Wonderful experience! Food was amazing and we had great service.
Menu is drastically sparce with choices. $100 tab...they charge extra for items like salsa.. we left feeling underwhelmed. Go for happy hour and at least the drinks are 1/2 price. It use to be a hot spot years ago but it has not been able to keep up with the Austin vibe. Disappointing.
Cute atmosphere, AC was not cooling so made it a bit uncomfortable. Waitstaff was fine and service was fine. Food was terrible and hard to even eat.
It was okay! The food was meh the menu was a little weird. Cute spot but pretty pricey. $32 for a carafe of champagne and it wasn’t even full :(
Love the food focus, the quality of ingredients, and the crafting that shows throughout. The food concept is exceptional. The one recurring flaw in several selections, however, was clearly excessive salt, to the point of being unpalatable to all in our group of 4, and we tend to like things well seasoned. The service and personal attention was excellent. We will be back. Hopefully by then the Chef, who is masterful, will get the salt levels under control.
Great meal all around. There was just two of us and 3 dishes and dessert were plenty! We got the queso to start which was amazing then the corn and chicken tacos. We were hoping the corn was on the cob but it came in a bowl - still tasted delish though. To finish we got the churros!!
Great food and service!
A poor selection for us. We were with my elderly father in law and the music was very loud. The food was only mediocre and the service while attentive was somewhat disorganized. Just not a good place for us but perhaps popular with a younger crowd.
Mary was the best server EVER!!! Food was also good.
Drink prices were great and the food was great but the some of the portions are small compared the price (quesadillas over priced).
We had a Sunday Brunch recently and it was outstanding. From our delicious half price, premium specialty margaritas, to the Ceviche Pescado (halibut), the Mexican street corn, and the Chorizo queso, it was all unique and delicious. Our server, Mary was outstanding, and guided us through a bunch of menu alternatives to one of the best dining out experiences we have had in a long while. And, no, this is not the first time we have dined out after COVID. We dined out regularly during 2020 and had several excellent meals, but none of them pulled everything together like our La Condesa brunch. I highly recommend it.
Rap music was too loud and annoying for me.
Booth seats not most comfy (for short persons like me)
Still... well worth to go for the food.
Kitchen would not amend ingredients, noisy outdoor and in and the grouchiest hostess could not be overcome by good food, excellent ceviche and tuna poke.
We haven’t been there since Covid restrictions kicked in but we were surprised the menu changed significantly as well as the portions....
We LOVE La Condesa and had been waiting to go back for over a year! Unfortunately, went there during 5 de Mayo and the food was absolutely disappointing! The fish tacos were the worst, sorry Chef but that dish is not at La Condesa level. To top it off our waitress was not on top of her game and made several mistakes with our order, she did fix them but after the third time it was annoying. Very disappointing experience.
I made a reservation for Cinco de Mayo based on promotion from the restaurant that they were having margarita and food "specials" all night. I searched for specifics, but that was not available anywhere online, except they were going to have 5 different margarita specials and taco/quesadilla specials.
I arrive and they have a limited menu. They would only allow you to order from the limited menu, which was about 2x the cost of their regular menu. What a rip off! Based on their promotion of "specials," I was expecting something along the lines of happy hour pricing. For instance, on La Condesa's happy hour special, cocktails range from $6 - 7.50. On the Cinco de Mayo "specials" (aka the only menu they would allow you to order from), the least expensive margarita was $18. There was nothing special about the experience, except the restaurant being especially deceptive in their promotion. I left this comment with the restaurant directly before writing a review and got no response at all. I won't be returning.
Food was good- but pricey for the holiday. Being able to make modifications would have been nice but they were prohibited.
Food is always wonderful and of course the margs never disappoint! Great happy hour too!
Items were missing from our order
Mole chicken was burnt and bitter
Water started leaking into the building. When we let FOH know they told us they are aware of it, it is an old building and that it is what it is. So we relocated ourselves, instead of FOH creating space for us. Communication was just not clear between FOH to our table. We were left to problem solve when we are paying for the experience of dining out.
Me gusta el lugar más que la comida, excelente servicio.
1st ACL Taping in more than a year!
Almost every dish we ordered was underwhelming. Spices used, presentation, portions were all really disappointing.
Ive had a lot of Mole in my days (many of times in Mexico) and this was probably the most bitter tasting I have ever had.
Queso flameado without chorizo is just not worthy
Although our waiter was really nice, he was pre-occupied with another table of his friends.
Unfortunately we will not return.
Really overpriced for the quality. The best thing I had was the Jarritos Grapefruit soda.
We were given chips and salsa without asking and unaware that they were not complimentary and our bill was wrong THREE times.
I celebrated my baby shower there with 5 of my friends the waitress was super kind and friendly and she even give us her food recommendations.! Everything was delicious:) we were there for brunch and ended staying until closing:)
My husband and I went here for a dinner date. It was yummy however extremely overpriced for what you get. A marg, a beer, some guac, one little quesadilla and a couple of micro mini tacos came to over $100. While the food was good I found this a bit outrageous. We also came in right at 6 on the dot and they wouldn’t honor happy hour. Disappointing date night.
Service, food and drinks were perfect. During covid we choosed patio seating. The street noises and truck fumes was a bit under warming. We will pick inside next time.
Very small portions and the cleaned all of the silverware at the table right next to us with no gloves on or anything
I absolutely loved la Condesa! My waiter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, not just about the food but about Mexico in general. My favorite was the pineapple margarita and the homemade chips (and guacamole) were outstanding.
We reserved a table for 7 and our waiter seemed a little rushed. It was really loud and there were some odd menu items. We ordered the salsa trilogy and it came without chips. The waiter didn’t tell us until after he dropped the salsa. Strange. The menu is greatly reduced and the portions were small and expensive. My short rib quesadilla was bland. It was a single blue corn tortilla folded over. Which is a taco. The tacos were actually tiny tostadas, about two bites per one. Great drinks. The queso was excellent. Our waiter chased us out because he thought he gave us the wrong check. He went inside and came out and said it was ok.
It was my 6th time visiting LaCondesa, so my expectations were high due to previous terrific experiences. The menu options were unimpressive. The service was not as fun as usual, the waiter seemed annoyed and curt with us.
Nice spot for dinner. Got in right on time. Would certainly go back. Try sharing the menu and treat it tapas style so you can try more
John, our waiter was the best! Totally enjoyed our first visit to La Condesa and will definitely return.
Mary was exceptional. Would return just to have Mary’s recommendations!
We had a great experience. Mary was our server; she was amazing, and the food is always perfect!
Glad to be back eating here! Such a great, fun spot!
Over hyped and below average.
Always a great experience at La Condesa, we thoroughly enjoyed the steak tampiquena. It was also nice to sit inside again post pandemic.
We went for Sunday Brunch. The cocktails are amazing, which is especially nice because there is a Brunch happy hour.
The food is delicious, authentic... and beautifully presented.
Just keep in mind that the portions are small so your brunch can turn out to be a little pricey. But overall a very good experience, food, and wonderful ambiance!!
I generally love La Condesa. Brunch, however, was almost laughable. Tiny portions of very mediocre food. It seemed like they were trying so hard to make the foods edgy that it went over to the other side where it just felt like they were trying way too hard.
Great location, beautiful patio, excellent food and exceptional service.
Prices are out of control!
