Everything was outstanding. We will return many times.
We had a romantic dinner there. The service, food selection, and drinks were great. The waitress was very friendly and provided help in my wife’s selections. The food looked as good as it tasted. There was a large dessert cart with great selection.
We had six people, One dish was cold two dishes were sent back not tasting right and my Aragosta Fra'Diavolo was great. The Gnocchi Bolognese was incredible. It looked like a lot of people were enjoying their food, it might of been a freak issue.
Went out for a Post - Valentines days dinner. Food was excellent as always.
I usually love La Collina. Last night I ordered the pasta special that was described as having lobster and shrimp. Unfortunately there was no lobster and one tiny shrimp, it was just a plate of pasta with halved tomatoes. Very disappointing. Fortunately the rest of our group all enjoyed their meals. Our waitress was lovely and the service good. Will order off the menu next time.
valentines. but is great fir everythinh
My wife and I, like many other reviewers, have passed this restaurant many times, while on I-76. We often talked about having dinner there. On Valentine's Day 2018, we were able to cross it off the bucket list. We arrived and were greeted by two men (maybe a dad/son team) at a makeshift valet stand. Both men were dressed a little too casually given the atmosphere of the restaurant. We checked in at the host stand, and were seated promptly. A waitress approached our table, and was rudely pushed away by a waiter (Mario). Mario was insistent that we were his table. We were never given a drink menu/wine list, which apparently you must ask for. Upon ordering our wine, solely by varietal, dinner menus were brought to the table. There were plenty of excellent options. We started with an order of the fried calamari. As for entrees, my wife ordered the Zuppa di Pesce, and I ordered the Linguine con Pesce. Both, the appetizer and entrees, were very good. While we were enjoying our meals, we overheard another table call Mario out on an $8 discrepancy on their check, which eventually was rectified. We then ordered a red velvet pastry to go, and asked for our check. Mario brought our check and dropped it on the table. I checked his math, which appeared to be correct ($120.53). I gave him a credit card, and off he went to swipe it. When he came back, the credit card signature slip showed a total of $128.53, an $8 discrepancy. I asked Mario about the difference, to which he responded by pointing at the eight and repeating, "That's a zero, not an eight!". It most definitely was an eight, as you can see in the attached photo. He initially refused to fix it, at which time I asked to speak with a manager. Mario said, "I'll take it and show a manager." I insisted that I wanted to speak with the manager personally. A few moments later, a manager arrived... sided with me... and corrected the check. I firmly believe that something fishy was going on. Beware.
I was so excited to finally visit La Collina. I had heard the place was amazing and have always wanted to go there. I was so disappointed. First, the tables are so close together you are pretty much sitting with whoever is at the next table. It is so loud you can’t have a conversation at a normal level. The waiter was miserable and (I have never seen this before in any restaurant) when he cleared my husband’s plate, he leaned right over me to reach across the table to grab the plate as I was still eating - almost hitting me in the face with his elbow. Who does that? Even servers at Chili’s know to clear dishes from the patron’s side. If my Uncle Georgio was there, he would have taught that waiter some manners and stuck his fork in his hand! You never reach across the table in front of someone - that’s just rude! The food was mediocre. I ordered the Risotto with seafood and the risotto was more like Minute Rice in fish broth. Not creamy at all and lacking taste. Where was the cheese people??? I’m Italian and come from a long line of great Italian cooks, so food is a passion for me. La Collina left me lukewarm, much like my husband’s meal which was barely warm when it reached the table. He said it was okay in the taste department but nothing to write home about. He felt bad because he had eaten there before a few times for business and the food was always good so he thinks maybe they got a new Chef. All in all, it was like Graceland to me. A place you have to visit once in your lifetime but its a let down, been there-done that kinda place and I don’t have any desire to go back.
