Wonderful food! Everything was delicious and so fresh!
We have dined here several times and were very surprised by our unhappy experience last night. When we arrived we were not greeted by anyone for almost 5 minutes because every employee was in the kitchen. The restaurant had only two other parties in the dining room so it was not because it was busy. When someone did come out they never apologized for the wait and acted very disinterested in service in general. We know this is not normally how we are treated here so I'm hoping it was just an "off night". We waited an excessive time for each of our courses to arrive and although our appetizer was prepared incorrectly no one came out of the kitchen to ask about it so we just ate it as it was because we were hungry and didn't want to wait longer for some food. When we mentioned the error to the waitress when she cleared the dish she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. The rest of the meal was prepared correctly but did take an excessive time to arrive -especially considering that by that time we were the only people left in the restaurant. We did observe that this was also a change from our previous visits - normally the restaurant is pretty crowded on a Friday night- so maybe this decline in service and indifferent attitude has hurt their business. I hope not as we had previously enjoyed the restaurant but I think we won't be in a hurry to go back :(
Small, authentic and delicious.
Bring a bottle of wine or beer and prepare yourself for a great dinner.
Reservations are very helpful!
Food was dry and bland. Worse tacos I have ever had. I am a from Texas and this was horrible.
Great food. Good ambiance!
First but not last time eating here.. the food was very enjoyable and nicely presented! Had a good time!
We had a wonderful entrée. Try the shrimp molcajaeta - a lava bowl full of molten spicey cheese with large shrimp. It’s perfect for a cold night. It’s served with tortillas, rice, beans and avocado .
The food was excellent, very authentic! Service was great! I will definitely be going back!
Really enjoyed this restaurant. The outside is not very impressive but as soon as you walk in, you feel warm and welcomed. Friendly service, good food, good prices, and great atmosphere.
I've been meaning to try La Cita for a long time. I was delighted that every table was full, so I'm glad I had a reservation.
The food is authentic and marvelous. The service is excellent. Highly recommended.
Growing up in California, and living in El Paso, TX, when I was younger I feel like I know Mexican. La Cita is authentic, and misting importantly delicious. The only Mexican my family eats in both South Jersey, and Philly, and the best around.
La Cita is a charming Mexican restaurant. The menu offers lots of choices. Everything I have eaten here has always been delicious. The service is great (sometimes slow) and the servers are always accommodating and friendly.
We have been here many times. Great and spicy food and great value. BYOB. Beer is fine but we usually bring wine. Service is sweet but not cloying. Authentic !
Delicious and authentic cuisine.
What a terrific neighborhood find! Don’t tell anybody! We want to be able to get in next time!
Consistently fabulous food... Awesome service! This place is a total gem!
This was my second time dining at La Cita. We ordered traditional Mexican cuisine items and enjoyed everything thoroughly.
Low key atmosphere. BOYB & very good authentic Mexican food! Will be returning for value & quality!
The best Mexican food ever. Truly authentic. Very highly recommended!
Consistently good food prepared in more traditional ways of the family that runs this restaurant. Don't expect everything to be smothered in cheese, it's not chain. As cold weather approaches, try their soup of the day - they do a great job offering items not typically seen on menus and often don't use cream and otherwise keep them healthy. They are consistently tasty and worth a try.
WE visit often. The food is consistently good. For the price the portions are BIG so I end up taking some home!
Delicious, very atttentive server! Will. Certainly go Back!
We were in Camden County on an errand and wanted to try a new Mexican restaurant. This was excellent with a wide range of menu options and wonderfully prepared food. Portions were large enough to take home a lunch for another day. BYOB made it very economical.
Food here was fantastic! We went around 5:00PM and it wasn't incredibly busy. However, the wait staff was friendly and attentive and our food came out quick. Would absolutely visit again.
Food was just okay. Small restaurant with not very many tables. Overall appearance was casual I had a burito-carsada which was very bland. It was served with a little pile of shredded lettuce & diced tomstoes w/ a small dollop of quacamole that was also very bland. Very disappointed after reading the reviews which averaged 4.8. Wouldn't recommend to anyone whose ever had real authentic Mexican.
We go here often for lunch and dinner. Food is great and staff is friendly
Awesome, authentic Mexican food, great service, easy parking. If you want the real thing, this is the place to go!
Great food and service. Authentic Mexican food choices. Don't be fooled by the location/appearance on the busy stretch of route 70.
Surprisingly great considering I never knew this restaurant was so near my home and that there was great food
Best Mexican food around. I've tried several Mexican restaurants in Philadelphia and La Cita has the most authentic Mexican food around. The place is small but cozy and friendly. Staff is great and I always have a great time every time I go.
Service was slow but overall expected because it was Cinco de Mayo. I was disappointed in the guacamole in taste and price. But the entrees were delicious. Great that it's a BYOB. Very pleasant staff. Will go again.
We go to LaCita pretty often. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant ...very authentic and the staff is awesome. Love the food , service and BYOB. Enjoy!
This is our second time to La Cita and both times we've loved it. From the outside, it might not be much to look at, but don't let that you dissuade, since inside it's nice and the food is great. I've been to most of the Mexican restaurants in the area (and Mexican food is one of my favorites) and this place is the best of them. It's not your typical 'tex-mex' style (though you'll still find familiar options if that's the only Mexican food you know), but rather the food is much more authentic and made with fresh ingredients - and the taste is amazing.
One of our favorite local spots.
Great food - small dining area so peak hours are cramped and best to make a reservation
We have been to La Cita multiple times. The first time there, I tried the Fiesta Mexicana and loved it so much that I have never ordered anything else. My companion has ordered something different each time and, while she preferred some over others, she did like them all. The complimentary chips are among the best I've ever had, but I recommend sticking to the outstanding tomatillo salsa that they provide. The other, a pinkish-orange salsa, is like liquid fire, most suitable for those who would enjoy munching on fresh habanero peppers.
It is small; though they will take walk-ins, a recommendation is highly recommended. It is also BYOB. You can bring your beer or wine and, if you bring tequila, they will provide (for a fee) the mixer to make your own margaritas.
In the past year, we have ben to four different Mexican restaurants, one of which was good, but is out of business. Of the other three, the food here is not only very good, but also the most consistently good. I wish I could say the same of the other two.
Service is the perfect blend of attentiveness, but not overbearing. They always have made me feel as though, more than anything, they are there to make sure our experience is outstanding.
Food is good, a little pricey than expected, specially for the appetizers.
Awesome as always. Menu changed a little and everything is always fresh and tastes great. This time we tried the samplers to get a broader taste of what they offered and we were stuffed.
Love it. Our favorite Mexican restaurant. Small, intimate. Fabulous authentic cuisine. BYOB and no corking charge
