The food and cocktails were great! It was a bit on the noisy side if you are wanting to have quiet conversation. The service was wonderful, except it did take way too long to get our cocktails-- we were half way through our appetizers by the time they arrive (we did get water). Both the waiter and manager apologized for the delay, so I was surprised at least a couple of them were not made complementary (we had a party of 4). Overall a good place-- I would go back.
Delightful. Hostess called to confirm reservations. Warmly greeted. Table ready. Buzz of busy restaurant. Great specials in addition to menu. Waiter attentive. Owners stopped by. Highly recommend.
My sister and I were traveling from out of town, and a friend who lives in the area suggested this place. Best meal we have had, the scallop appetizer was amazing. Our server was so sweet and excellent, worth every dollar!!!!
The party of four dinner out was a hit. My fish of the day was excellent and my wife gave me a taste of her pork "chop". (The menu probably named it differently). It was the best pork I've ever tasted, and I'm not using a figure of speech here. My mojito (drink) was very good too. We're locals and will be back.
It’s was a good overall experience though the reservation wasn’t necessary as we still had to wait for them to set up a table.
Fun atmosphere with a very nice wine list. Small plates are very flavorful and great for sharing
service was knowledgeable and efficient
Very loud. Poor , slow service
Exceptional as always!
Love the seafood stew!
No Grilled Calamari this time, which we had pre-sold to our visiting friend and was a bit of a disappointment as it is the best in the universe!
There were 4 of us and we arrived after having spent the day on a wine tour. The ability to have small dishes was great. Two in our party had a delicious strawberry caipirinha. We ate calamari, shrimp, paella, salad, and coconut flan. Everything was very good.
We were visiting Paso Robles for the weekend and reviews of La Cosecha were good. Food was okay, service was very much sub-par. Despite clearly telling our waiter that we weren’t in a rush and wanted our shared plates brought out one at a time he didn’t seem to understand. We ended up cancelling the third one and the manager acted like he was doing us a favor by taking it off the bill. Our experience at Artisan the previous evening was 180 degrees opposite - go there instead!!
The food and craft cocktails were amazing. The ambiance was great and the noise level is high but festive. Our waitress, however, was awful. Nice but kept forgetting things and would come back, be reminded and STILL never bring the requested, food, drinks, items. Very disappointing for the cost.
Made a reservation for 5 on a Saturday night. Table was ready and we were seated as soon as we checked in. Great local wine, very fresh and hot food. Will definitely be going back!
The cocktails were unique , fun and delicious. The service was outstanding. We had 3 appetizers and each had an entree. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious! Can't remember the last time I had such a great experience at a restaurant! I will definitely be back!
We had appetizers of scallops, calamari, and octopus plus two different pizzas and they were all fantastic! Can’t wait to go back.
Selection and portions were great, pricing on par for them as well. The dishes we selected were all delicious and would most likely return. Service was a bit slower and it was interesting how the larger parties were given so much more attention.
My wife's and my first visit. The service was excellent. The food was good...not great, but good. I had the Paella, a dish of which I am a big fan. This restaurant does it somewhat different in a risotto style. It was not what I expected but it was still good. My wife had the scallops and those were great.
My bottom line is always, Would I go back? For La Cosecha the answer is absolutely. Our experience was limited, but this is it: We weren't that hungry and we had spent the day tasting wine; OT requests with res were honored; service was very pleasant; we shared a Margarita pizza that was excellent and the paella of the day that was delicious. $15 for the pizza and $25 for the paella was very reasonable. The paella was unusual in my experience: it was soupy with bite-size pieces of shrimp and sausage, delicious.
Services staff is great. If you have any allergy issues do not expect their chef to accommodate. Chef seems to have an ego and no understanding or care for the need to amend a dish due to allergies.
Penicillin cocktail awesome, as were scallop starter, Brazilian seafood stew and branzini. Server’s suggestions for wine pairings were spot on. Server provided great suggestions for area wine tasting which we followed the next day. Glad we went back and tried the restaurant again, after a disappointing experience 3 mo. before in which it was slammed on a Sat night and unable to honor our reservation.
My wife had a wonderful beet salad and I had a wonderful tortilla soup. Both dishes were delicious. We then shared their special paella which we would recommend greatly, but it was rich and we were correct in sharing. For dessert, my wife had the flour-less chocolate torte and I had flan. Both were great.
