We had three families for a group of 12 and the restaurant did great job with service. Menu was perfect for a family style dinner. Food was wonderful.
Awesome tequila selection!! VERY attentive & personable staff! Also love that they are very community & farm conscious.
Definitely recommend for anyone coming to Austin.
Creative, but not odd, Mexican food with complex flavors. Interesting and tasty cocktails. Great service
Excellent appetizers and main course as well as dessert. Server’s suggestions were perfect
Went for the drag show which was phenomenal and definitely outshined the food! They had a specific menu though so maybe it is better with their full menu.
Food and cocktails were very tasty !
I really enjoyed the cochinita Pibil, so tender and delicious
the food was outstanding! it is a bit pricey but it is delicious!
We enjoyed a family brunch at La Condesa. Staff were friendly and attentive, the quantity of food was just right, and the flavors were perfect.
Might be the best Mexican I've ever had. Fantastic authentic yet modern food. Great and friendly service. Great dining room. Highly recommended
Atmosphere is cool but the food was just average
Food and drinks were excellent but unfortunately I would not recommend based on the service. We were not forewarned that the kitchen would close at 9 pm and we had a 8 pm reservation. Therefore we were extremely rushed, bussers kept trying to take our food before we were finished and the waiter did not help us with describing dishes and/or portions. We were visiting Austin and not necessarily familiar with all the Mexican dishes so we needed help navigating the menu but our waiter was so rushed and unhelpful. Perhaps it's due to COVID and staffing issues, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt for that reason.
We had the perfect romantic evening for my husbands birthday. The Queso Flameado not only had an amazing cheese pull but tasted stunning. We went with the suggestions of our wonderful waitress and enjoyed every single dish put in front of us.
Can't wait to take my friends or out of towners back with me.
We had a great birthday dinner here! Loved the food & drinks, just pretty pricey for the portions. $50/person.
Friendly service and excellent food. A nice departure from Tex-Amex with fresh flavors and lots of depth.
Excellent food. Perfectly seasoned. We will be back
I’ve always enjoyed La Condesa however this time I’ve witnessed a few issues. The taste of the agua fresca wasn’t fresh, all the tortillas were really hard to chew, and the portion sizes were pretty snail with much larger price tag.
We came to Austin excited to experience some amazing food that reflected the vibe of the city. Instead we got overpriced, trying way too hard to be fancy big city Mexican food. We had to ask for and pay extra for tortillas for a pork dish that was meant to be eaten with tortillas. Makes no sense. Lots of staff walking around, yet so inattentive. They were clearly too busy chatting with one another to take care of the few guests that were there.
Excellent dinner outdoors. Great food, albeit a bit pricey. We will return.
Always an incredible experience at La Condesa. The food, the atmosphere, the drinks -- everything is wonderful.
I enjoyed the food. A very unique menu but everything tasted great!
Hadn’t been to La Condesa in years. We miss the old menu! Portions were small, selection was limited.
Service was the best thing about the evening.
Food was really expensive for what it was, and I was visiting from the west coast which is notoriously overpriced. Food was good, but pretty basic. Short rib quesadilla was delicious, but literally half a tortilla, small cup of green sauce and some onions on a plate for $17. And $16 for a standard margarita in a highball glass filled with ice is ridiculous, that's nightclub prices. The Fiddleleaf figs in the restaurant were dying and looking a bit sad. Cm'on you guys, you can do better than this!
The drinks are great but don't go for the food. Expensive for what you get (better fancy Mexican food in Austin) and stubborn chef. Simply asked to keep a spicy sauce off of my sister's food and the chef 'wasn't able to make that accommodation.' Had to try 3 times to find something the chef would allow.
Had an amazing time, great server and great menu
We got both the fish and tuna ceviche and both we awesome but the “fish” was off the charts great! The tamal and pabil were also great.
Great fall menu reboot, honored our outdoor table request.
Didn’t love the food felt like everything as missing the wow factor. It didn’t help that we waited quiet some time for our drinks and food, over 25 mins for our margs. Our serve also didn’t seem to have it together, we had two other servers start to assist us and seemed to pick up on our original serves slack.
One of my favorite restaurants ever! Ellie was the best!
Decent food, I have heard nothing but good things about this restaurant. We tried it, sat outside and unfortunately got ignored. Multiple attempts from other servers (not ours) asking if anyone was helping us as our server ignored us. When our server took our order she did not have the answers for us to explain anything on the menu. The bill came after asking another server, still didn’t see our server, thankfully had cash, left the cash and left. Will not return, will continue to dine at Suerte, ATX Cocina.
Food was good but not great. The food was paced and when we ordered desert felt rushed to leave and we obviously have no control of the pace of them bringing food out. We won’t be going back soon.
Tasty authentic Mexican and excellent customer service. GM was awesome and struck up a
Great conversation with us !
Great Night Out
We sat on the patio. It was a beautiful night.
So here’s my situation: This place was suggested to me on Open Table while searching for Mexican Food. I didn’t enjoy it because our food wasn’t served hot, and our tostadas showed up cold and bare.
I’m familiar with nixtamalization, and i love the taste of freshly made tortillas when they’re done this way, it beats eating non-scratch made tortillas by a long shot.
BUT…La Condesa for some reason missed the mark by serving us lukewarm food and tortillas, and when you’re making tortillas this way, they get cold fast! by the time the food arrived at our table, our queso flameado was cold and greasy, the short rib quesadilla we got wasn’t impressive, but it was decent enough to save this quick meal.
This restaurant served us tapas sized portions and in my personal opinion was overpriced. We asked for tostadas but were never brought the pico we ordered to use them with. The tostadas, we’re cold, unsalted, and stupid to be featured as a menu item without any solid accompaniments.
The food was my issue, and these appetizers weren’t impressive enough to stay for a full meal. Service was great, and the happy hour drink prices were solid enough to come back for, maybe another time.
Great watermelon Martini!
Chilaquiles, Quesadilla Huitlacoche, Huevos Racncheros
La Condesa has amazing food, the best selection of mescal and great customer service. The menu offers an elevated take on traditional dishes, made with a creative flair, an eye for detail and the freshest ingredients. This is an excellent choice for happy hour, a weekday meal or a special event. We had a wonderful time at La Condesa. The tuna, barbacoa and tres leches are favorites.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. THE FOOD is AWESOME!!!! I have never eaten such wonderfully authentic Mexican food. The queso, hummus and short rib quesadillas were perfection. The salt rim on the MARGS was so yummy!
Great service, too. We will be back!
wonderful barbacoa and chicken mole. large potions. great service. we will return. loved it!!
We’ve eaten here a few times and loved it, however this was a miss and will take a break for awhile. We were placed on an overflow patio that had no fan or ambiance — this resulted is slower service as we felt like an afterthought. Also, the food was off — typically the half chicken melts in your mouth but this chicken was boring and covered in too much mole sauce to try to kick it up a notch but it didn’t work. Love this place but this experience left me missing the “old days”
Good food but disappointed menu was condensed down and my favorites were removed. I get the times though. Our server was fantastic.
