Not good at all
This is our 2nd time dining at La Cita. The best authentic Mexican cuisine in the area coming from foodies. Our only disappointment this time was that we made a reservation and they didn't have a table for us. After waiting 15 minutes for a table they squeezed the 3 of us into a table for 2. They did provide complimentary nachos and guacamole for our inconvenience. We will be back and hope the reservation works better next time.
Good food, many choices, reasonably priced, and excellent service. Will definitely go again.
Always awesome! Food is delicious and the servers are attentive.
You feel like you are in a sardine can. There is very little room between small tables. However, the food is good so you might want to go get take out.
Another wonderful meal at this non-chain, family operated restaurant. We had the La Cita sampler which was as amazingly delicious as the special pork empanada (home made!!). We could have stopped dinner there but split a chicken and shrimp frajita. We visit often and they keep giving us more reasons to return!!
Server was very nice and helpful. Everything was fresh and very good tasting
First time there. Guacomole was good but a bit heavy on cilantro. Server asked if I wanted soup or salad with my meal, so I thought it was included. Found out when the bill came that the soup was extra. Mole sampler was okay. Sauces were tasty. Chicken was a bit dry. Would have liked to have more with it than just the beans and rice, like cheese and lettuce maybe. Wife had taco sampler and found them tasty but also a bit dry. No cheese. No salsa or any sort of sauce with them. Fresh corn tortillas were delicious. I would go again and try something different.
Will definitely return. Friendly server, food was delicious and came out pretty quickly.
This place is great. Everything I have ever ordered here was great. The people are very nice.
Food was really good but it takes a long time to get.
A delightful meal at La Cita. We will definitely be back. Friendly service. Lively crowd.
Wonderful! Authentic! Amazing service! Excellent BYOB!
Food is good but service is beyond poor. Made a reservation for a party of 5 for dinner. When we arrived our server looked annoyed and confused. She proceeded to slam a chair at the end of a table for 4, I pointed out the chair is in the isle of a small restaurant and would not be acceptable. This only increased her sour face. She proceeded to punish us by serving parties that arrived after us, we waited for over an hour for our food and when we did get it ,it was cold. By then I was done and asked to take my dinner home. I noticed that other tables had there orders boxed and wrapped in the kitchen and placed in a plastic bag. Our table, she brought the box out and had us box it ourselves. The family that joined us for dinner was horrified and asked that we not suggest this place again ( it was there first experience here and clearly there last) 😢
I've driven past La Cita more times than I can count but have never looked into eating there. After finally deciding to check it out, I'm just sorry that I didn't go years ago. It's a very small place, so I highly recommend making a reservation. We did and when we walked in, they had a table ready and waiting for us. It's nice to see a restaurant that honors it's reservations and doesn't just treat them like call-ahead seating requests.
After you sit down, they bring you some tortilla chips with beans on them and 2 thin salsas, one hotter than the other. This was my one disappointment since I don't like beans. I would have preferred chips with the beans on the side. However, for free, I can't complain too much.
We ordered a tamale and empanadas for an appetizer. The tamale had nice size chunks of pork in it. The empanadas aren't on the menu, but were a special the night we were there. They were cheese filled with the lightest empanada dough I've ever had. I hope they're on the specials menu again the next time I'm there!
For dinner, we shared 2 dishes. First was the "Fiesta Mexicana," a combo of grilled skirt steak, a chile relleno, and floutas. Every bit of it was delicious. The steak, in particular, tasted like it had been grilled over an open fire. Second was a platter of enchiladas. We got them with the rojas sauce and tried one beef, one chicken and one cheese. They were all quite good, but the cheese is still my favorite as it usually is at any Mexican restaurant.
On their website, they advertise that they want you to feel like family. The friendliness of the staff and the authentic Mexican food that tastes home cooked manages to live up to this goal. This will definitely be our go-to local Mexican place from now on!
Amazing food! The chips and guacamole are among the best I’ve had. Very kind and attentive wait staff, and great overall vibe.
First visit after all these years; certainly will return soon. Food very authentic and delicious.
Went to restaurant week with a girlfriend for dinner and we both enjoyed our meals very much. Not your typical menu which is a plus. The only warning I will give is,it is tight seating and it can get loud. Also, we were a bit neglected as they were also serving large parties and seemed to spend a lot of time and attention on regulars. So service needs a little work but the food is top notch
Great menu for Cherry Hill Restaurant Week! Friendly service and creative meal presentation - our favorite neighborhood place.
My wife and I were there for Restaurant Week. We each tried different things and shared. Everything was delicious. Our server was extremely pleasant. We were there around 4pm and the food took a while to come out, but worth the wait.
Been here a few times and some experiences were better than others but this visit was enjoyable. Service was good and food hit the spot. I especially like the taco sampler (5 tacos for $13). Don't love the raw onions on each of the meat tacos but still good.
Server was distracted with planing a wedding party. In the past we have never had any issues. Food was great.
Moms birthday dinner. Waitress was so nice and gave great service. The azteca, fajitas, tacos and nachos were all delicious. BYOB! Monday night arrived at 530. It was quiet, but by the time we left every table was taken. Make a reservation or go early. I’ll be back often. Thanks for a memorable dinner. Flan and churros were a great end. And they put a sombrero on you for your birthday and sing if you tell them you have a birthday at the table❤️
Fun place to eat with family!
Authentic Mexican cooking. Very good. Worth r trying.
a great place to go with friends. BYOB and great food.
Food was as they say a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Generous portions of food with spices that enhanced the flavor of the item whether vegetable or a meat protein.
I was looking for real authentic Mexican food but this was not it: the place was empty yet we waited forever and sat ourselves. My meal had 5 shrimps, lots of sauce and nothing else. My husband’s meal looked good but no flavors. We also ordered $100 of food to go and got home, no chips and salsa, nothing, just the plain tasteless meals. I guess for people with no notion of real Mexican food, this place is ok, but we know better so skipping it. Try Cielito Lindo in Medford, way better!
Father’s Day dinner
Service was excellent. Food was amazing, and ambiance was very nice. Would definitely recommend to family and friends who live in the area. Prices are very reasonable as well. Loved the restaurant and hope to go again soon.
Always a great meal and the food and fantastic. Very authentic Mexican food.
It has been awhile since we visited La Cita, and I'm delighted to say the dining experience is still excellent. We were seated promptly and greeted immediately by our server. We each had a dinner entree (one chicken & one shrimp), and both were very good. The food here is authentic Mexican, and the ingredients were very fresh in our meals. The plating of the entrees was very nice too. The restaurant was mostly full the whole time we were there, and it seemed every table's food came out of the kitchen fairly fast. We were very satisfied with all aspects of the meal.
Great food, great staff.
It was a pleasure as always. Great food and warm attentive service.
The food was amazing, the wait staff was amazing - will definitely be back!
Very good mexican food with good service, value is excellent and the food has always been good. Small place, with limited seating. I recommend reservations as a "must".
Great food and the service was also fantastic. The place is very small, so I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time or you could be waiting a while.
Food was authentic, i was unaware there is no alcohol. Would have been nice to order some drinks
Wonderful place to eat! The Chile’s rellenos tasted just like the ones my abuela makes! Perfect little reminder of home!
