My only wish is that the bar stocked Deep Eddy’s ruby red vodka...
We went for my birthday, not only was the service incredibly slow but our waitress kept forgetting to put things in that we ordered. We spoke with the manager who must have mentioned something to her because she got very upset with us about it. The food was great but overpriced and couldn’t make up for the service issues.
Our dinner was terrific, as was the service and ambiance! Loved the guacamole with the candies pecans❣️❣️❣️
Could not have had a better time. Wonderful knowledgeable bartenders, a great hostess, delicious food, convenient parking, birthday desert. Definitely a place to try out! (More than once in our case for sure)
Makalah was her name? I think? She was awesome! Had the best time taking my friend in for her birthday! Thanks!
I hadn’t been to La Condesa in 4 or 5 yrs menu seemed to be different menu style but not bad different still delicious! Great food, drinks and service money well spent.
Found food to be nothing special. Considering all the fantastic mexican foos you can get in Austin in a much more authentic and fun ambience, we regretted coming here.
The food was delicious! Very fresh ingredients and inventive. At our table we had fish, chicken (mole) and beef (carne asada). All the dishes were prepared perfectly and were tasty. We will be back to try other menu items!
Waiter very quiet, difficult to understand. Food was mediocre. Not bad, by any means, but nothing special.
Food was delicious! The whole “food comes out as it’s prepared” (instead of all at the same time for the table) is a strange concept for a sit-down restaurant.. especially when most of their food is not tapas style small plates for sharinf
Excellent food and service and wish I could remember the server’s name as he was great, helpful in recommending a good blanco tequila so I could make my Ranchwater (tequila on rocks, Topo Chico -ideally but club soda would work- and fresh lime juice I mix at table) . All was perfect and look forward to coming back
Overpriced, portions are small, not impressed
A good Mexican restaurant in downtown Austin. Taste is good, prices are reasonable and the staff came across as accommodating.
Amazing Margaritas and perfect for people watching. A terrific Brunch send off from our long weekend in Austin. Will definitely be back.
Expensive Mexican food and not worth the money
Both me and my girlfriend had stomach aches after eating the food and generally did not like the many items we chose. We found the food to be cold and undercooked, truly a disappointment.
The food was very good, but expensive for the portion sizes. Get the guacamole- it’s fabulous.
Everything was amazing! The food is plated beautifully! I will be dreaming about the aguachiles! The cachete de res melts in your mouth and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and drinks.
Service was just okay. Food was overpriced for the serving size. Probably won’t eat there again.
Not as good as in past
Enjoyed dinner at La Condesa. A couple of things that could’ve made it a better experience, first the lighting was so dim it was difficult to read the menu. We had a great waiter but he described the plates as shareable which none in my party felt was true. The portions seemed designed for an individual diner. Drink’s were good as was dessert. We had the churros, flourless cake and flan.
Better for drinks and apps. I do recommend getting the guacamole and a margarita but skip dinner.
Unfortunately our recent visit wasn't quite as good as it has been in the past. As a small, shared plate restaurant, I'm never sure what we are expected to do when 1 tostada shows up for a table of four, or when three items are delivered for our table of four or we're given five tortillas with the carne asada. It's just weird and awkward. In addition, our Palomas were very unremarkable and watery.
On the upside, our server was fantastic and the guacamole and salsa tasting was delicious, as was the carne asada.
First time visit on our way to an event at ACL. The experience was very good if not great. This is not a Tex-Mex style restaurant, more authentic Mexican and geared for more "discerning tastes" (more expensive and hip). Food was great tasting, especially the Queso! The Dos Lunas queso makes a HUGE difference. Carne Asada was very tasty. The traditional Margarita was average to disappointing. Would certainly consider coming back if in the area.
Amazing food and service! We originally went for dinner, but ended up going to the bar are instead for Happy Hour. So glad we did. Bartender (Chase) was very attentive and ekpt an eye on us, ensuring we didn't need refills on anything (food and/or drinks). Would highly recommend for a quick get together/ahppy hour
Best Margarita I've had in a long time.
Appetizer did not come out as described by waitress.
Entrees were amazing
Excellent menu. Unique items. Great looking space and lots of fine tequilas
Great high end, fresh Mexican food. Excellent cocktails!
Food was overpriced and mediocre. Great service.
My wife & I made reservations and were seated promptly. The service was outstanding! We really enjoyed the food and service.
Every dish was wonderful. They sat us quickly and the house margarita was the best I’ve had in a while.
Ran out of main dishes we were going to order. Wait staff was lacking. Food and drinks were good quality, but since they ran out of food, we had only a couple of options to choose from. Should have a bigger menu if you are a tapas focused restaurant.
Overpriced for what the food/drinks actually were. Won’t be coming back
Food was excellent although not everything you offer is on the menu. I saw food pics on website menu and asked.
Great food, terrible service. We did not see our waiter once after taking our orders.
Food and service were very good. We went on Valentine's day - pretty hard up sell on their Valentine's Day specials some of which were likely very overpriced based on what our entree size and cost were. Tables and chairs need a face lift. Ceviche portions were tasty but over priced (expensive for size).
Charging for flour tortilla's is tacky - dinner for 4 with drinks/apps was $300. One would think flour tortillas could be provided at no extra cost when ordering a $30 entree.
The food was good and the ambiance is great. The corner where the restaurant is located is amazing for people watching now.
Margaritas are good, service is mediocre and the food is just gross. Second time eating there and this time shrimp was mushy and swampy. I live downtown and will not go back.
