost don't want it to get too popular. The food is always outstanding and service excellent. I dream about the pork chop! Oh, the barrata! We love to dine outside on warm summer nights and watch the people go by the park. Or even sitting at the bar and enjoy conversations with the great bartenders/mixologists. It can get a bit noisy, so save a quiet romantic night for somewhere else, but you can't go wrong otherwise with La Cosecha.
Great experience. Went back the next day for brunch.
Excellent food. Can’t believe I haven’t gone sooner
Everything was great but the special entree was a lil too salty
The girl from dark star winery suggested you then we saw her there!
This is our go to restaurant in Paso. Try the Brazilian fish stew (moqueca) with a glass of Tempranillo. The service is just as great as the food.
The tapas were delightfully interesting but everything was served tepid. Some things, like polenta, should be hot. The noise level was beyond loud. Our server was great. We liked the food tastes but I think the noise will keep us from choosing it again as a place to dine.