One of the worst meals that I have had in a long time. The wine selection is very poor. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Nine of us for dinner Saturday evening after a performance in center city. From the pleasant gentleman handling car valet to the friendly and professional host, to the wonderful and professional servers, La Collina really excels at making you feel like a wanted guest in their home. Food and service very good. You can count on La Collina. Thank you again!!
I have noticed LaCollina while drive on 76 for past 25 years but never stopped by.
A friend and I decided to try it and it is an experience. I would not recommend this
for FINE dining, but absolutely recommend it for a good meal and wonderful
Good food, excellent service and nice ambiance as well as a bit pricey
Wonderful Italian food. They have BYOB on Sunday. It is somewhat pricey however. Service and food are excellent.
Food here is always great, but we felt we were rushed by our waiter. 8:15 reservation, ushered to the bar, seated by 8:40. Told waiter we wanted to enjoy our drinks and appetizers and order entrees later, came back in a few minutes "to take our entrée orders". Everything came pretty fast. Guess they don't like to stay late.
Love this restaurant, it is a classic Old world dining experience. Delicious food, exquisite service and romantic ambiance.
The food is excellent but the service was terrible. Our waiter was MIA for half the night and after asking for our waiter, he gave us the check without asking if everything was alright, or even a simple ‘have a good night’. Just the check and that was it. Very rude.
Always a wonderful evening when dining here .. Maurizio makes THE BEST Espresso Martini
We went to LaCollina for our 25th Anniversary dinner. I had the special of Crab Ravioli, it was phenomenal! My husband asked for an item that was not on the menu and the chef not only accommodated his request, it was some of the best chicken francaise he’s had in a while! Mario our waiter was attentive, funny and so accommodating. We will certainly return in the near future because the Branzino Amazing!!!!!
Had the grilled Dover sole, one of thei specialties. Wonderful! The wait staff alone is worth the visit
There is a very good reason La Collina has been around over 25 years! It is elegantly casual - not at all stuffy. From the time you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by friendly personnel and the attentiveness, warmth and friendliness continue throughout your dining experience.
The restaurant has an authentic Italian menu, phenomenal Branzino (and other fish) served table side, Langostino, veal, soups, starters and sides that are freshly prepared and an amazing selection of desserts. The servers and kitchen personnel are more than happy to accommodate special cooking/preparation requests. You will not get anything drowned in salt and sauces that take away from the flavor of the dish, itself.
We cannot say enough positive things about La Collina!
Our visits to La Collina are always a pleasure. Whether meeting friends, or simply as a twosome, we are never disappointed. Our favorites are fish dishes, always fresh and tastily prepared. We are planning 2 additional visits this month. Our request for a favorite table is always honored.
We had a fantastic time at La Collina. The food was superb and service spectacular. The dessert, lemon cake and the chocolate cake, were wonderful. It was a terrific way to celebrate a special birthday.
Amazing Gnocchi. A great date spot
We have been to this restaurant many times in the past and we always order the chicken parmesan and the Osso Bucco. And it was always wonderful. On this occasion the Osso was SOOOOO small you could barely see it. It was over a very large portion of white rice, awful. The chicken parmesan , was just ok and served with brussel sprouts??? How about serving both entrees with pasta. This was a huge disappointment. We were celebrating a special birthday. We will never go back!
Their Dover Sole is the best you will ever eat!! Their Wine list is amazing!
I took my wife for dinner on new years eve. It was amazing everything they brought to our table was better than the last. Our waiter Mario was awesome.
I was surprised that all the people there were celebrating New Years Eve. The fish was delicious (I had the Dover sole and my wife had the Bronzino) and my waiter( Michael ) was very gracious. This is my favorite restaurant for eating Pasta and fish.
We love LaCollina. Been going there for about 30 years. Always great!
We had a most delightful dinner at La Collina. The restaurant was festive without being over the top. Although very busy, the service remained professional. We can't complement Anthony (aka in south Philly as Antony, not Tony according to him) enough--engaging and funny he soon got into the rythm of our nonsense. As expected the food was excellent.
We had a great service since when stop my car with valet and all server was friendly