Food came out at different times. My food was lukewarm and returned to kitchen where it was put in the microwave to get heated up. Expensive for what we got.
All around phenomenal!
The grilled octopus over mash is a must try! The crab meat avocado toast was also very satisfying. The fish was grilled to perfection. Pizza is thin, which reminded me of NYC, but of course the dough texture will not be the same, but was very good.
Although we enjoyed our meal, there was really nothing extraordinary about either the cooking, the service or the ambiance. A good option for a casual dinner, but it would be underwhelming for a special occasion.
We were really excited to try the restaurant and on top of a few things not being available that were on the menu, what we did order was meh. Service was great, but food was just ok.
Good food, a little cramped and noisy. We enjoyed it, will be back again.
Found my new go to place is Paso Robles. Super helpful server. Best wine I’ve ever had. Food to die for.
The noise level was way too loud to talk to anyone at our table of four. Our waiter was nice enough but not efficient. We waited close to a half hour for our drinks. I had the paella of the day. It was pretty good but more of a risotto than a paella. My son got buffalo ribs that were melt in your mouth yummy! Others got pizza that was okay. Overall food was a 8 out of 10. Noise and poor service brought down my overall rating.
I read about this restaurant in a wine magazine last time I traveled to Paso Robles. Since, I was able to go back to Paso Robles for the 2nd time, and hope to return more often; my husband and I made reservations for this restaurant. It is exactly what the wine magazine described: an explosion of flavors. Excellent, must try their signatures drink. I had a cucumber vodka after doing some wineries, which it was an excellent drink. I had 2, and I wanted to order more! We share some tapas, and share a delicious brazilian chopino (stew). I will be back!
This was a very nice restaurant with wide variety of selections on the menu.
Everything we tried was excellent and worth a return visit.
As always, the best. Great food and unique. Awesome service and right on time with our reservation
We enjoyed having dinner here. The service was wonderful. Food and drinks were amazing. Can’t wait to come back!!!
This is a little gem. Great unique cocktails. Service is very friendly. Delicious seafood.
Seated immediately , attended to quickly . Not rushed , ordered drink from the bar , given time to relax before ordering . After entrees served , service slacked off. We had food to take , didn’t ask about desert or check. 10 minutes later came back and asked . Limited desert menu , decided to skip .
Great menu; entrees large enough for sharing . Specials well described . Will definitely return .
Had a great dinner! Tasteful dishes , nice cocktails and good recommendations from our waiter
Great place to go have a drink after work but also with your significant other. Food is great and service is very attentive.
We dined with another couple, and were seated inside at a tall table opposite the bar. The atmosphere and decor are homey and inviting. I would definitely get rid of the TV at the bar, though. Really, no need for this at a dinner restaurant! If the bar was separate from the dining room, it might be okay. But the restaurant is noisy, so it is not needed. And this is not a sports bar! Obviously, a pet peeve of mine.
I had a nice glass of Spanish sparkling wine, my husband had a local beer, our friends had non-alcoholic mojitos. Everyone happy. We ordered appetizers: calamari (so so, bland and the sauces weren't great), the ceviche (great!), and the soup of the day, which was tortilla. I didn't try that, but our friend loved it.
Our entrees were scallops, green salad, and branzino (sea bass) over risotto. By far, the branzino dish was the winner--really nice fish, excellent creamy risotto with fresh asparagus and peas, not overly heavy. The scallops, however, were not fresh. I could smell them coming to the table. They were not bad, just not fresh. My husband's from the eastern seaboard and pretty picky about seafood. He was not happy with the scallops. His salad, while dressed, was also very bland.
Service was quick but a little pushy; trying to clear our plates numerous times while we clearly still had plenty of food to eat. We were there for about 1.5 hours on a Friday evening (6 pm reservations). Were continually rushed, not a good feeling. Especially with the cost ($200). Give us time to eat!!
Overall we had fun with our friends, but there are better places to dine in Paso. We just had never been there so decided to try it out.
Always have a wonderful dinner or just appetizers. Staff are friendly, professional, and know the menu. Owners are always asking how the meal is progressing. A fabulous restaurant to choose.
In 2 days I ate at La Cosecha 3 times, I lunch, 2 dinners; every dish I tasted was exceptional in taste, presentation and represented the chef’s love for food and reflected his creativity; I never had better octopus in my whole life.
