Restaurant was very noisy...hard to have conversation due to several large tables close by and very loud. Service was slow. Food arrivals were slow. Food was excellent, however very pricey for St Augustine beach. Entree was $48 for sea bass....and service charge of 20% was added to the bill.....
Lobster tail over cooked and tough. Lobster bisque very good
Exceptional as always. The food is always fresh and presented beautifully. My go to restaurant for whenever I want a truly good meal.
the salmon was excellent. service very good however the view of the pool was a negative. so was the lack of alcohol. only wine and beer. they should move to a better location. would get more customers. we are unlikely to return to this location. hope they move
Fantastic dinner, service and ambiance. Octopus Salad was delicious, along with the Shrimp and Grits. Always love this restaurant and will return!
The first time in St. Augustine and I couldn't have chosen a better restaurant to kick-off a mini vacation with a friend. Sarah was our waitress and her charisma kept the mood going. The food and wine suggestion were perfect!
Absolutely delicious! I had the scallop-encrusted salmon with lemon basil sauce— it was divine! Cooked to perfection. Moscato was the best I’ve had. Server was lovely. Anastasia Beach is a 3 min walk from the restaurant— an absolute must-see! Worth the drive and price!
We loved the food and service... the location is a drawback... the view is the pool of the hotel and not something we enjoyed during our dinner.
This is without argument one of the best "fine dining" establishments in St John's county and it's easily the best place on the island for fine dining. Wine list is ok, noise can be an issue as it's very open, but the food cannot be topped. Matched maybe (Collage, Preserved) but not topped.
Norberto, the Food and service are unique.,I love to Go there is Make us Happy!,GRACIAS!!
Excellent service by Sarah. Very good presentation. Tables well set with proper silverware and impeccable table cloths. The best Lobster bisque I've ever had. Excellent Rack of Lamb and salads.
A wonderful restaurant for fine dining on Beach A1A. The cuisine is continental with a very nice wine selection, and complemented with attentive, friendly service. I come here frequently.
Ever since it opened, La Cocina has been our first choice for all special events, holidays, birthdays, etc ... as well as our favorite "let's go out for lunch/dinner" choice! We have never been disappointed ... if you have not experienced a visit here, we urge you to do so!
The restaurant's presentation of their dishes is lovely...and imaginative..
We were celebrating my mother's birthday with my grandmother (94) and aunt who was visiting from New York City. We were all impressed with our meals and they were very accommodating to my elderly grandmother. I had the half rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. My aunt had the duck and I tried it for the first time...loved it. The Petite filet was also wonderful. Great evening and even the "New Yorker" was impressed.
Food was good. Service was slow and non-existent for long period of times.
Where do I begin, my wife and I decided to spend a weekend in St. Augustine, FL and after doing some research, we settled on La Cocina. Did not disappoint. Service from the moment you walk in was fabulous. From the soup (Lobster Bisque), best my wife and I have ever had, to the appetizer (Ceviche), not over powering with lime/vinegar and very fresh. Excellent. The lobster ravioli was incredible and paella was the best I've ever had since my trip to Madrid. So flavorful and full of shrimp, mussels, calamari, clams and scallops. Would definitely come back again.
Best food on the beach! We had appetizers as well as a main course. Everything was excellent.
We asked for a quiet table and were put at perhaps the noisiest table. The service was okay even though we were staying at the restaurant. It was expensive and no one was thrilled with their meal. Would I ever eat there again? No
Convenient island location. Great lobster bisque and boullebaise. I had the paella, I'm fussy I would say it was good but will pass next time.
My husband and I went to La Cocina to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated immediately and served at a pace with which we were comfortable. Our server, Lucia, was charming and gracious. She gave us good information on the selections we were considering. Ultimately, we chose the rack of lamb and paella. My husband enjoyed the rack of lamb and the paella was absolutely delicious. Having become familiar with the Spanish restaurants in NY and NJ, the paella we had was every bit as good. We will definitely be returning, bringing friends and coming often.
May I suggest adding a Shrimp in Garlic & Olive Oil as an appetizer. The outstanding bread that was served would be a great accompaniment to this!!
Underwhelmed. Service, food and ambience were good, not outstanding. After other reviews we decided that this would be a nice place to spend our 20th anniversary. We felt that for the money ($150.00 for dinner for two, with two glasses of wine) it really was not worth it. Have had what we considered an excellent meal and experience for the same amount at a Three Forks. Sorry, missed the mark, and won't go back, and won't recommend.
Everything was excellent, as always! I have been here many times, and the food and service is always very good, and consistent. Wait staff is always very professional.
I highly recommend!!
This is a 10* fine dining restaurant! From the moment you walk in you are welcomed by professional wait staff. The food is definitely created by a wonderful chef who knows how to cook and create a wonderful presentation. The food tasted as good as it looked!
The chef surprised the birthday guy with these desserts!!! AMAZING to look and DELICIOUS!!!
Perfect place for appetizers and cocktails before a concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheater.
Always good. One of our faves. Jorge is tops.
We’ve been here twice in the last several weeks and had very good dinners each time in a pleasant, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. So nice not to have to shout to have a conversation and the service was great, attentive, friendly and not intrusive. The food was very good and parking was plentiful. This is becoming one of our favorite places and we’ve recommended it to friends. I just wish they had a full bar but it’s not a huge issue for us.
Wonderful food, but wish they used better wine glasses as the wine does taste much better.
Fue una experiencia maravillosa, excelente comida y servicio muy profesional , fuimos 4 amigos y todos quedamos muy positivamente impresionados, y definitivamente volveremos.
As a local, it has always been our "go to" favorite restaurant. We have never been disappointed on our dinner choice and the presentation is always amazing! With the new seasonal changes it's just a tougher decision! As usual, our service was wonderful! When you're in the area, make this place a must! You will not be disappointed!
Our first time here but we will definitely be back. Service was excellent and the food was superb.
The bread basket was to die for. A lot of extras were provided. Thank you
Incredible in every way! Service and food top notch!
This is our fifth time dinning at La Cocina.
Each time the food was the best part of the visit and the staff was very welcoming.
We had one of the best meals we've ever had, as well as superb service. We will definitely go back when we return to the area. A real gem!
Mother's Day lunch with my mom.
She really enjoyed her meal and day.
Everything was great.
We had a. Wry nice lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Very engaging and accommodating server, beautiful delicious food, professionally timed and served.
We had an outstanding evening. The meals were delicious and the service was outstanding. We have been there before and will be returning soon.
Just the best restaurant in St. Augustine, period ... not a joke. Fine dinning at its best for dinner .... great service , friendly staff, good drinks and you can even bring your own bottle of wine for a cork fee. Bread is baked on location, sea food and specials are fresh that day, sauces make you relish eat bite ..... a bit pricey (not for kids) but well worth it ! I recommend this to everyone that comes to the area, and tell them don’t let them being in a hotel throw you off . 5 star restaurant you might find in NYC !
Excellent diner as always. Consistently good service, excellent food, diverse choices, and wonderful wine choices
Some unusual choices, that were all excellent. The Parrot Fish special, the Octopus appetizer, were both very good. Service was very well done.
The food was 5 star, the service was 2 star. My big pet peeve when it comes to restaurants ( especially moderately expensive ones) is good service. We ordered an app and then a dinner entree for each of us. The app came out super fast. Then we sat, and sat, and sat. Then I started noticing people who were sat 15- 20 mins after us start getting their main courses. When I brought this to my servers attention he just basically said to relax because they are busy. About 15 mins after that we got our food and an apology from the chef. Apparently our meals fell through the cracks. I appreciate the apology but not my servers attitude when I called him on the wait...
