The chef here is an artist! Amazing cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. Do enjoy the lobster bisque on your visit.

Two large parties generated so much noise we couldn't hear ourselves at our own table for 2. La Cochina needs to install a soft surface to absorb sound & establish a private space for large parties. The noise simply overpowered. This was not the first time. It was not pleasant, & we won't return unless they make changes.

My friends and I love to go to La Cocina and always have a fabulous time. Victor is our favorite waiter and is extremely attentive and accommodating. On this visit we had the Filet which was fantastic. The trio of creme brulee for dessert was absolutely delicious. We will go back as often as we can!

La Cocina is near the beach and inside the Castillo Real hotel, making it very convenient if you are staying in the hotel. The atmosphere is nice. I don't think they have a full bar but they do have beer and a nice wine selection. I had the half lamb rack which was good, and my wife had a salad with some chicken added to it. The food presentation is very nice. We would probably not go back as it seemed a bit pricey compared to what food options are available in St. Augustine.

Nothing wrong with the experience. Food was OK, just not memorable, and not worth a second visit, in my opinion.

La Cocina International Restaurant in Saint Augustine Beach, FL at the Castillo Real Hotel (not affiliated) is an absolute neighborhood gem. It features an outstanding creative cuisine by extraordinarily wonderful chefs, a marvelous wine selection, and friendly, attentive, and multilingual service staff. The dress is casual to business casual and generally caters to an adult crowd, and to many local residents. I come here often for dinner and occasionally, after church on Sunday. This is one of the best restaurants in the area for fine dining.

The lobster bisque was very rich. The raspberry vinaigrette in the pear salad was a bit too sweet. The rack of lamb was delicious. Victor is a great waiter and tried to please us to the best of his ability. The decor is very nice and the ambiance was very acceptable.

It was amazing. We picked a place somewhat blindly... I looked at trip advisor and simply picked the first one on the list.
La Cocina did not disappoint in fact we were super impressed. My 12 year old is a very picky eater.... not only did she pick one of the night's specials but she actually ate it all and experimented with some new flavors.
The staff was very friendly (though they forgot my wine and I had to ask again) they were engaging and very attentive.
It was a very nice experience. The prices were higher than i expected for a restaurant in St. Augustine but it was very well worth it!

Meal was a good value, however a few more choices under $30.00 price point would be nice. Noise level could be improved with padding on the heavy chair to avoid scrapping on the tile floor. I and my partner, Patrick, have enjoyed this fine restaurant since it opened.

My aunt had been to the restaurant with my uncle, years ago. She remembered how good it was so we went after an exhibit at the Litner Museum. Just as she remembered, the food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service was perfect!

From the smallest detail to the food, service and attention it was all great. I'm pleased i picked this place for my boyfriends birthday. Our server Victor was very attentive & chef/owner Humberto came to our table to make sure everything was good and that were happy with everything. We will be back next time we come to St. Augustine.

Awesome tasting seafood priced mid to $20's to mid $30's. I tried the Bouillabaisse which is a tomato fennel broth over fettuccine loaded with shrimp, mussels, clams, grouper & calamari. I will be back!

It was our anniversary and we celebrated with our dear friends. Victor our waiter was fantastic, personable and very attentive. We all agreed the food was delicious. The lobster bisque, paella, salmon, and gambas and grits were superb. All came temperature hot and all the food was served at the same time. La Cocina didn't rush us.
It was a relaxing evening.

A perfect dinner to celebrate husband's birthday. Food was all delicious, very personable waiter. Only tiny neg. was the $5 plate split charge we were not told about (2 appies & 1 entree & 2 bottles of vino...we sure spent enough they should not have charged us this.)

Our waitress was a student at Flagler and was knowledgeable, personable and the absolute best. We should have wrote this review while her name was fresh in our minds (Julia?) Pretty Asian girl with glasses and knew the menu inside out. If we were locals we would ask for her every time we came back.

My overall experience was good, the food was not as impressive as I hoped for the price and the decor a bit drab. The service was good. Ordered the octopus which was not as tender as I expected and the flavors we're good, but a little too strong (fishy octopus, heavy ragu that overwhelmed the palate). The portabella carpaccio was an interesting concept but I think the mushrooms were a little slimy and may have tasted better cut thinner as a meat carpaccio would be, with more than just 6 pieces...
I love ostrich normally but despite cooking it with a very rare sear, I found it chewy, which can commonly be found in a meat with so little fat. I also think this should have been prepared in thinner slices to ease the mastication process.

I'm being picky here when it comes to cuisine. Seemed like a popular place with happy guests and pleasant staff.

My friend enjoyed our lunch very much. It was actually an accident that we went there, but we were so glad we did and I told my husband that we need to return for a lunch. Only issue was the noise because of several groups, but that couldn't be helped.

Very good restaurant. Service was excellent due to friendliness and helpfulness. Victor made the dinner successful by providing recommendations based on our likes. The food was very good. The lobster bisque is a must! The pear salad was very good. We had the filet mignon and fish special. Both were prepared beautifully. The filet melted in the mouth and the fish was delicious. Dessert was rich. I would recommend to try La Cocina for a romantic dinner.
