Made a reservation for Valentine's Dinner on the recommendation from a friend. Did not know that it was a pre fixed 5 course menu at $79.99 per person. Asked if we could order from the menu and the waiter said "no". We weren't planning on spending that much for dinner. At that price I expected it to be "over the moon" food and it wasn't. We were very disappointed!!!!

Went for Valentine's Dinner. Food was exceptional. Talked to locals who said it is the "place everyone comes to eat that live in St. Augustine". Evening only fell flat when we went upstairs to get dessert. One selection and no place to sit. Set up in workout room it seems. Was cold so no one went outside to enjoy the music which was good. Will definitely go back.

I brought my wife here for valentine's day. The 5 course meal was amazing! Absolutely the best meal we have ever enjoyed!

The server (Jorge) was excellent. Everything was brought out prompty.

We absolutely recommend LA Cocinas to anyone!

We selected this restaurant for Valentine and Anniversary celebration do to their menu selections. But the restaurant decided to have a fixed price menu for the Valentine Day, we wished the restaurant would have informed us of this change prior to our visit. We felt this being price gouging and poor food selection from the special menu.

They were unable to find our reservation but still sat us immediately.

However, we were sat with 10 minutes before we left due to no server acknowledging us.

The menu is extremely expensive and very limited.

Waiter was as pleasant as you would want and then some. Was there with my family and the only problem was that we filled up on such a great dinner we did not have room for dessert. Food was EXCELLENT ! Service was fantastic.

The food was excellent as always. However, we were quite disappointed that there was no acknowledgement that we were celebrating our anniversary. We checked the box that it was our anniversary when we made the reservation and we wrote a special note. Although there were many open tables, the entire night we were seated at a smaller table for two where we couldn’t see the fireplace. At the end of the meal, I asked the waiter if he knew it was our anniversary and asked them if they still did something special for a special occasion and he just mumbled something about sometimes they did. This used to be our favorite place to celebrate a special occasion but it isn’t anymore.

There are not enough positive words to describe La Cocina. The food is consistently delicious and prepared perfectly. Located inside a hotel in a beach town, this is not a typical beach restaurant. However, I have seen every style of dress, from jeans and t-shirt to suit and tie. The prices are reasonable and the food and service will exceed your expectations. The kicker for me, there is plenty of free parking. No driving around downtown looking for a space and having to pay to park! :)

Remarquable. Our waiter, Victor, was very professional. The food was tasty and came in large portions. I highly recommand the lobster soup and bouillabaisse. The chef was able to put together a wonderful vegetarian meal without cheese that wasn’t on the menu for my husband. We shall be back.

An excellent menu, and great food. The one drawback to the restaurant is it's liquor permit, which means they only serve wine and beer. A drawback to a celebration!

I have reviewed this fine restaurant numerous times previously. The fact that I'm a frequent patron speaks for itself. I had the best swordfish, special for the night, that I've ever eaten!

Menu choices were not only interesting but varied and well-prepared. I have never seen ostrich on the menu in this area. My husband and I have had it before elsewhere and this was just delicious. Salads were a perfect size. Main courses were limited but varied and the only problem was choosing which to have. the wine list is limited and again very good choices. Service was perfect. The restaurant is quiet allowing the table to share not only good food but conversation. We will be going back.

The soup was fantastic as well as the wine, but we were a little disappointed in our entrees, the rack of lamb and the sea bass. While they were edible, they were not fantastic which had been my expectation. The restaurant was very loud and lacked the ambiance I expected from the reputation of La Cocina.

There was also a small child, around a year old who would periodically scream. Not the fault of the restaurant, but it made the dining experience less than desirable. Why people bring a small child to a fancy restaurant is beyond me. If they can't get a babysitter, then they should go elsewhere.

My friends and I celebrated with lunch the other day at La Cocina and, as always, the food was well prepared and delicious and we ordered a variety of different types of dishes. Our wait staff was stretched a bit. Perhaps someone didn't show up for work. Certainly not the fault of the staff who attended us. The only downside of my experience there are the heavy wrought iron chairs. Once I'm seated, I don't like to get up to greet other guests because of the heft of those chairs; I feel locked in place. Lovely dessert choices. The creme brulee comes in three flavors in separate ramekins. Perfect for a small treat for a group.

Our server was exceptional. All the staff were freindly and anxious to please. It was a great dining experiance. Reservations were on time and even though we were early the wait staff took great care to make sure we were comfortable until our table was ready. The plates were arranged beautifully with exceptional cuisine. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Excellent meal that suited and pleased each guest. Be prepared though - very expensive. Over $100/person. We had the works, and it was for a special occasion, but the check could bring sticker shock. If you are looking for an outstanding meal with top notch quality, service and ambiance, go and see Javier. You will be delighted.

Amazing! My first take, as I walked in, was that it was too small of a place and it would be crowded so quickly that the server would probably be overwhelmed. On the contrary. It was very small but comfortable. There were two servers and yes indeed they were so very busy, however we lacked nothing. Each one helped the other just in the passing of each other's tables. They worked so well together I was impressed. No glass was left half full; nor did any dirty dishes remain on the tables. We even got a visit from someone who may have been the manager or supervisor. Excellent!
My husband and I travel just to find great eateries/restaurants. Sometimes we even go out of state for a date, especially when we have 8 hours to play with as we did on this occasion. This spot will be a regular for us. The food was superb! As some would say: finger lickin' good!
I work at a local hotel and refer my guests to a select few restaurants. This one has made the mark. I sent a family of four there last week (Christmas Day) and they were enthralled with the food as well as the service. They raved about it and were so pleased with the pricing. It certainly warmed my heart to be able to make an "out-of-towner" feel so welcomed.
Thank you for being so perfect!

We have eaten here before when we stayed in hotel where it is located. Food is fresh and we'll prepared and presented. They always have specials in addition to regular menu. I had salmon which was encrusted with nuts. A different way to prepare salmon. Delicious. My husband had another fish dish which he liked as well.

We had our book club holiday party at La Cocina for lunch. The lobster bisque with some added sherry was divine. The lunch menu is very different from the dinner menu but a nice variety. Nice wine list. We go back every year!

When it comes to "fine dining" in Saint Augustine, there is few and far between. On "the island" portion of St Augustine there isn't even a competition - La Cocina is hands down the absolute best there is for fine dining. Little pricey? Yep. Worth every penny? Absolutely. That Sea Bass is flipping ridiculous, the filet and salmon are excellent, and the nightly chef's special is always tempting. Nightly soup du jour along with a lobster bisque choice ... always excellent!
